Had a nice walk in Mugdock Park, the parking on the road before you turn in to the park was terrible and eventually the police had to come and only allowed you to exit one way.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. Im sorry you experienced trouble on the roads outside Mugdock on the day you visited, this is something that has been highlighted to us in the past. There is a currently a consultation underway between the Police and the Roads Department and they hope to come up with a solution soon. Thanks again, Mugdock Country Park.

Visiting this park was a highlight of our trip from the USA. The park itself is so beautiful (we did not have enough time to explore it all) and we spent a lot of our time at Mugdock Castle. We had made arrangements ahead to meet a steward of the castle and he was the best! He took time with us to share his knowledge of the castle and the surrounding areas.

The office staff went out of their way to make sure we had all the information we needed to get the most out of our visit. They were fantastic!

We had lunch at the cafe by the walled garden and explored around there, too. It was the most peaceful atmosphere -we thoroughly enjoyed the natural setting which was a welcomed change from the bustling around we had been doing on previous days.

I recommend a visit to this lovely park. I know we hope to return some day.

Thank you so much for your glowing review! It was lovely to have you here at the Park and Castle, and I’m really glad you enjoyed your visit. I have passed your kind words on to Colin, the Castle Steward you had guide you on the day. He really is so knowledgeable and his enthusiasm can’t help but rub off on you! Hope to see you again some time in the future. Kind regards.

Mugdock is reasonably local for me and we often go there for a walk with the dog.
There is a variety of walks - ash paths and moorland walks round the loch and up to the castle.
Highland cows can be seen grazing in the fields just a few hundred yards from the Visitor Centre.
The Visitor Centre has a courtyard with 2 coffee shops a gift shop and a gallery.
50 yds away from the Visitor Centre is a garden centre with a very good selection of plants for sale and a popular restaurant, serving meals and/or coffee and cakes/scones.
Beside the garden centre is a walled garden with a bandstand which hosts "musical afternoons" from time to time. Last time we went a brass band was playing a selection of popular tunes and people sitting in the walled garden seemed to enjoy the entertainment
