On arrival at the bungalows at 11.30am after an early flight we were quickly checked in by a friendly receptionist and taken to our bungalow in block 7 by mini bus. The accomodation was clean, spacious and in a wonderful location facing a heated pool. We had booked direct with the bungalows requesting a pool view and that was exactly what we got. The complex is very quiet and well laid out so you have plenty of room to chill out on your private terrace. The area is great for walkers, joggers and cyclists as the whole prom is traffic free. You can walk from Matagorda right into Arrecife,we did but got the bus back. I would recommend the bungalows to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing break.

These bungalows are spacious and it was very clean when we arrived. The rooms are cleaned every 2 or 3 days. The only gripe is that the bins weren't emptied daily and you have to put toilet paper in a bin. There are pans etc for self-catering but utensils are a bit limited. The bungalows are extremely quiet. We were in block 8 (which seems to be where Thomson guests are). There are about 38 bungalows. The pool is clean and the pool area pleasant with a small bar which offers basic snacks. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is about 5-10 mins walk to the restaurant and reception. We only ate in the restaurant once and the food was delicious. I'd highly recommend these apartments as they are great for 2 star accommodation.

About 5 mins away is the shopping centre with a good selection of restaurants (the Chinese is excellent) and a couple of 'supermarkets'. These are very small with limited selection and not always much fruit and meat, but acceptable. The beach is lovely and there are pedestrian/cycle paths along the coast. The airport is nearby but the planes are not too loud or intrusive and don't fly at night.

We visited Matagord for the first time at the end of February, having no idea what to expect as we had never been to Lanzarote before. The reviews for these bungalows seemed good and we like the look of the area on Google maps so went with our instincts. We had the most relaxing holiday ever and it certainly gave us a boost in this awful winter weather. The apartment block we had was a few minutes stroll from the beach/taxis/bus service/bars and restaurants and mani reception. Although our apartment was actually facing the road it was still an ideal location. The apartment was a bit 'dated' and the colour scheme of dark green floor tiles was initially off putting but we soon changed our mind. There was a decent size living area leading to a very well equiped kitchen and a small rear enclosed patio area for drying towels etc. The bedroom was a good size with plenty of wardrobe space but I have to admit to finding the bed very hard. The bathroom was ok Powerful shower and a hairdryer that didnt work particularly well but brilliant lighting for us girls to apply our make up which is a rarity abroad. Flat screen tv was not used very often but helpful to keep a check on the world news.We had a small patio to the front with table cahirs and loungers. Directly to the side of our bungalow was apathway leading to the pool which was peaceful and immaculate. We NEVER had to fight for a sunbed. Cleaner came in every day changing towels etc and we could not fault her standards.
The resort itself has a high population of 'older' people which was actually quite nice. There was no graffitti, rowdy groups or late night music. Small shopping centre was a few yards away with excellent restaurants and bars, and a very reasonably priced supermarket. We found out at the end of our holiday that we could have booked a superior apartment which would have been even better so have decided that we have to visit again next year. Hopefully for longer the next time. You must make the most of the pedestrian/cycle only promenade as it is a beautiful and relaxing walk to the busier parts of the area. Loved it

Room Tip: Ignore any comments that some of the blcoks are miles away. This is a big but very well spaced out co...

We have just returned after staying in this complex for 1 week.
On arrival we were taken to reception and then the sites mini bus came to take us to our bungalow. We booked through Thomsons and it seems that they use blocks 7 and 8 which are detached from the main complex. Our bungalow was next to the road, but the road was very quite so traffic noise was not an issue There was a table and chairs as well as 2 sunbeds in the small garden at the front of the bungalow. Walking to the row behind ours led us to the swimming pool, where there were sunbeds and umberellas. The pool looked clean and it was well set out.
It seemed the bungalows around the pool area were classed as superior but from recollection we didn't have the choice when we booked.
The bungalow itself was old and in need of renovation. When we arrived there was a musty damp smell but this disappeared after a day or so after the windows had been left open! The mattresses on the beds looked clean and new and were reasonably comfortable but we had to ask for extra pillows. There was more than enough storage space with 2 large wardrobes etc.
We had no problems with the bathroom, the shower was probably one of the best we have encountered for this type of property. Plenty of hot running water which stayed hot and not a single leak on the bathroom floor. The towels were changed once (as was the bedding) but the loo rolls were replenished as needed so I assume the cleaner came in daily although we didn't always see her.
Although this needed a complete uplift and clean I think effort has been made as the kettle, kitchen cutlery / crockery microwave flat screen tv were all spotlessy clean and new looking. There was also a back door which led to a small totally enclosed yard with a washing line.
The bungalow although not on the main complex was within easy reach off everything.
Taxi's bus stops were within 2-3 minutes walk. The beach was 5 minutes away as was the shopping centre which was full of restaurants, so plenty of choice. We weren't impressed with the steak restaurant on the front but apart from that the food was of a high standard and there was plenty of choice. Previous people have mentioned the aircraft noise but I can honestly say it made no impact on our holiday whatsoever. As there is no traffic (apart from pedal bikes) along the miles long promenade walk we didn't really notice it.
All in all we had a good week and would definately return.

First time in Lanzarote went with my daughter and thoroughly enjoyed having a bit of winter sunshine. The Bungalow was first class, spacious and clean. Loved the patio area lots of room. The complex had low rise buildings and there were lots of trees and plants making it very green. The pool was heated making it very user friendly! The staff were very friendly and on the end of the phone for any queries...our kettle didn't work when we arrived.....but after one phone call a new one was delivered in minutes ! Everything was easy to get to...taxis very close and cheap to get to the livelier areas which we did early evening...the Town of Puerto Del Carmen not far away had good shops, restuarants and a pretty harbour. Hope we can go back next year !

Room Tip: Our room was elevated giving us a good view and lots of sunshine.

We had two adjacent bungalows - 1 for grandparents and one for a young family. Both were kitted out to suit our needs with french windows to capture the sun and a walled area beyond the kitchen area for washing etc. Together these produced a through breeze when required. We were 200m from the sea and 100m from a small set of shops, ATM and restaurants. The flat walkway from Aricife to Puerta del Carmen meant there was no traffic, only walkers & cyclists; this provided access to a greater variety of tourist resources not far away. The planes at the nearby airport were never disruptive. The service was excellent and the different sets of bungalows (nearly all with a swimming pool area) meant we were not too crowded. Breakfast was OK but we never ate evening meals there. It was a pity that there was no playground area for small children but the wonderful beach compensated.

Room Tip: A few bugalows faced a road - these are worth avoiding as most faced private walkways.

Just back from Las Gaviotas, stayed in block 5. Bungalow was lovely, sitting room, kitchen bedroom and bathroom lovely with terrace over looking pool, really picture perfect until the airport opened flights coming and going all day long, the noise from the departing aircraft was dreadful, early in the morning till evening. SONIC BOOM so loud. there was a bit of a smell of mould in bedroom, but being only February and probably not used since september last year an open window during the day solved this, however the smell of sewerage in bathroom we could not get rid off, even tho we opened window and side door, still could smell sewerage would not like to be in this block when temps reach 35/40 degs. On the other hand the commerical centre was great, food, drinks, supermarket, a visit to La Brista is a must great food lovely staff, also must recommend the SPORTSMAN BAR even if u don't like footy its a must for lively chat, staff an service..

Room Tip: suppose you best paying a few dollars more and going for block one or two but to be honest they stil...
