My wife and I enjoyed a lovely two weeks in these quiet apartments. In reception Frank & Gabby were very laid back & helpful. There is a slight hill down to town but we found it OK and we are 76.There is a lovely restaurant at the bottom of the hill called La Canada and we can recommend the Lanzarote wine. There is a camera shop called Sea View electronics on the front--absolute con men avoid it like the plague. Bill & Mary [Blyth]

My partner Anne and I arrived on 24th Dec 2009 and stayed until 7th Jan 2010. I read the review from 2008 regarding a security issue and thought to myself, who doesn't check their cash BEFORE they leave? Needles to say security is NOT an issue at these apartments. The safe has only one key and you have it. The gate is locked in the evening and you have a key to get in and out. A quiet location yet close to the nightlife and the supermarket is yards away on the corner. We don't walk well and the slight incline on the hill was OK for us. Like most pools it is cold but OK once your in it. Cleaned every day by the nicest person you could meet; Maria. Clean towels daily. Run by Gabriela who looks after you well. The whole place is spotless. No fan and you rent the safe, but that's your choice. The Maintenance man Frank is very helpfull and friendly. He also sleeps in the complex and doubles as security at night. This complex is recommended for all. We would go back without hesitation.

My mum and her sister just returned from this complex and said it was lovely etc. However a word of caution. They hired a safe for the duration of their stay as they were there for 4 weeks. They discovered that a large sum of money went missing from their safe but unfortunatly they didnt notice this until in the airport. The safe was situated in the sitting room area and was key operated. Have informed the travel agent but travellers beware of your personal possessions as this complex has a major security issue.

Great apartments, right in the centre of town, but enough off the main street for nice quite nights and privacy. It's a small complex so is nice and quite inside too.
The apartments are lovely, the downstairs ones have easy access to the pool, with the upstairs ones you have to walk around from the back of the building - although that suited us fine, as it gives extra privacy but if you have kids the downstairs would be much better. We went in March and the average age of the people there was probably 60s and 70s but again that suited us fine because we hired a car and spent our days traveling around the island and sun bathing in Papagayo Beach about a half hour drive away. The owner is so nice and very helpful with directions and advice on places to go.
We couldnt have enjoyed our holiday more, Peurto Del Carmen is a nice place but I recommend hiring a car, reception will ring the car hire place for you and they will come and pick you up to collect your car. I cant say enough about La Tegala, I would definitely go back.

Welcomed at the apts by Gaby (manager), she was very helpful and friendly. Lovely little apt block, spotlessly cleaned by Maria. If you like Puerto del Carmen, these apts are very conveniently located within easy walking distance just up a slight hill from the main strip. Good supermarkets nearby. Lovely clean pool. and the whole block kept spotlessly clean. Access to apts not really suitable for people with walking difficulties as the pavements are awful, If the apt owners put in ramps on part of their steps it could be made wheelchair accessable as their are only 2 sets of 2 steps up to the apts but difficult with wheelchair. Other than that i could not fault the apts in any way. This is the place for a nice peaceful holiday as there were no children, and they have a lot of repeat business.
