“Beware of extra costs!!”
Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

Realxing holiday but disappointed with the extra costs of the fridge , towel and the all inclusive package , a lot of potatoes and pasta salads , staff friendly , room clean . All inclusive can only get a drink in one bar so be ready for long queues ! All other bars EXTRA charges for a drink .

i stayed here with my husband and 3 children 5, 11, and 14, the hotel was huge more like a village lol, but after a few days we soon found our way around, our room was situalted right above the evening entertainment area, which was noisey but did finish at 11.30/12 each night, we found the entertainment poor, just 5 songs for the kids disco (didnt start till 9pm, when my 5 yr old was tired) and the same singers and the same songs over and over again and they wernt very good, tho the magican, balancing act and parrot shows were all good, but i did witness the worst abba act ever!
our room was a bigger family room with 3 singel beds and a double it was huge!n beds were made everyday, but the maids didnt seem to wash the floors as i got dirty feet everyday walking up and down the room,
the pools were all great a little cold but refreshing in the 38/39 weather we had, i did see the pool attendants cleaning the pools every morning and on a few nights a man dipping the water to check the balance and was safe ect,
the food was good all different kind of things and plenty of choice for everyone and 3 kids! the pool bar did a mini resturant buffet everyday which was good not havin to get dressed for lunch, we tried the burger bar which was included, it was nice tho if u order a chicken burger, order crispy chicken as the normal one just looked like a slice of chicken roll fried,
we also eat at the italian resturant one night which was fab, so do book that was a hit for all 5 of us,
sun loungers wernt a problem for us, even returning after a day out at 3pm we still managed to find a few spare and put them together,
i would tho recomend that the pool area is hossed down as there were sticky drinks spilt on the floor there the whole time we were there!
the only down fall was the que for the bar in the evenings, maybe more staff??
also i saw people complaining about ques for dinner, if u get the earlier sitting this isnt a problem, the spanish seem to like the later sitting, hense the ques,
overall we had a fab holiday, fab weather, :)

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the evening entertainment! book italian resturant its fab!

Just back from a 2 week break in hotel Beatriz. 27/07/13 to 08/08/13.
This is a good hotel with good staff. There are better hotels out there but not in this price range.
We were 1/2 board and it appeared that a large proportion of guests were all inclusive.

Food was good with changes to the main course (evenings) each day.For a 2 week holiday it was a little repetitave but this happens with nearly all hotels.
We paid slightly extra and went to the Chinees restaurant in the Beatriz one night and enjoyed the experience. It also helped to "break up" the routine.
Another day - by going through reception - we changed from evening meal to lunch and this allowed us to have dinner out.

We found the staff throught the hotel very helpful and friendly. On 3 different occasions the reception staff charged up my music and kindle through their computer, no problem, no fuss just smiles.

The rush for beds, no different to most hotels especially at high season. We had no problem for 14 days getting beds.
The entertainment was not bad. We enjoyed the Beatles Tribute.
Didn't try the spa - weather too good outside.
The Spar shop about 150 yards to the right at the rear of the hotel is well stocked and very good prices.
We hired the fridge and safe from booking in and it is well worth it. Keeping water and coke cool very important.

We enjoyed our stay in the Beatriz and would certainly enjoy a return visit.

Room Tip: The evening entertainment can be noisy. It does stop promptly at 11.30. But if you needed quiet i wo...

Just returned from a Thomas Cook holiday to this hotel & having read the previous reviews, we were aware of various potential issues. We did use the early sitting for evening dinner and there were no queues. I guess most people just eat late as there were queues later, but we were long gone by then. We were all inclusive and all of my group thought the food was excellent. We had no problems with any birds or ants or other creatures, indeed when playing pool outside at night we assumed that the bright pool table lights would attract various insects, but we never saw any! We did pay extra for WIFI in the room, and this was worth the money as one of us was always online doing something. We also used the free WIFI in the WIFI room too which was slower but good enough for our needs. There is a shady covered outdoor area up some stairs near the SPA, I think it is used as a restaurant/meeting area sometimes, but this area made the holiday for me as I don't like sitting in the sun all day, and to be able to sit in the shade and also get to the pool was great. I felt I may have been in the way a few times, but at no point was I made to feel unwelcome by the staff, who carefully maneuvered around me when setting the tables for the occasional dining group. I had requested a room that would enable me to watch aircraft on final approach to runway 03 & I got one of these rooms. As an aviation photographer the proximity of the airport was great and from the other guests that I spoke to, it is clear that this hotel is chosen by many for this reason. The runway 03 threshold is a 10 minute walk away and photography is also possible from the room balcony or pool area. The aircraft noise was not a problem. Ellen the Thomas Cook rep was great and we booked two excursions, the Volcano tour & the Submarine Safari which were both excellent. All of our encounters with reception, restaurant & bar staff were very good. They were all obviously very busy and did a good job. Only suggestion I can think of is that an outside bar near the pool would have been nice in the evening.

