We stayed here from 12th - 19th November, we arrived about 9pm after monarch rescheduled our flight times so was ready and waiting to be sent to another hotel folr being double booked, but we were checked in quickly and given a room in the Hawaii block, given our waistband, so dumped suitcase in the room and headed for dinner.

The food was very good, normally a choice of salads and bread etc for starters, and a choice of two meat dishes, 1 fish dish, 1 vegetarian dish, 1 side vegetable and 2 potatoes (1 always chips), then selection of desserts and ice creams.

Breakfasts basically english, cold meats, cheese, yogurts, cereals, cakes, bread and jams.

At the weekend the hotel filled up with Spanish families, which made the restaurant noisy, but tells you how popular this hotel is if it is full in november.

Put on 6kg in the week, so says it all!!

Room was basic but comfortable, good shower, tv only had 2 english news channels but heating/air con is free unlike some other stays we have done.

The drinks where good, San Miguel beer, branded soft drinks and even smirnoff vodka (or at least the label said it was).

We paid the 15 euros for the internet pass that worked in our room too.

We took the bus (15/25) on the front to palma 3 times, did the open top bus tour which was good, did the return journey on the old sollier train, and visited ikea (get the bus 15 until you come to harbour outside palma, 10 minutes walk taking 2 bridges over duel carrageway), the store isn't that big, but we only wanted a small item.

Also visited the aquarium in the resort, this was very good too, maybe avoid weekdays as when we went past on the bus, there was crowds of school children waiting to go in, we went on the sunday when not too busy.

Would stay again soon.

Booked as a last minute escape from the terrible UK weather, my sister and I went a great girly break here. Majorca was great...for cycling, walking, and sight-seeing. And the weather was a definite improvement from the UK (first week of November).

Lots of folks complaining about this hotel..BUT, we found it clean, comfortable and the food was great! I don't eat breakfast as a rule, but managed about 6 courses every morning here, including cereal, fruit, yoghurt, bacon, eggs..etc! Definitely okay for the low cost of the stay. Dinner...again all very edible and plenty of it with lots of choices. No complaints at all from us, other than it would have been nice to try some spanish cuisine and the catering was very "English" (lots of chips, chicken, pork etc).

We paid all inclusive, but found the bar areas noisy and crowded so stayed clear (it was half term week!).. we "escaped" every day and explored the island. The hotel made a comfortable base to set out from and return to for a good evening meal. Half board would have covered us quite easily, and we didn't need lunch as breakfast was so good it lasted us all day.

The room (Gobi annexe) had no view, no balcony and was tiny..BUT it was comfortable and clean. Some folks paid a fiver a night or so to upgrade to the main complex which we could have done if it mattered to us. However, we were there to see Marvellous Majorca, not sit in a room all day. 2 minutes walk downhill, and we were on the lovely sea front at S' Arenal.

GREAT for scenic strolls while bird spotting! We walked from S' Arenal to Palma, seeing Egrets, Chats, Cormorants and Shags en route. Pleasant 3 hour walk by the sea, and only 1.5 euro for the bus back.We also saw a Hoopoe the following day when we took a pleasant stroll in the other direction. Loads of cycle hire places, and great LEVEL cycle routes in both directions were an option.

Palma itself is a beautiful city! Full of old streets, quirky shops and cosy restaurants. Flowers, cathedrals, castles, marinas..lovely!

We took the tourist train to Soller, over the mountains one day, which was expensive but worth it for the lovely views. My favourite day trip was to Alaro, where we travelled by bus, train and bus, then climbed the mountain to the castle and small restaurant at the summit. STUNNING! And very reasonable public transport costs and links.

What more can I say? If you want high class luxury in an exclusive and secluded hotel...go somewhere else! If you want a cheap base with appetising food and drink aplenty, and you are happy to walk for a couple of minutes to the beach or bus....? ... then book it!

My only disappointment was that a lot of Majorca seemed to be shut down in November, and it was hard to find information in English about some of the things I had hoped to do...canyoning, horse riding, wake boarding type of stuff. A bit of research before leavingthe UK may have helped here!

