Stayed for one week self catering, the apartment was large and clean, didn't spend any time in the complex as it only really catered for the all inclusive clients.
The complex is only a 10 minute walk away from the harbour with its bars and restaurants; the beach is a 20 minute walk.
Only downside to the apartments are you have to put a deposit down before you can get, remote for the telly, kettle, toaster etc.
Overall the apartments offered value for money.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here self catering from the 3rd-10th of September 2012 and had a great time. We'd been on a few outdoor holidays earlier in the year so this was a chance to relax and get some sun. Like most people have said the reviews make you a bit apprehensive before you go but there really is nothing to worry about (unless of course you go self catering and had to hire kitchen equipment like we did but you get by).

Arrival/Transfers - I'd consider getting a taxi rather than wait ages on the transfer. Ours was one of the last drop offs and we could have got a taxi in half the time. Check in was fast and simple and the women on the desk was pleasant enough. I think some people expect the red carpet rolling out for some reason.

Rooms - Big and Spacious! We stayed in 152 which was right above the pool. Obviously you hear everything going on at the pool but the noise was barable. As we were self catering we were out until after 11pm (when the bar closes) anyway so you didn't get all the noise whilst people were still sat out. People sometimes jump in the pool at night etc but we could put up with it and got to sleep easily enough. The rooms are basic and as I previously mentioned even if you are self catering you still need to hire toaster, kettle etc. There isn't even a kitchen towel, cloth or things like that. Rooms are cleaned every 2 days (not bedding) and any maintenance issues were sorted the same day. I took a small desk fan with me rather than hire one and it was great for blocking any noise out at night. We hired a safe for 20 euros (you get 10 back) but that's all we hired.

Location - Yes it's at the top of the hill but the walk either way is very pleasant (even uphill as it isn't steep). 3 euros for a taxi if you don't fancy it but the meter hardly even has chance to go up and you're already in town! 3 supermarkets nearby, 2 on the main hill and the nearest and quickest to get to is located at the back of flora apartments (out the hotel, turn left and then right). I think it is classed as the 'Oldtown' and it certainly is dated compared with the main area. There is a Mexican restaurant half way down the hill on the left (El Buro or something but correct me if I'm wrong) which was excellent and a life saver on our first night as we got there late and couldn't be bothered walking anywhere.

Pool/Pool area - People weren't lying when they said it was deep and it isn't warm either! Nevertheless it's very refreshing if you've been in the sun and need to cool off. Seemed clean enough as well. We were there for a week and didn't see any kids in the time we were there (probably back at school) so most people seemed to be ok in terms of not drowning etc. Sunbeds could always be acquired without any problems whatever time of day. Only negative was witnessing the pool cleaners using the same mop they had cleaned the floor with to wipe down some of the tables. There is also a pool 'snack' bar but we were informed that you can't buy snacks (make of that what you will) so just went out at lunch time.

Overall had a great time and if all you want is somewhere that is cheap, has guaranteed sun and is in a decent location then look no further. If you pay 3* prices then that's all you can expect. People who want more will have to cough up.

Room Tip: If you are self catering be prepared to have no kitchen equipment unless you want to hire. Also I wo...

Most disappointing!! While appreciate that it was reasonably cheap, there really was no excuse for the below par standards!!! Te room was in dire need of refurbishment, the room wasn't cleaned all week, we in fact had to go in search of a cleaner to get clean (threadbare) towels. She made an appearance one day, just emptied the bins, no sweeping/dusting etc!!!

Food was usual, everything deep fried and unpalatable.

"Luck Lucky" men have a stall there, so you are continuosly harrassed!!

Everything served in plastic cups, and whole pool area littered with them!!

Staff have zero intersst in being there, barely acknowledge you most days!

Very noisy at night time, no securiy patroling the grounds to control loud drunks!

I would recommend here, if you are a teenagers who just want a cheap drink fuelled week and are not paticular about your surroundings, drink or food!

Me and my partner travelled here for 1 week (19th-26th Sept) and overall we had a good holiday as the main purpose was for us to chill out and relax. However, although we would not hesitate in coming back to Lanzarote, we have agreed that we would not be returning to the Los Fiscos.

Firstly, let me give you what we believed to be the GOOD POINTS about the hotel:

* The hotel was clean and well maintained - no obvious signs of any major neglect to the grounds, the rooms were cleaned every second day whilst we were there.

* The food overall was good - seemed like there was plenty of choice for everyone, although desserts were a bit bland and the food got a bit 'sameish' towards the end of our stay.

* Had no problems finding a sunlounger - often go in the afternoon when you would think they would be taken but always managed to find some spare, just lacked in number of parasols available to everyone so you had to be early if you wanted one of them.

* The location was suitable for us - nice and quiet yet only a 10-15 minute walk if you wanted to go into the main strip.

Now for the BAD POINTS from our point of view:

* Our room was horrible, completely out-dated and looked like some run down B+B. It had a door connecting the adjacent room (albeit locked) but we didnt feel that was good for either party in terms of noise and privacy.

