weve been here good few times always treated well ,this time not so , we always email an are always answered but I noticed over the past 6/7 years all request or positive emails are answered but anything slightly negative are not answered me thinks our repeat buissness is not as valued as we thought , time to go back maybe to los jameos playa or somewhere else !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is still a nice hotel with fab staff , just management might need a shake up !!!!!!!!!!!

Thought we had done this once, but here goes again - My husband and I enjoyed 11 days at this lovely hotel from 4-15 March. Not having been to the island before, we were pleasantly surprised that there was loads to see and do. Our room was great with a lovely balcony and pool view. From the very warm welcome on day one from Rita on Reception through to the wonderful food and great entertainment, we can recommend this hotel and resort. Juan Carlos the Chef must be commended for the huge variety of beautiful food and Mr Thomas the Maitre De for non-stop attention in the restaurant. Jesus, a smiling and co-operative waiter has our thanks and also Sabrina, the sole lady in charge of Animation and Entertainment. She was full of energy and fun. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Room 133 or any of the ones adjoining on the ground floor were superb. Very quiet and in the sun ne...

Having just returned from a great two week stay,we felt the hotel was well worth a review. We contacted the hotel several weeks before arriving to ask if it would be possible to have a room on the top floor. We had a prompt reply from them to say they would do their best and we were given a cracking room with a superb sea view. The food was excellent with a good selection on offer. You do have to watch out for our Teutonic neighbours at meal times as they are very single minded when it comes to eating and are sometimes determined to get served first! The hotel is well situated adjacent to the enormous beach and there are plenty of loungers by the pool. One thing we noticed immediately was that this is probably the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in.The staff (and cleaners) were all very cheerful and helpful and we would return here for another holiday as soon as we can.

We booked this hotel through recommendations in Trip Advisor and were not disappointed The one downside was our room number 107 which was on the side of the hotel so no sun at any time making it a bit chilly We could not sit on the balcony at all because our week (March 6th to 13th) had cool mornings and evenings (Not the hotels fault!!) there was a safe in the room which we had to pay for though not a lot
We booked half board although we normally have bed and breakfast and were happy with our choice All buffet food wherever you go is repetitive but the hotel tried with Asian,ItalianCanarian night etc and the food was always very good The waiter staff were excellent We didn't book a time to eat just turned up and always were found a table we had one evening meal out for a change just a few hundred yards from the hotel
The pool is a good size and the sunbeds were very comfortable The pool was a little chilly at times but probably because of our cooler week We hired pool towels and got our deposit back at the end of our week
Most people were over 50 but there were some young couples with toddlers It probably wouldn't suit all families Thee was a mix of nationalities quite a few German and Scandanavian as well as British
The position was good quiet but within easy reach of facilities We saw the carnival whilst there which was excellent
We had a Thomson trip to see the volcano which was interesting although I wouldn't go on the trip again
All in all a good break away

Room Tip: Not on the side of the hotel

Just returned from a weeks holiday.
Location - directly on the promenade in Pocilos overlooking the beach just 10 mins transfer time from the airport. You can walk on the promenade into Puerto Del Carmen which is a nice walk. To reach the harbour at the far end of Puerto Del Carmen takes about 45 mins, but this was at a strolling pace, but to reach the beginning of Puerto Del Carmen where the bars/shops and restaurants start takes about 15 mins. We walked about 30 mins, stopped for a cold drink, then carried on until the harbour, looking in the shops on the way. You can get a bus if you want, but we didn't bother, a taxi cost just over 5 euros, but we also hired bikes for 24 hours at a cost of 10euros each. So you could cycle into the resort at your leisure and there is a cycle lane so you feel safe. Within Pocilos itself there are plenty of bars/restaurants and supermarkets, including a lovely tapas restaurant.

Food - excellent. You can choose from numerous fruits, yogurts, cereals, breads, cakes, porridge, omelette, with the traditional English breakfast. Fresh juices , teas and coffees which you just help yourself to on a morning. Lunch - Your drinks are served to you by the waiter, but numerous different dishes to choose from. Evening Meal - You can either book a table for your entire stay between 6.30 to 7.45 and you have the same table every night, or you can turn up after 8 and the waiter will seat you at an available table. We booked a table every night at the earlier slot and every night we arrived for our meal our water and wines were ready for us on the table which was a nice touch. DRINKS - cocktails, beers, soft drinks etc, one thing we did notice was if you were paying for your drinks you got fresh coffee and proper fizzy coke, but if you were getting them under all inclusive, you got machine coffee and flat coke. This was the only negative, but it didn't spoil anything for us.

CLEANLINESS - The hotel and grounds were spotless, rooms cleaned every day and towels changed whenever you wanted. The entire resorts of Pocilos and Puerto Del Carmen were spotless.

CATS - There were a couple of cats walking around, but you see cats everywhere you go abroad. They weren't a nuisance or a problem and we didn't see them every day.

STAFF - all really friendly and pleasant.

WEATHER - It was really windy - which you expect from the Canaries - so just take a cardigan or a coat for an evening.

SUNBEDS - A brilliant policy is the hotel doesn't allow guests to reserve sunbeds. So it was really refreshing not to see the morning stampede of sad people running with their towels. Loads of beds free.

ROOM - we had 132 - which was a nice size with one of the bigger balconies, we got the sun from first thing until 4 in the afternoon.

SUMMARY - Really nice hotel, great food, spotless, great location, we wouldn't return but this is only because we like to try somewhere different every holiday, but I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a weeks break here late March and I must say the Cleanliness of the hotel was by far the best I have experienced in all my years of travelling abroad. The food was very tasty and always fresh and restaurant staff very attentive. Only down side was not a great deal of choice , although this is more constructive than a complaint. There was one waiter in bar at night , wish we had got his name, who was most attentive and polite and remembered what we liked to drink that on most occasions we didn't have to ask and it was delivered to our table with a smile and a joke. Would recommend this hotel most definitely for a relaxing Winter break for couples, although better for older than the young.

Room Tip: Ask for late afternoon sun rooms , lovely and quiet.

This is our 3rd time to stay at La Geria over the past two years. The Hotel is nice but we didn't find it as pleasant as on the two previous occasions. My wife and I thought the food was not quite as good but we still enjoyed our stay. We will go back again at some stage.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms have sea views - ask for 1st, floor or above - rooms on the south side have aftern...
