Its a huge property with a good pool. It doesn't feel like one's in Ranchi. The rooms are spacious with all modern amenities. The staff is very helpful and quick. The chinese restaurant is excellent.
Parking is no problem. Overall a brilliant property. The best hotel to stay at in Ranchi. Both thumbs up.

I was in Ranchi for a official meeting and never expected a hotel of 3star in Ranchi. Must say the hotel is one of the best property in Ranchi. The rooms are big n spacious n clean. Bathroom is also very clean and hygienic. They also arrange for car on demand and the hotel is just 2 mins from the railway station. The food is average and it takes some time to serve at the room but overall a nice stay.

BNR Chanakya at Ranchi is centrally located and across the railway station. It has different types of rooms but the best is the Heritage Suites. But a word of caution these are located in two wings, the one having lawn in front are the preferred ones, but the suites on the opposite wing are not very good and are noisy. They have free wi-fi, friendly staff, well stocked bar with cosy ambience, two dining halls- one of the Chinese but food is average. They have other rooms as well in the main tower. Best is that they have a lounge behind the reception desk where one can relax and work on laptop as wi- fi is available here. Exterior is capacious hosting marriage functions with enough parking place. All in all I will prefer to stay at this hotel whenever I visit Ranchi the next time.

Room Tip: Go for heritage On the lawn side, one can take morning or evening walk in the big lawn and is quiete...

Stayed for one night recently on a business trip. Excellent location and old world charm. You will never get such huge room with a king sized bed anywhere at such price. Service level good. But some inexplicable absences are also out of the world. They won't have minibars in the room. They won't provide bathroom slippers and will charge you exorbitantly if you ask for one. Bathrooms are dimly lit and to shave you have to come out to the dressing mirror or else you can cut yourself. The room I stayed in had the shower head broken. I complained to housekeeping as well informed front desk to take care. I was out the whole day, but no response and nobody knew a thing because the shift had changed. Breakfast spread is good. Mix of continental & Indian. So the best part of the hotel remains the old world charm of the British era property.

Room Tip: Take the rooms in the higher floors in the new wing. The lower floor windows are blocked because of...

We were in Ranchi for a Workshop. Though the venue of the workshop was not Chanakya but we stayed here for a night. The hotel is well situated and just opposite to Ranchi main Railway Station. One can easily here train siren in the night which may be considered as one of the few negative points. The hotel serves buffet BF, which is reasonably good as its offers a variety of items. It also has a Restaurant and food is also of good quality. The staff at the reception and restaurant is friendly. The hotel is specious and has enough space to have 4-5 programmes at a time. Garden inside the hotel is nicely maintained which adds value. Overall I found hotel comfortable. However, when asked for a slipper, I was told that it be provided at the cost of Rs. 82/- per pair and also the toiletries provided in the room is bare minimum. It also has Wi-Fi internet connection, free of cost and tea cattle and fridge in the room. While staying here, one may like to visit, Rajrappa which is situated about 65 km. from Ranchi.
