“Value for Money”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of April on all inclusive. The rooms are very clean (windows do rattle a bit in the wind) fantastic views!!
We had a kettle fridge and rings in room also. The hotel itself is a short stroll to the beach in a fabulous location! Some lovely looking restaurants along the front. Turn left at the bottom of the hill and walk for about 5 minutes to hit the main bars and nightlife!!
Food at the hotel was adequate, we didn't go hungry at all! Breakfast is the best I've had all inclusive wise, and although food could be hotter it was more than edible.
I don't think I could go all inclusive here in peak season as the dining room was small.
Would defo go back and stay here again!!

Room Tip: Most have a sea view!! Close the corridor windows at night!!

Just arrived home from Puerto del Carmen and stayed at the Hibiscus apartments. We thoroughly enjoyed it, were moved from room 331 (pool view) due to the water being cut and got a room with a seaview which was lovely (501) Saw dolphins and cruise ships, water sports etc which we thought amazing! We went all inclusive, food was as you'd expect, not five star but we never went hungry! The staff are all pleasant and willing to help, the reception people are very helpful too. Just to note, the weather forecasts are not reliable. We were expecting 23-25 degrees last week but it was really hot, had been 35 when we got there and the temperature was around 30 all week so watch out if you are taking children. It did get quite chilly at night though!
One thing about the Hibiscus, it's kept very clean inside and out and the apartments have everything you need, there are also 2 Spar shops opposite so not far to go for bottled water etc. The only things I would change is to get air con as the rooms get really warm and the bar area is not really big enough, I imagine that in the season you would not be able to get in!!
This is an ideal place for a reasonably priced holiday in a good location for families or couples

Just back from 5 days all inclusive here with two girlfriends. The rooms are clean and spacious, with a kitchenette even though we were all inclusive, so useful with the fridge. There's no air con which I imagine can be a bit stifling in August time. The balcony is large and if you are in block c, you get the sun all day. Our room had two single beds and a sofa bed. Our bathroom had a dreadful smell of drains but after a couple of days we realised why when there was a massive water leak through the bathroom ceiling! Reception were quick to move us to the apartment next door which was fine, with no smell.
We had no problems at all getting sun beds by the pool, even at 1pm!
The bar was fine, no queues and drinks were good measures. It's a bit soulless in the evenings but didn't bother us as we went straight out.
The food was a bit repetitive, yes, but it was edible! The breakfasts were pretty - good choice of cooked or continental food. Self service drinks at the restaurant is a great idea.
We kept our room on the last day as we had a late flight home, which cost Eur23 for the room and all incl until we checked out, which is great value.
All in all this is a great no frills, good value hotel, which is very central to the main bars and restaurants. The old town is about Eur4 in a taxi or probably about 30min walk.

Most of the negative comments were correct.food not piping hot.room a little shabby.dining area very 1980s.no atmosphere around bar on evening.good points.location and price . clean. One word of warning the sun parasols on the sun beds are set very low.we all banged our head's a few times.you get what you pay for and despite the faults I enjoyed my holiday and if the price is right im in !!!!

a small friendly complex, very spacious apartments and lovely grounds. restaurant was definitely "no frills" but the food was absolutely fine and like the bar, there was no ques which is always helpful . packed lunch / breakfast available on request. great location up a short hill from all the action, with some lovely little local bars next door. There was a problem finding a sun bed when the hotel was full over the easter weekend, but not apart from that, also front facing balconies get the sun all day long.
we had a lovely stay - very good value for money and would definitely go back

Room Tip: front facing room good for sun. microwave available next to the bread if you like your food piping h...

Just returned from a week all-inclusive. Rooms are very large and clean so well done to the room attendants. But that is as far as it goes. I had booked a sea view apartment which overlooked the pool! On the first morning we were there I noticed the maintenance man cleaning the pool and the pool area and it was all peaceful this was about 8 a.m. I had noticed a few people with there towels waiting by the poolside gates which were closed, I went to get a shower and when I looked back out there was now probably 25 people waiting at each gate so they had been queuing for nearly 1 hour to get to the pool. At 9.00a.m the maintenance guy opened the gates and it was like watching something out of The Benny Hill show. They all came RUNNING to get a sun bed and put there towels on them and so at 9.05 a.m. there was not one sunbed left for anyone. I could not believe my eyes . Then everyone went to the breakfast canteen (I am calling it a canteen because that what it is ! ) So the bottom line is do NOT think about going for your breakfast at 9.05 A.M. because you will have to join the queue and wait to be seated after the sunbed lot..... If you do go to the bar expect to be given paper cups unless you specifically ask for a glass and then you will be looked at as an inconvenience. I could go on and on about this place so do yourself a favour and spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Room Tip: Don't go there !!!!
