Me and my wife thought this was a great apartment in a great location. Spotless rooms and pool area. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Quick advice about the resturants around, avoid the lani's poor food. great food in the old town.

Snacks at the toby jug on the strip in the day or La dolte vita at night. best food we had.

Best place to chill out at night is the cafe ola. brillant place. something different every night. flamenco dancers, live bands etc.

Myself and a friend have just returned from the Caleton Blanco and were extremely pleased with our stay. We stayed in room B20 a 2 bedroomed apartment on the top floor right on the end (105 steps road to door!), which overlooked the pool and had views of the sea. Apart from us being unfit, the apartment was one of the best equipped and clean we have stayed in. The kitchen has a microwave, kettle, toaster, 2 hob, and various pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, even cake forks (Very handy!!!) The fridge was a let down as it was barely cool enough to cool water etc. but had a small freezer compartment in it with an ice tray.
The brochure advertised a shower over the bath, but there was no bath, only a shower cubicle, toilet and 2 sinks. There were 2 bedrooms, both with twin beds, vanity area, and huge wardrobes with hangers, shelves etc. There was a safe in one of the rooms which you can hire for 14 euros per week.
The windows have a clever design as they are slatted below and you can leave them open during the day without any possibility of being broken into which was a boon in the hot weather.
The maid came 4 times the first week and 5 times the 2nd week, towels and bedding were changed 3 times per week.
The greatest asset was the balcony which was large with a big table and 5 chairs, however no sunbeds and because there's no way you could carry them up 2 flights of steps we bought lilo's and sunbathed on them. There was a decent pool with a kiddies pool next to it, plenty of sunbeds, but no umbrella's (again, unlike the picture in the brocure).
There were plenty of supermarkets and bars locally, we tried a few restaurants, but mainly ate at the Playa Mar, a 5 minute walk turning left from the apartment block, food was excellent, reasonably priced and waiters very friendly.
The downside I can see was the apartments did seem noisy at night, you could hear people going to the bathroom, doors slamming, people coming home etc so ear plugs would be recommended, if you were in A block I would imagine this to be noisy as it is near the front near the main road and reception, and block C also backs onto a side road. Reception isn't 24 hours either and there wasn't a telephone in the rooms so make sure you have a rep's telephone number for any emergencies. Also the tv only had sports channels on it (even though it was free).
There were a lot if Irish people in the venue who were very loud and their constant swearing wouldn't have been suitable for children (even though it was half term), but all in all I would recommend these apartments for the cleanliness, ameneties and location.

The location was excellent, literally cross the road and you are at the beach. The place was clean with bright white walls and the rooms were cleaned on a daily basis. To be honest, I'd never been to a resort and was expecting Lanzagrotty but the whole experience was fantastic. There are no pool bars at this place but they aren't needed because there are bars right beside the Caleton. There was some slight building work but it was forgiveable. Fantastic appartment.

Absolutely great apartments. Fabulous location right in the middle of PdC old and new towns. However, not at all noisy at night. Extremely spacious and well equipped accommodation. Pool area is nice and well maintained. Reception staff are great. Only slight downside is no pool bar but plenty of shops, bars, cafes etc right on your doorstep.

Me and my husband and 3 kids aged 9, 13 and 16 have stayed in puerto del carmen for 4 years now. We have usually stayed firther along the stip near the hotel san antonio. This area is a little quieter than where calento blanco is.
When we arrived at our apartents at 11pm, we walked up from the main road and climbed around 10 steps to reception. With keys in hand we headed for another small block of around 6 steps. Then around the next corner and another 6-10 steps, then again and again. In all we counted around 76 steps to our door. Very exhausting with heavy luggage.
On entering the apartments we were pleasantly suprised, we had a 2 bedroomed apartment and it was very big and clean, Modern decore and bright and spaciouse. Two single beds in the bedrooms and a pullout bed under the sofa. The kitchen was very well stocked with glasses, plates, bowls etc..The bathroom was lovely with two sinks and a brilliant shower. Strangely there is a room next to the front door which is about the size of a garden shed. It was empty exept for the electric cupboard. Turned out to be useful for storing suitcases and blowup pool toys and sandy flip flops.
The pool is ok, its extremely deep and adults cannot touch the bottom without at least a foot and a half of water above your head...ok for brave people. The baby pool is about knee deep.
Be warned though, many holidaymakers come out in the morning and place their towels on the sunbeds, but sometimes they dont even appear at the pool till 4pm ish after a trip perhaps. The staff in reception are very very pleasant and friendly. The shower room they have in reception for use for people on a late departure, is totally to die for. All marble and double sinks and double showers. It was heaven and i didnt want to leave. The majority of people staying here were irish and there are now a lot of irish and english bars along the front. These tend to be more expensive than the spanish bars and restaraunts.
Iff you go out just for a drink, its often cheaper to go to the bar to order than table service. As you walk along the front raise your eyes upwards and you will often find more bars and restaraunts ontop of the street level ones.
Do not buy electrical goods from the camera, dvd shops as they are all copys. One of the island guides told us this.
I liked to eat prawns in garlic oil as a starter, they are huge king prawns and very deliciouse. The kids enjoyed everything from pizzas (freshly made) to steak and chips (nice and cheap). However the lasagne is strange, they tend to use slices of ham instead of pasta. I cant get used to that.
At night we left our windows and shutters open as it was hot, we then heard lots of people coming back from nightclubs at all sorts of hours. Ear plugs do a wonderful job.
We didnt seem to have a problem with mosies which was nice, but our 16 year old had been bitten by what we were told later was a blister beatle. Yes you guessed it... itchy red lump turns into blister..pops then more blisters. Ended up yellow and crusty.
Anyway all in all it was an ok holiday but probably our last here. We have found that over the years it is getting to be like blackpool. All gaudy shops and pubs and clubs beltting out either sports on huge flat screen tv's, and mad clubbing music with mad people trying to encourage you into a bar or club.
Where have all the locals gone?
