“Good enough if u find very cheap deal.”
Reviewed January 16, 2012

It was my first trip Lanzarote and to be honnest I made an mistake when I was booking this hotel I missed part when official rating is 3 keys not stars. Thats why I was shocked when walked in first time. They messed up with our rooms as I booked 2 doubles and they only had one apartament with 2 rooms. Exchanged after 2 days as nothing available next to each other and as satisfactory we have been issued with free tickets to water park for all group(5) worth 100E. I went to the pool area once when came in and never bothered after that as I did not like it at all. There is only one bar with queues all the time. only plastic glases available. Food was bad said very polite but again I messed with booking and expected different service. We had lunch once and then eat out every day. Other thing is that in the front of the restaurant (entertainment area) there are some flowers with very specific smell I found stinky not the best start before entering eating place:) but my gf said its natural so for some people it may be normal??. In overall I've paid very little money for all inclusive deal so I could not expect miracles but I would not go back as did not like the place because of first impression. It is ideal for someone with tight budget family etc. who want to go all inclusive. And yes evening entertainment consists from kids disco every day and I think little ones loved it. So yes don't expect miracles but u get what u pay for.

Room Tip: Has 2 types of rooms hills view and sea view with airport because is close. We had both as have been...

We stayed at Morromar for a week (2 adults + 2 children) and enjoyed it a lot. The whole hotel area (= village) with 2 different pools (one heated), restaurant and gym were very well taken care of - actually every place was remakably clean. We had a 2 bedroom appartment with quite large living room, kitchenette and nice patio with table and chairs. Worked very well for us!
The restaurant inside the hotel village is huge and offers from breakfast to all inclusive. We want to explore restaurants, so we only took breakfast buffee for every morning - that we recommend! There are not many good restaurants in Mataghorda, so if you don´t take all inclusive, be ready to walk a lot to find one. There is one good chinese restaurant right in the center and on the way to Puerto Carmen a nice Italian style restaurant ("Italic")

Room Tip: Don´t take a room on top of the restaurant building facing the big pool unless you want to have your...

clean, entertainment for kids, all inculsive covered every type of drink cava, wine, beer, cocktails, baileys, vodka, whiskey, water and minerals the only drink you couldn't get was cider.food was great for kids as they can help themselves to free ice-cream, chips and toast cheese and ham sandwiches all day but food got boring for adults after day 3. so well worth the money if you like a drink and have kids. safe fun apartments for kids.

Read all reviews about this hotel and decided to book a family holiday at xmas.Hotel itself was very clean the staff were friendly and helpful, all in all couldnt fault it.The one big letdown is the entertainment, well lets just say its non exsistent. The two girls on the animation team were great with the kids, but adults theres absolutly nothing for you day or night {unless your spanish}.For all you people thinking that your in puerto del carmen your not, this is a pleasent 40 minute walk away or 4 euros in a cab.Matagorda is a lovely place with a friendly atmosphere, the bars and resturaunts are very cheap so i suggest going self catering as food in morromar average {and luke warm}.If i was too return i would use morromar as a base as hotel itelf nice, pools warm and staff friendly, but would definatly eat out as cheap as chips.

We chose this place after reading TripAdvisor reviews of all our available options and were glad we did. The location is fantastic as it's only 10-15 mins from the airport and within easy reach of the lively Puerto Del Carmen. A walk to the beach takes less than 10 minutes and from there, the promenade continues for miles, with a great choice of bars, shops and restaurants to choose from. Our deal included breakfast, which was the usual buffet style but to a very high standard and varied from day to day. The place itself offers All Inclusive so there were a lot of families who spent most of the day there. They seemed to cater for the kids pretty well with lots of activities arranged throughout the day, but as you'd expect from AI, the alcoholic drinks were 'local' as opposed to well-known brands. There was also entertainment in the evenings but we only lasted one drink on the 2 evenings we ventured there. Personally, I wouldn't recommend AI or even half board, as you can get a great choice at great prices only a short walk away. On the downside, the hotel charge 12 Euros (plus 10 Euros security deposit) to hire an iron and also charge 10 Euros deposit to hire a remote control for the TV, then more again to watch certain channels. All we were able to watch were Eurosport and a business channel so we returned the remote early. It is a holiday so TV shouldn't be an important factor anyway. The rooms aren't air conditioned either, which wasn't a problem at this time of year, but worth considering mid-summer. The rooms are cleaned most days and to a very high standard. We were very impressed at the overall condition of the apartment and of the cleanliness of the whole village resort. Our balcony was a sun-trap which was a bonus as we noticed a lot of others that were always in the shade. The upper floor apartments with sea views pretty much guarantee sunshine all day long on their balconies so ask for them (our apartment number was 609). The hotel reception and one of the pool areas (there are 2 pools) offer Wi-Fi but at a charge of 2 Euros per hour. There is also a supermarket onsite which has a excellent choice of provisions. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would definitely return. This was our first visit to Lanzarote and we found it to be a beautiful island with lots to do and see, with the distinct advantage of not being as hilly as some of the other Canaries, so it's a great place for easy walking. Highly recommended for all ages.

The complex is like a mini village and the one bed apartment we stayed in was basic yet very clean and spacious, the pool area was clean and safe and we did'nt have any problems getting a bed. We had maid service on all but one of the days we stayed. Puerto del carmen is a decent walk or approx 4/5 euros in a taxi. The beach is a 5 min walk and there are some lovely bars, restaurants and shops on the beach front. We can't comment on the food in the hotel as we went self catering. We would suggest getting a taxi from the airport to the hotel as it is literally 10 mins and 10 euros.
All in all we enjoyed a peaceful week here and would definately return.