Room Tip: Pay for the upgrade if you want a better room with a balcony and a pool view. We had none in the Gob...

Arrived on Tuesday afternoon and got checked in-in less than 5 minutes and they had already upgraded our room to the main block as the others were getting a lick of paint etc. Room itself was very clean, albeit it we asked for a double bed and it was two singles pushed together, which caused some hilarity during bedtime!! There were fresh towels on the first day. Towels never really got replaced after that though! (maybe we weren't dirty enough for them ;op)-Although the room and sheets were changed every day. Most activities in the hotel had already closed down; such as the mini golf and the tennis, which was a bit of a shame because they would have been well utilised by the high volume of guests in residence.
Being all inclusive we were entitled to free drink and food obviously, the food was always well stocked and plenty of choice even for someone as fussy as me! A lot of reviewers here have complained about the long queues at the bar for drink...I, nor my partner never queued for more than four minutes and the bar staff were very prompt and pleasant, no matter how much times they had to explain it was a maximum of two drinks per person per visit to the bar. Also due to it being late season there were quite a few older people with walking difficulties which would have made it quite uncomfortable for them to be queuing for any length of time...
The surrounding area was very pleasant and the stunning beach was a five minute walk away.
Again as it was off season, a lot of the shops, bars and restaurants (and surrounding hotels) were closed, but the ones that were still open for business treated everyone very nicely. As things were closed down we ventured into Palma 3 days out of our 7. one euro fifty for the bus fare.(get the 25 next to McDonalds on the main beach strip as it's a direct trip with only 8 stops and takes about 20mins to get to Palma, as opposed to the 15 that also goes to Palma but stops at every single stop and takes about 40mins).
As mentioned earlier there was plenty of food on offer during the designated meal times which were;breakfast 730-10am, lunch 1330-1530 and supper 1900-2130, which gave us plenty of time if we were running late due to other places we were visiting. In another review they mentioned there was a free buffet with hot food...not on our trip I'm afraid..just a cold one with one type of cheese and 2 kinds of ham..but frankly after our 'proper' meals you really didn't need anything else. We also frequented two bars outside the complex, The Sportsman on the beach front which(obviously) shows the major football games, which is run by a cheery liverpudlian chap and the other bar was Bogart's which is run by two Glaswegian brother who were again very pleasant and always up for a laugh.
Having a wee look at youtube video's of the S'arenal, I would like to go back during the peak season to try some of the water sports and various other activities that would have been on offer to us, had it not been Siesta season.
Oh and one last thing...the Bingo nights in the hotel....if you can speak 4 languages you'll have a blast...but if your native tongue is English...LISTEN carefully....twas a good laugh regardless, even when we found out we had a full house, when checking the numbers back over when the game was done.

p.s...you've probably read already, but there are cats EVERYWHERE....outside the hotel..

We arrived on a sunday morning and where put in Accaulco block our room was right behind the stage which was very loud at night with folkes enjoying the outside bar, didn't mind to much as we joined in. there was hot snacks available in reception block and another bar which was opened in the havanna block if you didn't want to sit at th outside bar which we thought was fantastic, UNFORTUNATLY this didnt last as the hot snax closed dwn on the monday leaving us with just cold cheese n meat selection in the bar area, the indoor bar at the havana block also closed dwn on the mon leaving us with just the outside bar for entertainment but alas this also closed on the tuesday alonfg with the reception at the hawwii block and everything was moved inside our accomadation block which unfortunatly made the area very loud and busy and we had to wait in long ques for soft drinks and coffee especialy on the evenings wen everyone was drinking :( with the entertainment virtualy non existent and what was put on was pretty bad. The up side was the room was large and clean, the staff were all helpfull and friendly which made our stay much more enjoyable but the best thing was the FOOD ... a huge selection was available at every sitting and most of the dishes were of high quality and cooked and presented brilliantly. the beaches and the surrounding areas was beautiful and the busy Palma was only a short bus ride away which only cost 1.5 euro and ran every 5mins which was fantastic. I would definatly go back again but would hope to go earlier in the season when all of the complex is open with activities and decent entertainment being put on so to get my money's worth.

