The food was pleasant. We went all inclusive in January, we're under 30, and we're English. We would never do this again. The hotel was completely filled with, and focused towards, elderly Spanish people. At this time of year the whole place is like a ghost town, with only a few bars and no clubs open. Probably a much different story in the summer. I would never go to Mallorca in the winter again. And to be honest, we probably wouldn't stay in this hotel again if we went back in the summer.

Room Tip: There are no sea views.

Returned to this hotel following a great trip three years ago with a large group of friends. How things have changed. On arrival we were asked to provide a copy of our passports, nothing unusual here, however we were then asked to submit to fingerprinting in order to be able to use the all-inclusive bar facilities !!! Would you be willing to let a hotel gather your passport and fingerprint data without any explanation of how they will dispose of the data gathered? The hotel restricted all-inclusive drinks to a very poor range of low-quality drinks.
The hotel has been left to deteriorate over recent years. I understand that there is now new owners. Not great quality and although the staff were friendly enough we won't be back.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

We are a couple and we went with a baby in December 2012. It was full of Spanish golden oldies and to say the Spanish LOVE babies and young children is an understatement! He was spoiled for attention. When we first got there we had to demand a cot as one hadn't been provided despite numerous emails. Edward on reception seems to have a particular dislike for anyone who can speak English. The shops around the resort will try to sell you two left shoes or the right dress in a size you didn't ask for, that's if you still have your wallet by then. There's pickpockets in the hotel bar. And watch out for the street vendors! The hotel is not in the ideal location, if we went back we would stay in a real city/village and not a tourist resort. The trip we made to Palma was amazing! The airport lost our pram and hotel reception refused to help (it wasn't there problem) and when the baby was violently sick in the small hours they refused to call a doctor or even bring milk to the room (they don't do room service).

The thing that made this holiday worthwhile was the friendliness of the Spanish golden oldies (although they don't know how to que, although that's a British thing anyway) the ballroom dancing that the baby loved, the friendliness of the bar staff and the trip into the amazingly beautiful city of Palma.

I would recommend this hotel to the thick skinned people on a budget but stay vigilant when shopping, but next time we'll stay in Palma just for the location.

We stayed at hi lancaster, majorca all inclusive for a week in november 2012 and couldnt fault anything at all! There was a good variety of food at every mealtime. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We wouldnt hesitate to stay here again if we come to majorca.

Plus points, good location for clubbing, (if you are German) the bar staff were friendly.

Bad points: the room was dirty and housekeeping didn’t clean at all!
When we booked this holiday we were aware that this a German resort (have been to the area previously), the hotel was purely an 18-30 German destination.
DO NOT go all inclusive, the food was vile, the bread was very stale and the ‘hot plate’, wasn’t; so all food was cold and covered in congealed fat.

Room Tip: Try a different hotel! Do not go pool side!

We have traveled to Majorca and stayed in the Arenal/Playa de Palma area always and each hotel has offered something different. Being here with the group of Spanish Pensioners everything is convenient and close by. The bus stops to Palma are close, the beach is 4 streets away. It is easy to walk everywhere or use the transport. The food is excellent. I have a eating disorder and the staff have catered fantastically for my needs. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is older but repainted and spotless. Their are a lot of social rooms and places for everyone. Being there for Easter holidays the hotel had a mixture of the pensioners, families, young adults and people of several nationalities and there was no problem as it offers something for every age. I am sure in the summer it is busy and noisy but off season it has been great. The only fault that we found is that the sound carries in the bedrooms but after hours it is quiet. A definite for a possible return.

Room Tip: If you are an early sleeper has a room not over the activity room.

Me and my thirtysomething single friend decided on a last minute holiday over easter - a 5 night all inclusive trip to Playa de Palma, staying in Hotel Lancaster. Had a good time but would be bored after 5 days. Lots of Spanish pensioners - that's not a bad thing but wouldn't recommend it for young people out for a good time or families with children - only because the pool is small and only in the sun from 4pm, so freezing! And the entertainment  is geared towards senior citizens (ballroom dancing etc) Staff were very friendly & rooms were cleaned daily. We were lucky with the weather but bored on our one rainy day - not much entertainment at the hotel or much to do in the surrounding area. German pubs and a few strip clubs (?!) Surprisingly there are no traditional Spanish restaurants in the vicinity - it's all German or Italian cuisine. Not an ideal location for those wanting a cultural holiday, but good if you want very quiet rest and relaxation! Read the other reviews about it being an 18-30s German hotel with wonderment - we couldn't imagine it at all! But that must be the difference of going in summer rather than spring (we went in April)
