We popped on for breakfast and it was excellent - for the hungry, go for the big Scottish breakfast, for the not so hungry go for the normal breakfast (1 of each breakfast item)

No toast - so order as a side

The coffee was great

We had a very nice late lunch today at the cafe alba.
It was just what we were looking for, tasty filling food & not too heavy.
It's situated in the precinct & it's a clean & comfy place with very friendly & cheerful staff.
We came across it just from a random out of the way drive & a desire to find somewhere that would provide a decent snack for us & also fulfill my sons expectations of what lunch should be, cheese sandwiches & a wee side of chips.
Which was exactly what was on the kids menu along with the other kids faves, so job done & happy days.
My better half had an omelette with smoked salmon & salad which she said was excellent & I had a soup & toastie deal (courgette & fennel soup & tuna & red onion toastie) and again it was excellent, lots of fillings on the toastie & the soup was just a touch away from piping hot with a little spicy kick to it. Perfect !
If I'm out that way again I'd definitely head back to the cafe alba.

Thank Brian W

Went in for a quick lunch and felt although the staff were lovely and the food was good, it was too expensive for what we got. The cafe is in a great location and is clean but it is very basic and lacking in character.

It's great when you get the chance to sit in & enjoy the food as the staff are pleasant & the food is fab. I most often get a wee take away, can't beat it...

This cafe in the center of Milngavie is worth visiting. For a cafe they have a good rage of dishes and all are freshly cooked ad of very good quality. The only minor issue is that, there are no soft surfaces in the cafe and as a result it can get quite noisy even with relatively few people in. If not for that it wold have had an excellent rating. If you are walking the West Highland Way a visit would get you fueled up before you start.
