A great bunch of people .
Absolutely professional and safety conscious - with a genuine enthusiasm for what's under the sea , as well as a first-class attitude towards customer service.
They do everything they possibly can to make sure you have a good diving experience.
Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Let's be honest - diving can be a scary experience. It can be a bit daunting if you're unused to it.
I had completed an Open Water PADI course a couple of years ago, and had not dived since, but was keen to turn my Lanzarote trip into a diving holiday.
I came across the Lanzarote Dive Centre randomly on a walk (it's in the new town, away from where most are ie it's not down in the Harbour). I explained that I was a bit wary, out of practice, and frankly a little scared about diving again(!)
I need not have worried.
From the offset, the team at the Lanzarote Dive Centre could not have been nicer - they were patient, professional ,listened carefully to all my concerns, and took time to explain everything ,
Jackie in particular spent time thoroughly explaining everything, from where the dive sites were, to safety procedures, to what I could expect to see on a dive.
She and her team could not have been more helpful or professional and this applies across the board - whether it's offering to pick you up beforehand (rather than have you walking in the baking 38 degree heat) , helping you get into the wetsuit, checking equipment , going though 'need-to-know ' basics, paying absolute attention underwater and making a real and concentrated effort to point out interesting aquatic life underwater.
I completed four dives with the Lanzarote Dive Centre - 2 from the beach at Playa Chicas and 2 from the boat (which took in a wreck etc )
I mentioned earlier that I was a bit scared about diving again but Jackie was excellent. She quite literally lead me by the hand for the first couple of dives, which was very reassuring and enormously helpful ; like I say , these people really do care about making your diving experience thoroughly enjoyable (and safe!) . They will go out of their way to make sure you have a good time.
The Lanzarote Dive Centre is run by a husband and wife team and their record is incredibly impressive - if you check out their website at http://www.lanzarotedivecentre.com/dive-team/ you will see that Jackie has an amazing 7,000 dives under her belt !!! (She's not even old!) And Scott has more than 3,000 . To my mind, these are very reassuring stats. These people know what they're doing.
Spend some time with them, and you will soon know what to do too.
As it happened, I did my first dive of the trip with another diving school (Manta) who were positively reviewed here and in the Lonely Planet etc . I went with them initally due to the fact that they had a free slot available sooner. However as you will see elsewhere on Trip Advisor I had serious reservations about the other dive school, largely due to their failure to do things like check for names, insurance and go through pre-dive routines etc. Diving with the Lanzarote Dive Centre was incredibly reassuring by comparison - they take time to check for insurance and to make sure you have you accreditation etc. This stuff is really impotant so I was glad they took the time.
So to Jackie, Scott , Marianna (or is it Marcella? sorry , apologies, I'm terrible with names!!) and Nando, - thank you all for making my diving experience so enjoyable! Hope to see you again in the not-too-distant future.
And if you're still reading this review ( well done for getting this far down -) I would ask- what are you waiting for ?