just back from spending a week at the palma bay hotel (Nov10-17)

wasnt sure what to expect ! Our first time in spain

hotel was extremely busy for November

room was adequate with double bed although the pillows are pretty poor :( cleaned on a daily basis
Food was varied and on the whole pretty good , always something for everyone ! for breakfast there was always bread , choice of bacon , eggs , sausage and other local cooked items along with a large selection of fruit ! lunch and dinner always had a choice of meats , fish , pastas and rice ! all trays were kept topped up

Drinks were available 1030 to 2300 from the bar and the choice was wide ! local beer , wines , sangria , spirits , local brandys of which i recommend the cherry , tea and coffee ! drinks were not measured but poured until the barman decided it was enough and we ended up with triples and even quadruples most visits ! only let down was they were poured into little plastic cups so you have to keep returning to the bar , there was always a queue but never too long that you would dehydrate , longest i queued for was around 3-4 minutes !

the complex itself is massive with putting , tennis , shooting , archery , volleyball , handball , sauna , jacuzzi , gymnasium , play park , 3 pools ! being winter though most of the ammenities were closed so we didnt get a chance to use some of them

All in all a pretty good holiday that represents good value for money

Went to this hotel end of october start of november. I was surprised how busy the hotel was. We arrived at eleven o clock but had to wait til two to check in. We stayed in the accapulo block, our room was right behind the stage which was good for us. The rooms was good, this is the first hotel that had double beds which was good saves pushing two singles together. I have been told the best block is the copacobana block so ask for that one. Think the hotel has four pools but we didnt look at them all just stayed round the nearest one. There was plenty of sun beds and the pools was cleaned every day. The pool was cold at this time of the year which is expected. The main bar area was really big, loads of tables and chairs and is a good sun trap. Your allowed two drinks each which most hotels do and theres plenty of choice. You can help yourself to soft drinks but theres alot of wasps flying around there. Your only allowed in the restraunt in your block. The restraunt gets very busy so go down early if possible. The food is not the best but its ok, theres always something for everyone. They have theme nights like mexican, chinese etc.One night they had half roast chicken on which was really nice. The snack bar was rubbish it didnt havev wat i expected, it had burgers once all week. It had chips and bread every day and nuggets and squid rings. The entertainment was boring, they have shows on every night but they wasnt very good. Theres a late disco in another block which was very good but you have to pay for drinks after 11. The jacuzzi was good only thing you only get half hour for the sauna and Jacuzzi together and have to book in advance. Avoid the Gobi, Sahara blocks as my friend stayed in this and its a few minute walk from the main block and the rooms are tiny. My mates room had no balcony and a window looking out to a fire escape which leaked. The hotel is based in middle of a housing estate which isnt the best area at night but nothing happened tho. The beach is very nice and has aload of shops at the front which is bout a five minute walk. If you want to watch some sport check out the sportsman bar which is a Liverpool bar. Its a really good bar and the prices of drinks is good too. The hotel is not the best but for the price of it you cant go wrong

Room Tip: ask for the Copacabana block

I have just returned from a three day break at this hotel for my birthday :) the hotel itself was very clean and we'll worth watching we paid :) the hotel had a few complexes we stayed in the main building which was very busy for it being November the rooms were a good size with all the basics we needed for a pleasant stay :) we stayed all inclusive, the food was alrite breakfast was very enjoyable and I always found sumthin I liked at all meal times even if I couldn't there was a mcds nearby :) the drinks were good but I was quite disappointed in the bar area it was more like a social club rather than a bar but for a few days it was fine couldn't do a week here or more, the weather was lovely for November had a few walks along the beach front pool area was alrite but didn't see much of this due to it being November was warm but not warm enough to go in the pool etc, the hotel itself had a good few activities available for free such as mini golf and table tennis there also was a jacuzzi and sauna :)) so for a few days away its perfect x
