This was our first visit to Lanzarote and we stayed in a bungalow - a time share that we had rented privately. We loved it. The bungalow had recently been refurbished, as had most of them from what we could gather - in fact they were still doing some of them up. The room was exceptionally clean and a cleaner came in 5 days in 7, the maintenance was brilliant, when we had a problem with the back door we reported it to reception and by the time we had got back to the bungalow the maintenance man was right behind us to fix it.

The couple of things that stopped this from getting a five was the swimming pools, beautiful to look at but unheated - to any level - and were absolutely freezing, too cold to go in. I had visions of swimming every day, however we found the sea was actually warmer! The other was the receptionist. When we arrived at about 3pm (having been up since 3am) she was on the phone - fair enough. However she didn't even acknowledge us, and finished her call, promptly picking up a mobile phone and disappearing into the back office. When she finished that she made another phone call, by which time we had been standing there for over 10 minutes and other people had joined us waiting. She finally looked up and asked who was next! I was distinctly unamused. She was pretty off with us each time we went there, however by the end of the week there was another receptionist there who was much more pleasant.

Room Tip: Go for a bungalow.

My partner and I stayed at the Costa Sal for a week from the 22nd of February to the 1st March. This was our third time to stay here and were not dissapointed as usual. It is a wonderful complex, with everything to hand and beaches and restaurant all within walking distance. The restaurant within the complex is called ZEST is wonderful with good food served daily at very reasonable prices, so there is no need to go out. The staff are all great, very helpful and make you feel at home and are all English speaking, and the owners are very hands on also. Overall thanks to Nikki who looked after us very well and to all the staff thank you for another wonderful stay see you soon. From the 2 Irish lads , Pat and Kevin

We stayed here last year too and wrote a good review. One gripe we had was that you had to pay for cushions to place on your sun bed. No more. Whilst we were there all the beds have been replaced by new beds that are far more comfortable, well done on listening to feedback.

In summary, great apartment. Very clean. Recently modernised. One of the best receptionists we have ever met, she is first class. Staff all friendly. Great pool areas to catch the sun all day. Quiet and peaceful.

Great break.

Stayed at the Costa Sol for 2 weeks in February. Refurbished apartment was excellent. Great location, 400 yds from the beach and promenade that extended along the sea for miles in each direction. Had a few evening meals at the resort and the standard of the food was always very good.
Staff were friendly and helpful. BBC 1 & 2 available on the television. Cleaning was of the highest standard and WIFI was available in the room for about £2 per day.
Great break helped of course by the excellent weather.
Some plane noise but not really an issue or problem.

Room Tip: All the apartments are being refurbished to a high standard. If you want to be private and very qui...

Just back from a week staying in the costa sal. Must say great choice. We stayed in a one bedroom superior apartment. at the time of booking ( on the hotel own site) i requested a sea view which we got and was delighted with as the views were fantastic. My friends booked a superior apartment also but they got it on the ground floor and had a terrace and no sea views. The apartments were spotless ( cleaned every day) and very well decorated, but I do think the beds would need upgrading to be on par as the living room decor. Tv had BBC, RTE and other channels. and the kitchen had everything.
The complex itself was so clean, the gardens and pool area was lovely. The restaurant was very nice and very reasonable. They had evening entertainment most evenings and held BBQ nights and pig racing. The bar staff were very nice and made us some lovely cocktails.
Location is really good. the beach is only 5 minutes walk and there is matagorda commercial centre only 5 mins down the road which has restaurants and bars and supermarkets and souvenir shops.
The airport is only a 15-20 min walk along the beach, well worth a visit to see the planes flying over your head.
For nights out we went to the Centro Atlantico in PDC which had loads of late bars and clubs. I'd recommend for places to eat is a Asian restaurant called ENJOY, and also an indian called Fazz's. Also Cafe la Ola is also worth a visit to have a cocktail.
Taxi to the main strip is about €4 to €5.
I'd defo recommend hiring a car and see the island. The north side has so much beautiful scenery and beachs.

Room Tip: request sea view upper floor-room 314 had amazing views of the beach, cruise ships passing and plane...

Stayed 8 nights recently, upgraded to a 2 bed-roomed apartment for more space. Cannot find a single fault: accommodation was very good, spacious, with regular cleaning. Near several supermarkets. Terrific prom nearby, walked and cycled for miles each way. Food in restaurant very good. Staff really professional; they go out of their way to help you.
Only hitch was the WiFi at our apartment (401) - signal was weak. However it was fast in reception and there are also 3 computers for guests use anyway.
Will be back

We stayed here with our not quite 2year old daughter in May; we booked a luxury apartment and everything in it was lovely, and very well equipped. The balcony was very safe for out little one. The complex is kept very clean, and all the staff are lovely. The on site restaurant is great value, and a delicious choice too. The only downside was that the air conditioning had not been turned on yet in the apartments, it did get a little too warm in there at times for our little one
