Travelled to this hotel 6th to 13th February. Room was fine though every morning we could smell stale cigarette smoke in it, My daughter and I are both non smokers. Choice of food seemed to improve as the week went on, When the restaurant was busy we didnt like being told that we would have to sit outside ( with smokers ) despite the fact that there was an area of tables closed off. There are birds flying in and out landing on the food at most dinner sittings.!! Didnt mind paying 21 euro for a safe but thought it was mean to charge 15 euro for the use of the fridge. Have never had to pay a charge for this before. On our final morning we filled in a questionnaire about the hotel. Later we checked out. Receptionist was very abrupt , Handed me my deposit for 2 towels and said no more. ( not even "Goodbye now" or "Hope ypu had a nice stay " )Later in the afternoon when we went back to reception to collect our luggage the same receptionist accosted us in a very rude abrupt manner with the questionnaire almost demanding to know why we had only ticked "ok " for reception. The reason was because we had to go to reception with a lot of queries and also they hadnt issued a voucher to us for the spa when the safe was purchased. Just by luck I asked if I should bring down the receipt to the spa. The spa by the way was lovely. Packages were quite expensive so we just did the thermal suite, This cost 24 euro for 2 each day even though we were resident in the hotel. ( Costa Calero Hotel has a bigger thermal suite which is much cheaper for residents.

Room Tip: Garden and pool views are fine

Me and my Boyfriend travelled to Lanzarote on the 14th of July for a 10 nights (2012). We travelled here for my birthday with thomas cook and it was worth every penny. We arrived to our room it was the most perfect room, on the top floor overlooking the beach and pool area.
Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. As was lunch and tea. We went to the italian on site and the Chinese, both were lovely - although were very busy so could have seemed to ruin the atmosphere. Make sure you book for these restaurants in advance.
The drinks were OK, Cocktails all tasted the same but pop was OK.
I had a lovely surprise on my birthday off the hotel which was nice.
One bad point of this hotel was the Russians and Germans, they obviously havent been taught manners back in their countries so beware of this, we ignored them.
With thomas cook we went on a boat trip which was lovely although maybe over priced? Would recommend it though.
The camera lady who went round the pool getting pictures of people was a credit to this hotel, she was always smiling and so friendly.
Note to manager: Restaurant workers could do with smiling, could be made to feel uncomfortable.
I will 100% be returning to this hotel it is great value for money.
Notes: You have to put a deposit down for a safe and for towels for the pool. the spa was amazing i recommend you go although you get a voucher for the first time, we went several times as it was beautiful and incredible to chill out. we hired the beds near pool side, beware of the heat at that time of year on them, it is in direct sun light!
Thankyou for you're hospitality.

Room Tip: Dont listen to bad reviews it is great value for money and not far to Carmen. Walk along promenade to village and great services there for example bike hiring

We have just enjoyed another fabulous holiday at the Beatriz. We requested the same room as we’ve stayed in before and we were allocated it. Upon arrival there was a bottle of Cava, a bowl of fruit and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The rooms are large, bathrooms have a very powerful shower, plenty of hot water, toiletries topped up when used.

The staff without exception are brilliant, very professional and helpful. The cleaners do a marvellous job, cleaning the rooms daily and regularly changing the bedding and the lovely white towels. The bar staff, the waiters etc all work very hard and considering the amount of guests they must see within a year they remembered us and other repeat guests of which there are many.

Love the new Wifi, I used the free Wifi in the lounge and I also bought the Packed Network for 7 days at 15 euros for 7 days or 6 euros for 24 hours, I could access the internet anywhere in the hotel including our room, I was so happy with it that I also bought it for another 7 days.

We really enjoy the food, there is plenty of choice and always something that we would enjoy, I think they do a wonderful job providing so many people with all that good food. The tables at dinner have lovely snowy white clean table linen including napkins, also linen napkins on the tables at lunch time.

