“Good value for money”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

Have just returned from a week all inclusive at this resort. Was a bit concerned at the bad reviews but need not to have been. We stayed in the Gobi building which is just off the main pool area. The rooms were small but very clean with a daily maid service. The clientele were a mix of German, Dutch, British and think a few Italians. As for previous comments about noisy Germans, we found the only rather raucous people were sadly the Brits!
As for negativity about the food it was just what we expected, plentiful and always available be it in the restaurant or the snack bar. Yes the drinks are served in plastic 'glasses' but again it was expected!
On the down side the pool area is rather shaded with lots of trees which may be fine in the height of summer but at this time of year kept the sun out. Also as it is now the winter season the inside bar was open but only as a cash bar so all inc guests could not use it! Good job the weather was good because the outside bar was not covered!
Overall a good value for money holiday and think we got our monies worth twice over! Don't think I would like it in peak summer but for a cheap getaway would recommended it! Don't expect 5 star luxury for 3 star money!

Room Tip: Air con in Gobi needed but think in height of summer would not be of much use as rooms very hot

we have just returned from our 2nd visit to this "complex" this year, our 5th visit to date.and although dissapointed with our room this time (0006 in the gobi) we will definately be back.
when we checked into our room we were dissapointed to be on the ground floor of the gobi with a "patio" which is at the bottom of what could be described as similar to a lift shaft, however after talking to a charming couple from glasgow peter and michele who had a room (box) at the front of the building we decided that we were quite lucky!! (although the air con did'nt work)
as in our last visit's the food was plentiful and of a good quality (especially some of the soup's as i have mentioned in previous review's ).
the drink's (alcahol)no problem in plastic's and the staff as usual working thier hardest to keep the queue's to a minimum.thanks to ana chypi luis bartholme and the rest.
as i have said in previous review's the staff at this hotel are top quality and most have been there for year's,and they help to make this a true bargain holiday.
over our visit's met load's of people whom we had met on previous visit's, this time no different when we were reaquainted with our old friend charlie who was also on his second visit this year,
all in all great hotel great staff great company.
we would recommend this complex to anyone looking for a very good cheap all inclusive holiday'short 2hour flight,20 minute bus ride (no 21 get off at hotel arenal playa ) 3 euro's.
and we WILL be back (although hopefully not groundfloor gobi)

Room Tip: anything above ground floor, but if not happy complain to reception.

Have just returned from a 4night all inc break at this resort. Having off loaded the kids on the mother in law all we wanted was a cheap and cheerful break in the sun. And that is what we got. I was a bit worried about the holiday after reading all the bad reviews before we went but i really shouldn't have worried. We stayed at the Sahara and yes the accomodation is very basic, but clean and only a 2minute walk from the main hotel. The resort itself is typical 3 star all inclusive, a bit tired in places but everywhere was clean and staff were friendly. food was pretty good, always a good choice and we always found something we liked. The drinks were served in small plastic glasses which was a bit annoying as they were very small and meant numerous trips to bar. The beach and front at Arenal is only a 3 minute walk away, and was lovely. Overall a nice break, considering what we paid was very good value. I think the hotel room, all food and all drinks cost us £20 pp per night, so cannot complain. You get what u pay for. Some of the bad reviews are a bit unfair, if you want luxury and top class food pay for 5star, don't go cheap then complain. If you want a good value cheap break then you can't go wrong with this hotel.

I am currently lying awake at 5:36 am desperately trying to get back to sleep. Every night of this holiday I've been awake for hours due to the bar, people leaving the bar area at closing time then I get a few hours sleep before the party people return from the nightclubs not to mention the busses picking the noisy German folk when they have left then it's time for the bin lorrys and deliveries for the hotel....... Seriously I just want a bit of Kip !!!! Food is ok, snack bar is ok good value for a budget hotel if you don't mind rude noisy folk who keep you up all night. Staff are hard working except the rude guy at the reception rooms cleaned every day.

Weve just got back from a weeks stay at the Palma Bay Club Resort. When we arrived we were put in the Nubia Block. A bit of a walk from the main hotel, down a few side streets in quite a run down area. When we got to room we couldnt get into it and had to go to reception to change our key card. Managed to get in for a couple of days in our room, but then the key card didnt work again, so had to have another trip down to reception. We were put in a room with no windows or balcony. Very small but adequate for two people. The main hotel itself was clean and the food was nice and an ok choice of menu. There was a lot of germans there and the food reflected this. Our room was cleaned every day and was mainly clean and tidy. Didnt feel too safe walking about the back streets at night to get back to the hotel. There seemed to be a lot of africans around hassling us to buy sunglasses. The area near the hotel was constantly a meeting place for african women who harassed us to have hair braided. All in all, a cheap value for money holiday.

We visited the Club (which is more like a Resort) off season with an all-inclusive package. under £500 for 5 days for two. Great value considering that each of the three meals was an extensive buffet and that alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks are unlimited. The Club offers also lots of activities for free (with 20euro deposit) such as tennis, mini-golf, beach volley, table-tennis, Jacuzzi and sauna! The Club is accesable from the airport in Palma trhough one bus (23 if I don't mistake) and is connected to the city by one other bus. We suggest to go to the beach between balneario 3 and 4 since the water is very clear in that area. The beach is only 6 away minutes by walk.
The Hotel staff is very good!
