Nice hotel with excellent food and clean comfortable rooms. We were on the 3rd floor not in the main building but overlooking a spare piece of land which looks as if it will be developed before long. This would be better than the present view.
For the whole week we never spoke to another English person, the remaining guests were all Germans who lacked good manners always letting doors close in your face. Not the fault of the hotel. Maybe a lone French person.
The weather was glorious for the whole week well into the 30's. Air conditioning everywhere so no problem there.
Deposit of 10 euros for each towel for sun bed loungers, alright until they were removed by some other guests who denied they had taken them but after about 3/4 hour found they did have a conscience and brought them back.
Food and drink plentiful all day and free bottles of water from reception.
Biggest complaint was the quality of the towels, you could shoot peas through the bathroom towels and the pool towels. Not worth 10 euros if one did want to put them in their case to take them home!
A pool attendant would be useful to assist with organising the sun beds and stopping the reserving of beds. Despite notices everywhere nobody took any notice.
Would be happy to return despite these few niggles.

Good and plentiful food with a nice pool and a great beach across the street. Staff was great --Antonia @ pool bar was excellent. Yet be prepared for shouts of "Deutshland Deutschland" late into the night. Entire area of Palma focused on German only tourists. This hotel was largely family oriented but beach is basically 18-24 year olds with a "Spring Break" mentality..very amusing to watch but not for relaxation.

We had a very good time but have had better times in other areas of Mallorca which were a little more upscale. Yet all-inclusive value was excellent with good drinks, bottles of water for the beach and snacks available at all times.

We stayed for a week at this hotel. The hotel is very busy. It was full the whole time we were there. Like most hotels in playa de Palma space is at a premium. The pool area is small for the number of rooms and has a lot of greenery. Most of the sun beds are close together and the pool itself is very small for the number of residents. Although there is a rule about reserving sun beds it is ignored and we found ourselves going down about 8am not just to get a bed but one where you had a little space from the next bed. Most of the reasonable spots were gone by about 8.15am. There are enough beds but not enough parasols and mattresses.

The hotel is 100 yds from the beach which itself gets very crowded with sun beds and parasols about 15 euros a day. The promenade itself is packed most of the days with young (many intoxicated) German boys and girls. There is noise at the hotel from rowdy groups especially at the weekends.

The clientele is almost 100% German mostly elderly although it does suffer from the stag and hen parties at the weekends. The all inclusive basis means many of these are rowdy and intoxicated. At the weekends the swim up bar area can be a bit of a no-go area. Most of the Germans are friendly and courteous but because a large majority smoke there is a constant drift of tobacco smoke in the outside section of the restaurant, the bar terrace area and around the pool.

The hotel rooms are not large but they are well equipped, modern and well maintained. The balconies are close to each other but nice to sit outside. I would recommend floor 3 or above and facing the pool. There are no sea view rooms. The only English TV channels are BBC world news and Sky news and the reception is poor. The bathroom is OK but the towels are a bit thin and could do with replacing.

The food as usual in a RIU hotel is very good and one could eat all day if required. The bars serve local drinks with pre-prepared cocktails and the measures are very liberal. The only complaint is regarding the wine which is from a tap and which is luke warm. White or Rose wine served warm with Ice does not float my boat. We saw someone ordering a bottle of wine on our last night but were unaware we could buy wine if we wanted.

The staff and service throughout was efficient and friendly and could not be faulted especially the bar staff who did an excellent job both in the evening and at the pool bar. The evening entertainment was mediocre but with the drink included wasn’t that bad that you felt you had to go out.

In summary not a relaxing place to go more suited to younger people. It was however good value for the price we paid.

