This was a very last minute booking for a cheap week in the sun. Therefore, it wasn't 'chosen' and we wouldn't normally go to a 2* apartment or hotel but as it was a quick break, we ignored the 2* rating. I have marked the apartment against what we paid (£170 each for the whole holiday including flights etc for 7 nights). You can't argue with that. Yes, it's not perfect but is more than adequate. If one wants perfect then one doesn't choose 2* surely. I can only surmise that due to the rating no one would have paid too much to stay here and this needs to be taken into consideration. Granted, there are certain expectations such as basic cleanliness but we found it to be clean and tidy upon arrival. A bonus is it is very peaceful which suited us. We asked to change rooms on day 3 as we wanted an upstairs room for privacy and this was done easily for us. We've been in 4/5* hotels where requests like this have been a battle. I wouldn't say we'd go here again but at the same time if we were in the same position of wanting a cheap getaway and this was all that was offered, we wouldn't mind. Simple as that really, you get what you pay for. If you want luxury, pay more and upgrade.

The apartment was in a great location if you don't mind a walk to the town, however the overall impression was that the apartment needed a bit of tlc. There was an electric socket hanging off of the wall in the bedroom. The beds were extremely uncomfortable , made worse by the waterproof mattress cover that rucked up in the bed.The handle of the fridge was falling off, hot water tap in the kitchen didn't work properly. The cushions on the sofa and chairs were well worn. The room was only cleaned once while we were there and that only took 10 mins max to do.

I stayed in the Europa Apartments with my partner in September 2010. We booked through Thomas Cook and were looking for a last minute budget holiday which is exactly what we got.
When we arrived it was early evening and there was no one there to meet us, one of the hotel guests informed us that our key would be in the cupboard at the bottom of some stairs near reception. If he hadnt of told us this i'm not sure how long we would have been waiting. The apartments were clean and tidy and perfect for what we needed and the pool area was small but very quiet as the other guests were all quite elderly and just sunbathed on their balconies.
One major thing people should consider before booking here is that the apartments are situated about three quaters of the way up a very large hill!! It was about a 10minute walk to the habour and restaurants in the local area and a further 20 minute walk to the main beach and busier part of Puerto del Carmen.
You definitely get what you pay for with these apartments, which is not a bad thing as we had a lovely holiday although the hill did get a bit much by day 5. I wouldnt rule out returning here again however would not go back with my children as not really suited for families.

Comfortable, pleasant accommodation with a cheerful and helpful receptionist, friendly, unobtrusive maids and responsive, efficient service fro any problems, eg light bulbs etc. Like a private apartment of your own with no interruptions from zealous, 'redcoats', yet lively entertainment close by, if that's what you want. Attached to. 'La Bamba', a excellent local bar & restaurant having a comprehensive menu, from bar snacks to full banquets, always visited by local taxi drivers and the local police, which is always a sign of good quality and prices are very reasonable for both food and drink. Across the road at 'Lago Verde', a pool bar is located - Redknapp's - run by a lively Irish gut, Bernie, who must have kissed the Blarney Stone a million times, where a mixture of tourists and locals meet for the crack. I would thoroughly recommend these apartments.

Room Tip: Upstairs or downstairs. It's your choice.

Rooms very spacous and well equipped. Cleaned daily except sunday.

Pool is small but cleaned regular and very cold!

Staff very helpful and very friendly. They even organized our return transfer for us.

Nice Restaurant right next door although unlucky for apartment 13 as noisy at night, (tenderising steaks)

Good location, although on a hill. We found cheap supermarket down the street (Spar ) and HyperDino (main supermarket) 5 min walk away in town.

Also great family run bar/amusements on main walk down into town.

Buses run regular from nearby bus stop.