* We specifically asked for room with balcony and terrace when we booked the holiday and paid extra to ensure we got that. We were allocated a ground floor room (obviously with no balcony) when I complained to reception the lady was far from helpful. Told us we did not request it with them and walked away. First impressions of her did not go down well with us!!

* The drinks were served in little plastic cups - although you could get 2 drinks at a time per individual, you still had to keep getting up to the bar as they were drunk in no time. Made us feel like we were little kids not trusted with proper sized glasses!! Also the drink was the cheap stuff - it would take a proper lightweight to even get merry there let alone drunk - very poor!

* Had to rent a fan if you wanted one (15 euro for week) as there is no air con in rooms. Had to pay 10 euro deposit (which you got back) for a remote for the TV just to be able to change channel! WIFI had to be paid for - infact anything you wanted had to be paid for. For all inclusive you felt like you really were getting bare minimum back.

* Entertainment was almost non-existent. Activities during day were dire and I refused to join in based on that reason alone. The girl did bingo each night ( a cost of 5 euro for 6 tickets) which was a bit lame and a quiz some nights which were pathetic! Could have done better myself! Facilities for entertainment were not there - the room just had a few chairs, dancefloor, glitterball and an old TV - none of which were used but if u saw it you could see why!

Obvioulsy everyone has their own criteria when booking a holiday and for a cheap break in the sun this hotel did serve that purpose. But if you are looking for an All Inclusive deal where everything is catered for then you won't find that here in our opinion. It is only a 3 star granted so shouldn't expect the earth but we would rate it a weak 3 star compared to other places we have stayed in.

We just returned from this Hotel, Now before i start can i say ive been 5* and other 3* hotels and i paid 1300 for 10 day stay AL, compared to other 3* hotels ive been to this doesnt even match up to them, we stayed in a room that needed a total refit, the curtains were torn, the cover on the settee was torn, the walls were custard yellow with writing all over them, the towels smelt and were extremely thin. Now lets talk about the food, the best part is the breakfast carnt complain, full english, but then it goes down bank, on a couple of night they served Rabbit which looked liked it had been on hunger strike before it was cooked it was all bones in the tray, laughtable to think we were going to eat that.
There were however positives about the hotel, them being Charlie the entertainer she worked really hard trying to entertain us all, then there was Franklin and Yuri on the bar good lads.

Room Tip: stay at home

We always write good and bad points, (if any) for any review necessary, so we will make no exceptions for the Blue Sea Los Fiscos. Starting with negative points:

1. It was a big mistake going for the 'All inclusive'. It would be easier to go to Lanzarote on self catering and eat out. The price of your holiday would probably be the same. Drink is served in small, very flexible plastic cups. It is immediately apparant that the local alcohol is the cheapest, most inexpensive they can get. Ashtrays for those who smoke is one of these cups with water in it for the butts.
2. Although the food is provided cleanly and plentiful, it is bland and we found it hard to take more than three days worth before venturing further afield. Once we went elsewhere, we were never going back. The food in local restaraunts is excellent in some cases.
3. The hotel cannot get enough extra cash out of its clientelle. As there is no air conditioning, (Lanzarote is hot) a fan can be purchased for the week at a cost of 20 euro. There is a safe in each room but to get a key, you guessed...it's 20 euro for the week.WiFi for phones etc is 25 euro for the week where it is easier to go to a local bar and get it for free.
4. Beds in the rooms were like sleeping on a board. Thank heavens we were only there for a week.

In support, most of the staff are helpful and polite, especially the bar staff and the pool staff. The reception staff are helpful as well. The town is only a 10-15 minute walk away but the accommodation reminded us of Billy Butlins with sun. We won't return as it was not the cheapest holiday and we spent more than we budgeted for. It seemed popular though when talking to other residents they mainly thought the same as us. Choose carefully, there are a lot of better places to stay and although we never really studied Trip Advisor previously, (or before the holiday) we can understand why it is listed low in the ratings. Not a mistake we will make a second time.

Room Tip: Rooms over the pool are noisy, (most activity is here). Rooms are easy to get to so if you want a se...

Was worried about going to these apartments having read the previous reviews - shouldn't have been!! The rooms were clean and spacious. There were 4 of us in our room and there was plenty of room. We stayed here from 20th Sep to 23rd Sep 2012 as part of a hen party. The food was absolutely fine - we ate plenty!! The pool was clean and there were plenty of sunbeds - no one can reserve beds as they are kept locked up until 10 - brilliant idea!! The bar staff (Yuri & Franklin) were brilliant and Charley did her best to get us all joining in all the activities she had organised. I would honestly go back there again - either with my friends or for a cheap half term break with my family! Only a 20 Euro cab ride from the airport and a cab to the strip (pubs, clubs and restaurants) was only 4 Euro's - couldn't ask for more!!

Room Tip: There's no A/C but as we were higher up room 145 (top floor) and got a bit of a breeze through t...