Room Tip: 3rd Floor or above Facing the Pool

We spent the first two weeks of May here and travelled with Saga. Overall, this is a fine hotel in every way. We had requested a room overlooking the pool with a sunny balcony on the third floor. When we arrived it wasn't ready. We were offered an inferior room, but gladly waited, particularly as we were offered champagne and advised to go for lunch. The dining arrangements are as follows. Two sittings for dinner 6.30 and 8.30 at a fixed table. Very early or late for us. We opted for 6.30, as the entertainment started at 9.00. For lunch and breakfast you eat when and where you like. On most days at lunch, we sat outside in a most delightful setting. When we were able to get to our room, it was really nice, with a fridge, safe and bowl of fruit included. We had sun from sunrise to about 16.00, and my goodness it was very hot most of the time.
The hotel is extremely well managed and every one, yes every one of the staff we encountered couldn't have been more helpful. I would think the hotel was full when we were there. As others have mentioned, most guests are German, courtesy of TUI but so what? This part of Mallorca is practically Munich on Sea. They have a month long German beer festival in September, and my guess is that the area gets pretty lively from June onwards. Majorca was liberated from the Moors by the Catalans and they staunchly defend their national identity from Spain, but have apparently been happy to let the Germans in! When we bought stamps for the cards, they were not Spanish but Swisspost. If you want a British resort don't come. The hotel is well placed 2 mins from the seafront, and even closer to the bus stop for Palma. If you walk to the seafront and turn left, in one minute you reach a good EuoroSpar on your left below street level. There is a useful Noddy Train along the seafront, if you get tired, which will take you to C'an Pastilla in one direction and almost to Arenal in the other. On the evening of the F.A Cup Final, we had to walk almost two miles from the hotel towards Arenal to find a bar that was screening it. They were all showing Bundesleague games. Eventually we came to The Liverpool Bar. A tiny little place with friendly staff and cheap beer. When the Liverpool 'goal' was disallowed, I distinctly felt the walls tremble.

The restaurant was immaculate and you were always given a friendly greeting on arrival. The reason I have docked a star is as follows: Although the soups were generally very good, at times they had the texture and taste of 'catering can' soup. The paella was made with noodles rather than rice -bizarre. Whenever I chose a dish with rabbit, it was 80% bone. Some of the grilled meats were practically inedible. But the roast meats, carved in front of you were mouth wateringly good. There was wonderfully fresh fish griddled at most lunchtimes, a wonderful variety of fresh salad starters, and splendid cheeses each day. Try the Majorcan cheese - excellent. Plenty of good shellfish, but Oh! for a decent paella!
On most days, you were offered a dinner booking at the outdoor grill by the pool. We only ate there once, as my wife eats no meat. We had splendid tapas to start and then excellent tuna.
Incidentally, plenty of choice here for vegetarians.
The organisation in this restaurant was of the highest standard. It was good to see some of the chefs near the door who were happy to chat with you about the dishes.

The bar served the most generous measures I have ever encountered. A great range of cocktails too, including non-alcoholic ones. Free wine was available in the restaurant and in the bar area all day, together with beer and soft drinks. During the day the pool bar was open, and snacks were available most of the day there. The free bar went on until midnight and did not cease at 23.00 as stated in the Saga brochure. Antonia was a real star, and grasped your hand with 'Hello my lovely' She promised to take us to her home next time we came, as her mum would make us a real paella.

The gym and spa were free of charge and open most of the day. Whenever I went to the gym I was the only one in there. The steam room, sauna and whirlpool were better used. On one occasion I was in the whirlpool with a couple of fellow Saga ladies, when three very large German males approached. They shrieked and started to get out. Then I noticed as the Germans dropped their towels that they were in the altogether. Be warned. There is also an icy plunge pool, which I avoided.

Sun loungers around the pool with parasols were 'booked' by towels from as early as 08.00, and there are simply not enough parasols to go round, but you could always go to the beach, plenty of them there.

The four trips incuded by Saga were all worth going on, and we went to Soller ourselves on the wooden train. Don't miss Soller -its a gem.

Entertainment was reasonable, but I wouldn't specially stay in for it. The Flamenco show was our favourite, followed by Elvis.

Thank you Hotel Riu Bravo, and well done! You set high standards and see that they are achieved in all departments. If your other hotels are as good as this, then you take some beating.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road would get sun in the evening and afternoon. We liked our room on the third flo...

My husband and I, together with five very good friends have just spent a week at the Riu Bravo. A lovely hotel in a very good location. Clean, comfortable rooms and the choice of food in the restaurant was excellent. We picked a good week to go, especially as the U.K was very wet and cool, whilst the weather in Majorca was wonderful - certainly a lot hotter than we could have hoped for at this time of the year. The hotel staff were very polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble and we would certainly recommend this hotel.

Hotel staff were very good and entertainment was provided every evening. The hotel is well placed for travel to Palma from where services radiate to every corner of the Island. The Playa boasts a beautiful beach and promenade five miles long and is traffic free - apart from ubiquitous cyclists. We travelled independently and simply got a taxi from the airport rank (15 euros) but were even better served on the way back by getting the no 21 bus which runs to and from the airport every 30 mins and serves all the establishments along the Playa. One matter of note (and I mention this only as a plain fact) the whole of the Playa was full of German tourists at the time we visited. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Our only comment is that the walls are not very well soundproofed
