First visit to Lanzarote and had a great holiday at Morromar.

Great welcome from reception - they knew we were arriving after 10 pm so they had arranged for a meal to be kept for us ( mixed salads, meats, cheeses, bread etc ). Nice room with great view of sea and clear view of runway too. Children really enjoyed watching planes landing and taking off. Airport noise never a problem to us.

Room was a little dated but spotless. Towels and linen regularly changed.

Enjoyed meals - varied and always lots to choose from. Lunch was definitely our favourite with fresh paella and lots of salads to choose from.

Drinks were great could pay extra for branded drinks I.e mangers which was very reasonably priced and always half price before 11 . My children loved the slush machines and self service drinks and snacks.

Didn't use kids club much but the kids enjoyed some of the organised activities around pool.

We used smaller pool which was quieter which is what we wanted . Very busy and no beds after around 9,30 but most gone when we went to breakfast at around 9, Not a problem to us as we are early risers. Many people put down towels however one morning saw manager move towels that had been left unattended for some time and she did try and stop gusts doing this.

Entertainment team worked very hard during our stay - everyone seemed to love them .

Close to beach and decent shopping centre near by.

Staff all polite and worked hard to keep hotel running smoothly from domestics to managers. Well done to you all you seem to take great pride in your complex and hope that you get to make the improvements that you want/need to keep your good ratings.

We had a great holiday - Thank You Morromar we will see you again in the summer.

Complex as a whole is nice. Our room particularly the bathroom was tired and needed updating. Hot water ran out after one shallow bath, we were boiling the kettle to top it up.
Food, breakfast is the best meal, good selection, but the fruit juices are cordials not juice, which is a bit odd. The other meals were a bit hit and miss but we didn't go hungry. Drinks from the bar were good, staff all very nice. Pools, freezing, the kids didn't mind but I stayed out. Our boy went to the kids mini disco a couple of times, I agree with the other reviews 8pm is to late a start time. 10 mins from the airport, don't pay for bus transfers, take a taxi, it's around 10 euros. Overall for a pretty cheap week of winter sun I'd recommend it. If you want 5* go somewhere else and pay for it.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for taking your time to publish your impressions about THe Morromar.
We are glad to read you enjoyed your stay.
Since the beginning of the year we are doing a complete maintanence in our apartments (painting, refurbishing batrooms, etc.)
About the boiler the capacity is 50 liter so once they are finished it must get filled again with hot water. In Lanzarote we do not usually take baths as water is a preciate gift!
We would be very grateful to welcome you back in a near future.
Wishing you the best,
Kind Regards.

We travelled with Thomson/Skytours. These apartments are sold as being in Puerto del Carmen, whereas they are actually in the suburb of Matagorda (a good 45minutes steady walk from the main resort) whereas the runway of Arrecife Airport is only a 20minute walk away. The beach is about a 10min walk.

We checked in easily, reception staff were polite and spoke good English. Extra costs such as WiFi in your room €18 per week (free WiFi in reception area) Security box key €12 per week.

Our upstair apartment was near reception, and consisted of a small kitchen area with breakfast bar separating it from the main living area with sofa and chair. French doors leading to a good sized balcony/sun terrace (with table and chairs) which in our case had both a sea view and pool view (as well as great views of the aircraft on final approach). Separate bedroom with twin beds and two good sized wardrobes, one of which contained the safe and the other an iron. We had a large flat screen TV, although generally the only English language channels were Sky News and BBC World News.
The beds were not very comfortable, and due to the time of year it was quite cold at night. Extra blankets and a limited number of electric heaters were available via reception. The room was clean. The decor/fixtures a little tired. The room also had a cleaning cupboard with a brush, mop, ironing board and a can of cockroach spray!

We were staying on an all inclusive basis:
Breakfast buffet was served between 07.30-09.30 and consisted of a good selection of cereal, fruit, cold meats, bacon, eggs, beans, sausage etc. Plenty of breads, croissants and the likes. Orange, apple or pineapple juice, coffee and teas..... Everything you could want.....plus some strange extras, mixed veg often appeared along with squid rings!!!
Lunch buffet was served 1300-1500 and consisted a mix of hot and cold foods. Soup/Salad a choice of "wrinkled" potatoes/chips/pasta or rice with various meat and fish. Cakes/fruit/ice cream for desert. Drinks available at lunch were Juices, beer, wine (red, white or rosé) fizzy soft drinks.
Dinner buffet served 18.30-21.30 for choices see lunch menu! Occasionally the meat choices were not to our taste i.e rabbit or the mysteriously labeled "typical island meats" (sorry but if you can't be more specific than that.....)
At more or less all other times drinks and snacks were available at either the main bar or pool bar.

Maid service was available every day except Wednesday and Saturday.

There are two pools (unsupervised) with ample loungers. Both were exceptionally cold. Although it was rumoured that the upper pool was heated. There were various organised activities during the day, the winners of which were awarded certificates during the evening entertainment.

Evening entertainment was patchy, mainly kids songs/dancing followed by audience participation quizzes, parrot show etc. We were treated to a couple of acts worth mentioning: a very good Male and female mime/balance/juggling type act and the 'Crazysland' show which was a mix of magic and mime, both shows very entertaining.

A convenient taxi rank and bus pick up area (day trips) is situated by the lower entrance, with public transport bus stops being a short walk away.

We found all the staff to be friendly, polite and helpful.

Checkout was painless, and although we had to be out of our room by noon (airport transfer just after 16.00) there was a luggage room in reception and we were allowed to use the all inclusive facilities until departure.

