We arrived at lanzarote on the 15 of May 2014, for a week on a self catering holiday. The apartments have a very spacious living area with kitchen diner area with a breakfast bar. The complex has two swimming pools a children's pool adjoining a larger one, an ideal family complex, we tried the pool bar a few times for food and found it good value for money, and very tasty. The only negative we had was the beds were very hard for sleeping on.

Booked this holiday on line with thomsons at a very good price,it was very clean and tidy, they would have the gardeners out every morning to clean all the grounds,we were very impressed with the two pools, one in the main part of the resort and another across from it both with kids pools, went self catering so didn't have any main meals but the bar meals were ok and cheap, supermarket got all the basics you need,we also ask for a villa with a balcony and a view
Of the sea and we got it :-)

Room Tip: All villas and bungalows are excellent and it is a very quiet location, fifteen minutes from centre.

We stayed at the Hyde Park Lane Bungalows in April 2014, just a week in the wintersun. Perfect time for a quiet getaway as April/May is a quiet time in the Canaries. Many Scandanavians holiday then, but very few Brits/Germans. Weather was really windy, but sunny, average temp of about 22C.
Really pretty bungalows, surrounded by Bouganvilia flowers, a nice terrace outside, but wouldn't be very private or quiet in the busy season. Bungalows were much closer together than pictured in Thomsons online brochure.
We only found one pool out of the 2 advertised, and it was freezing. By far the coldest we have experienced in our 4 or 5 holidays in Lanzarote. However it was really quiet around the pool so no problem getting a lounger, no horrible blaring music or stupid games, just peace. The bungalow was basic but clean and well maintained, with all the crockery/cutlery you need. The beds were rock hard, the hardest we have slept on ever. But the ceiling fan was welcome.
We didn't eat at their restaurant or use the bar as we preferred to walk into Puerto del Carmen. It took about 10 mins to the very outskirts where there is a HyperDino supermarket and couple of restaurants, and took about 30 mins to get into the centre of PDC. Cheaper to eat this end, nearer the harbour and noisy bar/club area the prices were noticeably higher.
We recommend Woodleys for good food, tapas and reasonably priced drinks, although the northern girl waitress was a bit mardy. And Pepe Nero, on the beach side of the Promenade, a really lovely family run little italian restaurant. There's a Spar supermarket about 15 mins walk towards PDC from Hyde Park Lane Bungalows too, get your cheap booze from the Liquor shop and your perfumes from Dalia. It took about 1hour to walk all the way to the harbour, but it's such a lovely interesting walk past all the gift shops, bars and the new posh designer shops, that you don't notice how far you've walked, and you can always stop for beer and icecream along the way. Walking the other direction towards the airport/Matagorda is the huge beach, kiddies play area but not a lot else. One small shopping centre, but still a nice walk. It was too windy to venture onto the beach while we were there, it felt like you were being sandblasted! Ouch! Would definitely visit this resort again, but not Hyde Park Lane Bungalows.

Room Tip: Bungalow 82 is at the back, on a very very quiet road, we had no noise whatsoever and is really clos...

My wife and myself visited this accommodation again this year (April 2014). We asked for same bungalow and we were happy to get this. Not too busy altho more kids this year due to English schools Easter break. No problem, we love watching kids enjoying themselves. The entertainment here in the evening is poor but we were out each evening so no problems. We will go back again because it suits us down to the ground. Place to relax, read and enjoy the sunshine.

Room Tip: Don't go for a room overlooking the pool unless you like the idea of everyone watching you havin...

We stayed here for a brief getaway over Easter. We usually mix some activities that we organise on our own with leisure time normally spent reading on the beach or at the hotel. Due to strong winds, leisure time this time mostly meant time at the hotel. We liked some things about this place, but overall wouldn't recommend staying here.

Location:
+ it's decently located, close to an island highway and the airport by car to get wherever you want to get without having to navigate too many one way roads. The beach is reasonably close, as are restaurants and bars. For us, this was just right.

Hotel facilities and layout
+ Nice overall layout, cute little bungalows spread evenly around two areas, both of which have a central pool with more than enough sunbeds. The main area is also where the restaurant and pool bar are located. Everything is clean.
- Everything, particularly the pool bar, feels aged, and we really mean that. Particularly the pool bar has the looks and feel of a parking garage. Also, security might be a problem. It's all too easy to access the hotel premises from anywhere on the streets without being seen.

Rooms:
+ Reasonably sized and laid out. Cleaned well.
- They're REALLY old. There are twin beds only, no doubles. Also, the rooms are supposed to be non-smokers but smell like an ashtray since it wasn't refurbished when being converted from a smoking to a non-smoking room. This is really our main reason for not returning until that hotel is refurbished.

Staff
+ Staff is the big plus. Everybody was nice and friendly and did a great job. Receptionists and bar staff are perfectly fluent in several languages, cleaners really clean the place, despite its age.

Food
+ There was enough. Also, we liked the small local food bar in the restaurant area that was open every night.
- Apart from that, food was disappointing. There were barely any fresh fruits, breakfast was hardly edible on some days, though admittedly the cooks are trying hard to vary the buffets.

All in all, we stayed in much better places on the Canaries that didn't cost more, over Easter included. We would not return unless the place gets thoroughly refurbished. Afterwards, it will sure be a nice hotel, particularly given that it's well located to explore the island. Without changes to the buffet, though, you should prefer to eat out or cook for yourself even if you don't mind the smell of cigarette smoke.

We stayed for 1 week in March. The first night we were freezing in the night although we each had 2 woolen blankets and a sheet, a light duvet would have been better. The rest of the time the weather got a bit warmer and we were OK. The bungalow was nice, very quiet and clean. Beds were very comfy, but there was a little bit of a smell that seemed to come from the plumbing in the bathroom. Kitchen and sitting room were very nice. WiFi didn't work at all, however, when we went to our hotel bar we could use WiFi.
There was plenty of parking.
We tried breakfast only once, it was basic.
Most evenings we walked to Puerto del Carmen for Dinner and had a few drinks in our hotel bar after. Entertainment was nice with a bit of live music and dancing. Most guests were Dutch.
All in all we enjoyed our time at Hyde Park Lane very much and would come back, as we found them to be value for money.
