This hotel with a link to Dearne Valley Leisure Centre link offers great convenience (close to the A1/M), value and also some good eating facilities on site. You can either go upmarket at the Reeds Restaurant (remember to book) or the pub over the car park where the food/price is good and if you have kids you can use the specific 50% of the property dedicated to them.
Also the rooms were spacious and well laid out - our only criticism would be the small size of the windows which made the room feel a little dark - to be fair though it was a wet overcast weekend.

Room Tip: Take the rooms at the very end of the corridor e.g. 1 and 2 - especially if you want a quiet room

The hotel looks great from the outside with an impressive lobby. Typical British hotel with a room the size of a large closet, poor bed mattress, only 2 towels,no bathroom vanity just a small glass shelf over the stool so your items fall in the stool. Had a flatscreen tv the size of a computer monitor. The internet service was worse than bad,did a speed test because it was running so slow and it was running at a 1/2 KB a minute, which is about the speed of dial up 10 years ago. Spoke to the evening clerk, the night clerk and the manager in the morning and the best they could offer is we just work here or don't know anything about it. This type of service and response is totally unacceptable in todays competive market . Would never recommend or stay at this property again. .

Room Tip: I would search for a better option for a nights stay

Had no complaints about this hotel everything clean and nicely decorated. Lovely bedroom and really nice breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I would definitely stay here again. Nice pub across the car park from the Hotel, if you arrive late when the restaurant/pub is closed there is a vending machine in the hotel of there's a garage in Mexborough what is open late or possibly 24 hours if you need a few snacks if hungry.

Having recently purchased an offer via Groupon we attended the Reeds restaurant on 14th Sep to celebrate me birthday. On arrival we were given a 'Groupon menu' that contained, what seemed to be several choices of starters & mains.
I ordered garlic mushrooms which were ok, just basically mushrooms with melted cheese on top. I orsered the pork fillet for main course, however it was basically a pork chop that was burnt & had the texture of the sole of my shoe. There was no veg offered & the presentation of the food left a lot to be desired. When the waitress asked if I enjoyed my meal, I politely tried to explain how bad the pork was, however she just ignored me & walked off. I have to say that the service was dire, there was never any staff available if you needed any assistance & all in all it was an awful night. Also the drinks were very expensive & I feel this is how they obviously make their money when they put such offers on Groupon. I definitely would NOT recommend this restaurant.