Room Tip: For those interested in the planes, rooms 3028 to 3040 are the best apparently with views of aircraf...

Great time ,only down fall Hotel pools were so cold ,resorted to Beach ,which has no sun beds to hire ,& that included puddle beach martagorda,,puerto del carman ,strange to see so much beach with no umbrellas,/ sun beds ,and we,ve been to Lanzerote 6 times varied locations The hotel food was excellent ,just hated the wee birds dive bombing the food ,do hope the proprietors get nets or proper food cases to keep the birds at bay ,loved the Chinese restaurant food & place excellent ,Italian restaurant nice change of the Buffet ,Burger place good,Entertainment for kids at night should be earlier some good acts ,, ,the Euro has definitely killed the tourist trade. With people resorting to all inclusive ,bars & clubs not busy ,But try out Murphy,s Bar ,next door to the flying Dutch man ( upstairs) excellent ,live music ,bar staff excellent in puerto del carman opposite the beach ,would definitely return nice & relaxing hotel ,

Back in March we visited Beatriz Playa & Spa.
I have to say I was pretty suprised as how good it was.
The food for typically spanish which was great and the accomodation was spot on.
Directly opposite from the beach and childrens play area and a great spa.
The cost I thought it was a bit expensive but all in all not disappointed.

Thanks

Room Tip: Try and get a sea view room!!

The negatives: To begin, we did not recieve the 'beach view' we were promised. Secondly, do not use the computers in the Wi-Fi area as the Internet speed is atrocious, as was the free Wi-Fi. The cocktails were pre-made, though still quite tasty (but impossible to get drunk off if that's what you're going for). The service at the bar was not what we're used to at home and in the evening this caused serious queues (never queued for a bar in my life!). Also, the entertainment was generally a bit odd and in our opinion more geared towards the Spainish guests. At times we felt that we were bothering the reception staff when dealing with them, though at other times they we excellent - think it depended on who was working. The all-inclusive wristbands were a real nuisance too and were fairly uncomfortable. Finally, and worst of all, the thing that was most irritating (a Europe-wide problem to be fair) - people getting up early to reserve sunbeds and then not returning for most of the day - we were very tempted to launch a few towels into the pools on more than one occasion. Hotel management would need to get a hold of the situation (which wouldn't be difficult) as some days we found it nearly impossible to get a sunbed, in spite of numerous laps around the pool area.

The positives: The food was excellent, varied and unlimited and the restaurant staff (especially the blonde girl) and chefs were polite and also good craic - we would definitely recommend the all incclusive option as we never got bored of the buffet. The water polo at the pool was pretty intense and taken very seriously so was enjoyable to play if you've got a competitive streak. We never saw the birds as a major problem, rather, it was the constant breeze/wind lowing over the island which contributed to much of the mess of spilt drinks around the pool, but that can't be avoided. The hotel's interior was unique and fun to explore. The room cleaning was excellent though we didn't experience any of the famous towel folding skills of the staff. The dual sinks in the ensuite were a definite bonus and prevented any inter-couple rivalry. The planes didn't cause any nuisance whatsoever and were great to watch, we never got bored of seeing them fly in. Hotel is in a great location altogether - basically on the beach, close to the airport, always the first or very last for excursion pickups so there was no extra time spent sitting on buses, close to Matagorda and Dave and Marie's Auld Triangle pub which showed live GAA and also close enough, yet far enough away from noisy and tacky Peurto del Carmen (a great walk along the promenade to and from).

Could definitely see ourselves coming back one day, but would love to see the management really push the hotel into the excellent category with a bit of a refurbishment!

Also, we didn't realise that the smaller pool was heated until the final night. Raging!