When we arrived at the hotel I was full of aches and pains with a particularly bad back, after a trip to the pool in the Spa I had my first pain free sleep since before Christmas, goes without saying we went more than once, it certainly is well worth a visit.

We love the location of the hotel, it’s so close to the beach, the promenade is flat with plenty of benches, we like the fact that Matagorda is quiet and also like the fact that the hotel is close to the airport as we enjoy watching the planes, there are no flights at night, so no aircraft noise.

The entertainment was good some nights and not so good other’s, really enjoyed the Beatles tribute band, they certainly had the place rocking.

We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and with so many guests on departure saying ‘See you next year ‘ it says it all really. For us it is a piece of Winter Sun in lovely surroundings with good food and drink, we watched the tele in our hotel room and saw the snow back in the UK and thought ‘If we have a cloudy day here we couldn’t care less as it could be worse we could be back there’ Thank you to all the hotel staff for making our holiday another great one. We have already booked for January 2014.

Stayed 3 nights all inclusive on recent visit.
Reception staff were excellent and well able to help and explain any difficulties.
Plenty of sun beds - and plenty of sun during our stay.
Food was very repetitive, but a good choice all the same. However, I was not in favour of the chilled red wine, and had to put it in the microwave to get it to room temperature.!
Give the lunch in the downstairs buffet a big miss, because there is no roof and the small birds fly in and eat from the buffet table before you get to it, despite the limited efforts by the waiting staff to shoo them away. Not very hygienic.
Night entertainment is fair, and the free drinks don't taste too bad; you get what you pay for.
Bedroom was narrow but still comfortable; but we missed out on the sparkling wine and kettle and coffee - commented on in other reports.
Would go back again, but there is too much food in all inclusive, and would downgrade to B&B of half board.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your comments in TRIPADVISOR. About the birds, it is indeed a problem for us as well but thanks it just happens in this period of the year as there are nesting, believe me we are perfectly aware and do take the measures we are allowed to, as nets at the entrance of the restaurants, ultrasonic devices meant to avoid them, we do even feed them before the opening of the restaurants but we cannot possibly do much more as there are strict laws about bird protection.

We hope to have you with us again soon and meanwhile we remain,

Sincerely yours,

Been to Lanzarote several times in various hotels and apartments in Puerto del Carmen.. Very impressed with this Hotel, travelled with family (6 of us in total) Rooms were lovely with beautiful pool/sea views. Full bathroom, large room with sitting area with flat screen tv. On arrival was given a bottle of Sparkling Wine and bowl of fruit which was a lovely touch. Also given kettle, tea & coffee etc which was much appreciated in the mornings. All aspects of the Hotel were clean and our rooms were cleaned everyday and clean sheets and towels provided. Clean Pool Towels also provided everyday after a 15 euro deposit on arrival, which is fully refundable. The Spa is definitely worth a visit or two. We found all staff very friendly and helpful (with the exception of a man and a woman in the pool buffet restaurant, they were quite rude) which was a shame. The young man (matre d) in the buffet restaurants was lovely and pleasant, also Erik was always pleasant too. The waiter in the pizzeria was also very polite and helpful and the bar staff, especially Rolando were all cheerful, polite and tried to make your holiday enjoyable and always found time to chat. Reception staff were also very informative and helpful especially when booking taxis into main resort. Food was good and anyone could find something to eat every meal, had live cooking stations every night plus an additional carvery section along with other several choices on the buffet section, one of our family members does not eat meat therefore could do with more pasta dishes and pizza etc in the buffet restaurants for vegetarians, also a little more spicy food choices eg Indian restaurant is needed. The oriental restaurant was our least favourite, despite two visits but having said that, it was ok but not a lot of choice for us and a bit bland and therefore in our opinion not worth paying the supplement of 5 euros. Also a huge thank you to Eva Iglesias in reservations for being so helpful prior to our arrival at the hotel. Overall, we had a lovely time at the Beatriz Playa and will definitely be returning soon. The majority of the staff at this hotel are a credit to them and should be very proud of the service they provide.
