Costa Volcan Apartments
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We originally booked at panorama apartments but on arrival were told that there was a plumbing problem and we were moved to Costa Volcan. These apartments were clean,,spacious, excellent maid service every day.Reception staff were not over friendly but ok.No air conditioning unfortunately but could hire a fan.Pool area and bar were4 fine.Only bug bear was the noise and music from the open air bar on the street outside which was licensed til 4 or 5 in the morning.hence no sleep!!!When spoke to receptionist she said couldnt do anything about it as had nothing to do with the hotel.Had the feeling that this is a common complaint.
The apartments overlooking the pool seemed to have no noise problems.
As we said hotel was good but would suggest you ask for a room overlooking the pool cause the noise from the bar is horrendous and unacceptable and goes on and on all night long.

Room Tip: choose pool side only

Just back from the Costa Volcan for the 3rd year in a row. Only complaint I have is the pool could be a lot cleaner a lot of scum around the tiles in the pool but it is cleaned every day maybe not well enough.

Like the rest of the reviewers said try your best to get an apartment overlooking he pool, could do with air conditioning especially in the bedrooms.

Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you.

Hopefully if we go back to Lanzarote next year we'll be staying in the costa Volcan.

Had a week here in mid August.Again after reading mixed reviews decided to try it as we had been to Lanzarote before and enjoyed.Location is good but position of the hotel is let down by main road on one side and the layout of the rooms as you hear people dragging their cases throughout the corridors at night and people saying good night when they are leaving Clancy's bar which can be reached via level three of the hotel.
We were initially given room 215 which overlooks the Irish bar where every patron can watch you leave or enter you room. This room which shouldn't be used for guests, you feel as if the pub is actually in your room due to the noise and music.Although the live music ends at midnight they put on music until around 2am.I asked to be moved but as it was late at night.I was told to ask again in the morning,I spoke to reception they agreed to move me the next day to the third floor without any problems. One we were moved it was fine although another let down is the lack of air conditioning which if installed would make a huge difference.
Poolside would benefit from having umbrellas as no shade but no issues regarding sunbeds
Poolside bar is a bit steep as they charge if you 6 euros for 2 cokes which is nearly£5.
You can buy 2 litres from the supermarket for 2 Euros.
Apartments are basic but everything worked in the rooms ,tv can be changed without renting a remote control and a storage facility and courtesy room are available free of charge on the day of departure.
Budget hotel probably seen its best days.

Room Tip: Poolside is a must ,level one if you have children.Levels 3 and above you get a sea view. avoid roo...

Just back from a 11 night stay at costa volcan, We had a great holiday , we booked last minute and with not much choice we settled on this apt, was a bit wary after all the reviews but Ii have to say it was great, very clean, with daily cleaning, great reception staff also great location, only thing is you really need to try and book the pool side of hotel as front is noisey, we had a 1st floor pool side 1 room apt and was quiet, and spacious. Pool bar is very good and run by a lovely couple, happy hour from 6pm to 10pm, so cant fault that. We will stay here again next year as great value for money and as I say great staff.

Room Tip: try and book poolside

we stopped here in febuary for 2 weeks, we booked into panarama appartments but was moved here due to plumbing fault. Whilst here we stopped at different locations and come back to find the locks changed and guests in our room and our items in room no longer known where they are.
We complained but was told to leave before police arrive and arrest us. Time now 730pm no where to go. we had to find our own accomodation with our little girl very upset as the man at the hotel very aggressive towards us.
After 6 months the travel company gave us £151 to compensate half the room cost. We still had to pay out for other hotel costs and our things missing.
A1 trasvel are not 24 hours so can not help and it quotes they are abta but they book through other companies who are not abta so it is not thier responsibility,
My advice dont go here if you do dont leave your room more than 2 nights and dont leave things important in room un attended as during our stay things did go missing and every thing went missing when locks changed.
Luckily we had passports and my wallet.

Room Tip: dont go if you do dont trust the man in the photo he is very rude and aggressive, The photo shows ou...

We are just back after spending 10 glorious days in Puerto Del Carmen. Upon arrival we were greeted and checked in efficiently. We got a lovely room overlooking the pool and the sea. The rooms are basic but clean and have a lovely balcony. There are two individual beds but its not a problem to put them together. The apartments are cleaned and towels changed every second day. The pool area is lovely and always kept clean. There were plenty of sunbeds available around the pool. The snack bar at the pool served lovely food throughout the day and prices were reasonable. We only drank in the bar one night but there was always a good crowd in. The apartments are in an excellent location being right at the edge of old town which in my opinion is the place to stay. Its approx 10 min walk to new town and the main beach. Overall had a brilliant stay and we are looking into booking again for October. Will def return to the Costa Volcan.
