My first time to lanzarote I was not disappointed. The sun shone and views breathtaking.
The hotel was perfectly situated, just outside the main strip in a quiet setting with views of beach and volcanoes. The strip was approx ten minute walk and the main bus stop 5 min walk.
We were greeted at 8pm by a very friendly and helpful receptionist, who thought we were going to be Kate and had already organised room service. Luckily we managed to sneak into buffet as finished serving at 9pm.
The food was varied and adequate, we went half board, in hindsight wished we bad gone full as drinks would have been included. Breakfast and dinner was plentiful, salads, hot and cold selection and had themed nights which was a nice surprise- we enjoyed Mexican and Italian.
The accommodation was clean and we'll looked after- maid service was early, so if you don't want to be disturbed put your no entry sign on.
It was my husbands 50th birthday and he had a lovely bottle of bubbly to greet him in the room.
We were both very pleased with the accommodation and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We chose a garden room, wasn't much of a garden to see. Only had sun in morning would gave liked...

It's hard to say why this hotel didn't wow but then it did what it said on the can. I don't know about other guests but our garden room overlooked a bare cacti garden and railings onto the road. On first look, the room was uninspiring but it was clean, had a small fridge and tea/coffee making facility which was a bonus.
The pool area had a lot of shady spots but sunlovers could use two decking areas if you were lucky enough to get a bed.
We only had breakfast there and nothing to complain about really. Wifi only strong in foyer.
This didn't float our boat and didn't seem like a four star property.
However, staff were pleasant enough and we had no real gripes.

Room Tip: garden rooms dark. Opt for higher levels.

Arrived Boxing Day 2013. Check in was quick and trouble free. We were pleased to hear we had that been given an upgrade, a room with a pool and sea view, nice start because I didn't request it.
We went to our room and we were very pleased, it was spotlessly clean and it was a good size, lots of wardrobe and drawer space, mini fridge, kettle, TV and safe. Checked the view out from the balcony and that was great too. So we quickly unpacked and headed to the pool area to grab a drink or two with our traveling companions. It was nice and sunny with a good atmosphere; we were soon into the holiday spirit. The alcoholic drinks were good measures has you would expect.
The food was fine for us, we found something nice to eat every time, the waiting staff quickly remove used plates etc, ready for the next course. On the subject of food I must mention the Gala dinner on New Years Eve because it was absolutely fantastic, six courses and all delicious.
On the down side I was very disappointed with the evening entertainment and long queues at the bar, the lounge bar soon gets full so we ended up sitting outside most nights under the covered area, it gets chilly at night, we found it a little uncomfortable to say the least. However, patio heaters were proved on New Years Eve.
We spent a lot of time relaxing In the sunshine by the pool which is very good, there are lots of sunbeds but as usual some folks must get up at the crack of dawn to claim their beds.
All in all it was a good holiday and would go back again

Room Tip: Obviously 2nd or 3rd floor pool and sea views. We had room 1329 (see photos)

Dear client.
Thank you very much for a long, positive and detailed review. Your comment about the evening bar will be carefully studied by the management for future changes. It pleases us that you otherwise liked it here, and especially that you found the New Year Gala dinner fantastic.

Just back from a week in this Hotel with my husband and son. Best holiday we have taken in at least 10 years! Couldn't fault anything at all. Exceptionally clean, great facilities, great food choice and excellent quality meals, short airport transfer (10 minutes on bus) and ideal for kids with kids club and mini disco. Safe, secure, and everything you would look for in a holiday. Not to mention absolutely fabulous value for money - the best yet!

We just returned fro a 7 night stay in this hotel. This was our first visit to Lanzarote and we
arrived on boxing day. Its only 15 mins transfer from the airport and after a quick check in
we were upgraded to a suite. The room (1303) faced the pool and had a sea view. The balcony
had the sun fro 10am until late afternoon. The room which had two parts was large. The bathroom had a bath with shower over it and a walk in shower again it was large. The room
as was the entire hotel was spotless. The pool area was large with lots of beds although some
of these are worn and need replaced. The salt water pool was freezing and could do with a bit
more heat. pool snack bar was fine and made burgers and chips etc and the quality of the drinks
beer etc was very good. my only gripe was it opens an hour after the dining room closes I think
it should open at ten as do most all inclusive do. The food in the most was very good with lots
of choice. The main bar was excellent for drinks again all branded and good quality. The
entertainment was pretty poor most nights as was the day time entertainment. Our family met
some lovely other families so we made our own entertainment. Most of the staff are a credit to
this hotel and thanks for that. Puerto del Carmen is a great resort and will be returning. Brilliant holiday.

My girlfriend and I stayed here in March last year for a week and we had a great time. The room was very big with great facilities. The bath and shower were very nice. It was very clean indeed and the location was great. The pool was excellent. I think the best thing about this hotel was the food. It was absolutely delicious with a great variety. Would definitely stay here again, in fact I think I will aim to come back here in the very near future. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
