“Great location and good value for money.”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

We stayed for 7 nights and there is nothing we could fault on this hotel. The location was ideal for the places we wanted to visit , the castles, distilleries, lochs etc. The lady who checked us in was lovely. Our room was clean, bed comfortable and all staff we met were friendly both in the hotel and the beefeater restaurant. The receptionist ( young lady)charged us twice for our meal deals this was due to some technical fault on the system. She realised it and refunded and was very apologetic. The housekeeping offered room service but we didn't need it and we always asked for milk and tea which we got with no fuss. Extra towels always offered as well. The pub next door is great and good value for money. Once we had the meal deal. £44 for the 2 of us and that was a 3 course meal from a select menu including a drink plus all you can eat breakfast in the morning.
*There is an Indian restaurant nearby which is quite ok called AGRA if you want a change from the the lovely beefeater meals*

Great value for the cost. Good food. Close to the start of the West Highland Way. Recommend it for both breakfast and dinner. We used the package price for breakfast but not for dinner. Too much food in the inclusive option. Quality of food was quite decent. For breakfast, recommend the continental breakfast. You get an excellent variety of quality food without clogging your arteries with bacon and sausage.

Not normally someone who stays in these type of hotels when travelling on holidays, however, wanted to stay close by our Scottish friends and knowing we would only be sleeping and showering chose to stay here rather than a five star hotel in Glasgow like our last trip. We paid 161pounds for four nights so that tells you what to expect.

The good: Close to our friends, McDonalds just down the road for breakfast. Very friendly staff, free 30 mintues wifi daily. Great nights sleep, great pillows and firm mattress.

The bad: No phone in room, had to go downstairs for assistance. Therefore no one could ring us in the room (ie our friends and using mobile on roaming very expensive when you are from Australia and calls go back via Australia to you). No trouser coat hangers in the rooms, when went downstairs to ask for some (seeing as no phones in room) was told would send some (four days later still did not arrive).

No fridge or mini bar. Shower head fixed in place, so if you were tall you had to bend down to shower as you could not move it up. Shower over bath, water pressure very poor and hot water kept going on and off from hot to cold.

Very old TV and the sound could not be adjusted, ie if in bed a night it was fine if no noise in room, however when wanting to put morning TV or news on while getting ready for the day, could not hear it at all.

Did not eat at restaurant for breakfast or meals, no newpapers in the breakfast room, so easier to walk down the road to McDonalds for breakfast and free newspapers.
Basically its a no frills Inn,w e stayed in Room 58, and you get what you pay for. It was clean and seemed very popular for familes and hikers. Again good value for the price if you understand you are getting a basic hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the new windows as they were all being installed when we were there.

Just stayed here recently for a couple of nights on the way further North. Easy to find set back from the road behind the Resturant. Rooms were the usual Premier Inn so good sized, clean and quiet. There was some noise from the planes overhead but nothing to be concerned about. Best bit about the place was the excellent pub resturant next door. Not your usual Table Table fare but a really nice place with good food and god beer. Although that said the all you can eat breakfast was not as good as other Premier Inns.

We stayed for two nights and found everything good, from very friendly staff at reception to the room itself. We didn't use the free 30 minutes WiFi per day nor eat breakfast here, but it was very good value as we had boooked some time in advance. We didn't find the aircraft noise (it's close to the Glasgow Airport flight path) overly intrusive experiencing both landings at one stage and take-offs at another.

Room Tip: I suspect almost any room would be fine.

Can't fault this budget hotel. Excellent for the start of the West Highland Way. We were wanting a base close to Glasgow we could catch the train from. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room spotless.