One last word.... CATS. Although the Canaries gets their name from the Latin word for dog, the complex has more than it's fair share of friendly felines.

Just returned from a two week AI stay at this hotel. (from Feb 9th) On arrival found that we had been allocated rooms on the ground floor when we had been hoping for one on a higher floor. In spite of reception being fairly busy we were treated with great courtesy by Juan the receptionist and he managed to find us suitable rooms. This set the scene for the whole holiday, I have never before encountered such pleasant, polite and accommodating staff anywhere I have ever stayed. Nothing was too much trouble, there were no huffs, puffs or 'faces' from any of them whatever they were asked or may have been feeling, and they worked long hours. We stayed in room 402 which had a lovely sea view and had the sun from about 10am until about 4pm.We thought that the variety of food at all mealtimes was very good with something there for everyone.
It was quite cold particularly in the evenings while we were there, when we brought this to the attention of the manager at one of her meetings she then provided heaters free of charge to those who wanted them, and when we asked for extra blankets we were given them immediately.
Some mattresses on the sun loungers would be a good improvement as they are quite hard, and a few more settees and comfortable chairs in the bar area would be nice. These are recommendations not complaints, in all honesty the hotel exceeded our expectations and is a very good three star, great value for money.
.

Room Tip: room 402 has a lovely sea view, room 422 doesn't have such a good view but has the sun all day.

apartment was clean and all inclusive meals catered for most people. staff friendly and helpful. pools good albeit cold at this time of year.close to beach and promenade. airport nearby so 5 minute journey to airport but not too loud.
top tips; take own table tennis bats and ball for using on table tennis table rather than waiting to hire;
go and view airplanes landing at end of prom!
get taxi to and from airport rather than transfers as cheaper and quicker - no waiting around.
Would recommend to friends.

We stayed at the Morromar from 16th to 23rd feb.1 week all inclusive bronze.Party of 8 (5 adults, 2 children and 1 infant).

Upon arrival (1pm) it was quite busy in the reception area and we where to early for check-in (2pm) but where given our all inclusive wrist bands and allowed to go and get some food and put our cases in the luggage room.

The restaurant/buffet area is clean and had alot of variety,Breakfast consists of a good selection of cereals and fresh fruit and yoghurt, hot selection has bacon, sausges(british sausage and on some days the hotdog type sausages) fried/scrambled eggs some local dishes like Spanish omelettes etc.Overall a good selection to cater for most people and the kids.

Lunch times and evening meals have a wide variety of dishes to sample and always have a couple of meat selections (Pork,Beef,Chicken) some fish dishes and a few veggie dishes. There are always chips available at lunch/evening so that kept the kids happy.

The hot food does go cold quite quick when you sit to eat but if you arrive a few mins after the service has opened then it wasn't that big a problem(also get a HOT plate from under the grill area)

Drinks a plenty with choice of juices and tea/coffee(these come from self service machines)

Back to our check in.At 2pm we checked in and where allocated 3 rooms (all twin beds) 336.337 and 339.337 and 339 overlook the pool area and got the sun in the morning but 336 was the best as the balcony got afternoon sun and was lovely.

They did have a mix up with our rooms but Juan on reception sorted this very quick and with minimal fuss(forgot a bed for my daughter ).

Our rooms where basic but clean and tidy and a good base to work from. With twin beds a sofa bed,TV(couple of English channels and Disney channel for the kids) and bathroom with one basin, bath with over shower and toilet.Kitchen area has twin hotplate/hob cupboards with some cooking implements and cups etc and a fridge.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and my daughter(1 year old) struck up a good friendship with Rosa who was always happy and joking with the kids.

They have a games for the older kids (pool, table tennis, games console etc) and in the evening they have a kids mini disco where the kids get to get up on a stage and all dance along and do the actions.

The entertainment for the adults consists of an act every evening at 9.30 ish ( a singer or magician or a show with birds etc.
Overall I would say this was very good for the money we paid for a party of 8

The only negative I can give this resort is that at this time of the year the pools are FREEZING (only the bravest of brave men dare enter it).If just one of the pools was heated then I would of given it 5 STARS.

Not going to give negative for no air conditioning as this time of year its not needed.

Beach is only 10 mins walk and the transfer from the airport is only 10 mins.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with sun in the afternoon

We stayed at Morromar on AI basis on 6/02/14 for 2 weeks as a couple. We were greeted by friendly helpful staff and when we got to our apartment we were surprised how spacious it was and spotlessly clean we had a lovely view of the sea from our balcony and could see the planes coming in to land which my partner loved. The complex is only a five minute walk to the beach and a short walk along the front to the airport or to local shops. Also outside the hotel is a taxi rank. Also plenty of eating places nearby if not on AI or if you fancy eating out. All staff are friendly and very helpful. I went to reception to ask for my single beds to be made as a double and was done within the hour although I said there was no rush as the room had already been cleaned and beds made that morning. Our room was cleaned everyday with clean towels regularly. This has been one of our best holidays, made special by the kindness of all staff, they work very hard yet always had a smile on there faces for the tourist, the entertainment team throughout the holiday were extremely good and even got my boyfriend to join in with activities. On valentines night they made a nice effort decorating tables in the restaurant and putting special food on, also animation team dressed up as cupid and assistants which was very nice and entertaining. The food was ok although at times not as hot as we would like but there was a microwave supplied so easy to warm it up. The manager is very friendly and always spoke and smiled when we saw her she also did a welcome meeting for everyone which we thought was very good and let all holiday makers know who the staff where. We will return in the near future. Overall a extremely enjoyable holiday.
