Palma Bay Club Resort
Ranked #70 of 78 Hotels in Playa de Palma

THIS IS MAINLY A GERMAN & SPANISH HOTEL

We arrived, after being delayed at Manchester for 3 hours then another 2 hours at Palma for our bags to come through, we was then told the same old "NO ROOM AT THE INN" story like most people were getting on here. We was plonked into a taxi and sent to Luna Park or German Hotel of the week!! This hotel was ok for one night it was clean the food was ok and beds were quite comfy and we were absolutely wrecked after being awake all previous night so just had couple of beers and slept.

Next day (Saturday) arrived back at Palma Bay at 10am got our wristbands and key for luggage storage and told we was in acapulco which is one of the best blocks to be in and we got 2 tickets for the aquarium worth 40 euros which was well worth it as aquarium has a 82metre shark tank largest in europe & only 1.5 euro on bus and free return with your aquarium ticket.

Rooms in here were huge had 2 single beds and a sofa tv etc - beds were rock hard tho.

So lucky not to be staying down the road as Nubia & Sahara are well out of sight of hotel - Gobi is spitting distance so imagine not too bad. Nubia is opposite an all night cafe bar and on the main bus route so from what people said who we talked to it was very noisy.

Our hotel room was cleaned every day - the food was terrible apart from the jelly and rice pudding lol - but i still filled my 7 bellys tho as was hungry.

Drinks at pool bar were ok if you got the spirits (vodka etc) beer was really watered down and the cocktails were ready mixed in a dispensing machine and think it had been shown the alcohol but none put in it lol

When the coffee machine was working it was ok

The shows at night were like a cheap butlins act only repeated in about 6 languages - but this is mainly a german & spanish resort none of the uk operators (Thomas cook etc) come to el arenal.

The parrot show was ok but paying 15 euros for what you thought was gonna be 2 high quality pics took the mick we got told we get 2 professional hiqh quality pics we got a big pic and a little one free both the same picture tho!!!

My advice get out at night go down the front loads of good bars including the sportsmans liverpool bar that has all the premier games on and english beer if u want it for 3 euro

Also go down to Double Dutch (Happy Days) Bar they speak really good english and make you feel really welcome also their cocktails blow u away decent beer too 3.50 euro for beer 5 euro for strong cocktail also lots of free shots throughout night we was drunk the night before our day trip.

I can understand the negative comments of people getting stuck out in nubia & sahara & gobi its a bit of a hike up the hill from them back to the main hotel for ur meals etc. We paid extra before we went to guarantee main hotel. If u wanna upgrade when there its 70 euro per week extra.

Staff were nice & friendly and Maria the customer services manager is helpful & friendly if u dont go kicking off on her like some people did about their rooms.

Would say this a 2* not 3* but we had great views from our balcony and loved the weather - wouldnt go back tho as it so expensive with the euro

Room Tip: Pay to stay in Hawaii, Acapulco or Habana it worth the extra

Just back from holiday had a great time. Will go back next summer . Thank you to the animation girls , my kids loved them. Was really nervous about going after reading trip advisor reviews . Need not have worried . Food lovely, place spotless.

After reading the many bad reviews about this hotel, myself and three other ladies were full of trepidation. However, what a surprise! Yes, there was a pleasant little walk to go for meals (good for digestion), but the whole place was spotless, our sheets/towels were changed daily, staff were very helpful and the food although not gourmet of course, was absolutely fine. For the price we paid, this represents extremely good value.

We have just returned from another great holiday at the Palma Bay club resort. Once again the facilities, food, drinks and overall experience were brilliant. We paid £104 each for a week all inclusive with Alpharooms just 3 weeks before went. Excellent value for money! Cant wait to book again for next year!

Room Tip: Rooms in the Sahara and Nubia are on a main street so you do get traffic noise.

Lovely beach right through to Can pastilla, n Palma,Had agood time, even with the over booking problem.but this happens a lot.my rating would av been more apart from the over booking .

Just had a 4 night all inclusive break here and it was great. If you want a good time and are prepared to go out and do a bit of walking, its a great place. I suspect that the people who moan about being 100m from the main complex to go for your food ( which is good for the cost ) may be a little less mobile than some of us, ie they make the ground shake when they walk.
Rooms very clean, always new towels and sheets every day. Security guard at night got rid of the odd loud moron around the place so we slept very well.
A great bar straight down on the front from the hotel "Double Dutch Happy Days" was a great place to go. He opened at 10.00pm and shuts at 6.00am. Loved every minute we were in there and I am over 50.
Just go and make a great holiday of it, its a bit like Benidorm (the TV programme) but if you can get past that, its a fun place to be with a great group of friends.

Room Tip: High up rooms are better, no problem facing the pool entertainment area as it finishes at 11.00pm.

We looked long and hard for a last minute holiday, looking through most of the on line sites and trip advisor reviews. We finally decided on the Palma Bay Resort as flights and hotel were available for the days we were wanting. Flight with Monarch - on time, transfer to hotel - short and sweet, checking in, not possible as 'HOTEL FULL'. Not Happy Bunnies.
We were aware of the overflow Hotels and requested when booking not to be placed in one of them. Taxi ordered and whisked off to the 4 star Mediterean BayHotel about a mile away. We were able to use facilities of both hotels as in same group. (Seperate review)
Although not sleeping at the Palma Bay we did eat there some days and to be fair the food was not all that bad. There was a good choice, it was hot and well presented in a typical spanish buffet style restuarant. It was not 'Al a Carte' and at the price paid it shouldn't be expected by some of the previous reviewers. Food and drink are available from 10.00 until 23.00 and families can get as much or as little as they want, some more than others. If you want to sit around all day and drink, then you can. (Not for us). Entertainment comes in the way of the Animacion team who offer games for kids and adults and an evening entertainment programme.
Staff were pleasant and willing to offer help wherever possible in what is a very busy Hotel.
If we had not been moved to another hotel we would have made the most of the Palma Bay which is more focused on groups and families rather than couples wanting a quieter holiday.
Overall, its not really as bad as some reviewers say.

Room Tip: Try and get away from the rooms overlooking the stage and bar area.
