“Value for money”

You get what you pay for. We had an apartment looking out on the road and sea view in the distance. Room was clean and tidy. Entrance does no justice and needs a tidy up to make it more enticing. We have no complaints whatsoever about la Florida. We paid cheap and so had no big expectations and so we weren't disappointed. I would stay there again. There is a great shop downstairs and I think it's quite a good location. Not so fond of the steep hill though. The bus terminus is just within walking distance so that is a plus. We love the old town also as that is just down the hill. No complaints here.

It took a long time in deciding to go for this hotel. We were on a fairly tight budget and although this place came up one of the cheapest, the reviews were very confusing! After a bad holiday two years ago, I was very wary of making another bad choice. However this was a GREAT choice!!

There is no parking space outside the hotel so the bus dropped us off a bit further up the road outside a bar (Purple Turtle). We walked down to the hotel and through a little corridor to the entrance to find it all locked up - this was only 10pm at night so first impressions were not good. Then we saw the note saying go to Purple Turtle to get your keys and enter by the side gate, which we did (lugging heavy cases all the way) The side gate is coded, then once in you have to find your own room. Fortunately we met a couple who had arrived the night before and they helped us out. We were on the second floor, there are no lifts so this was awkward with cases but Im pleased we werent on the fourth floor!

By the time we reached the room we were getting a bit annoyed, but were pleasantly suprised by the room. It was huge! And a free bottle of water - excellent as the supermarkets were closed.

Bedroom - More than big enough. Bed was two singles pushed together making it way bigger than a double. One fitted wardrobe and bedside tables with lamps. The wardrobe contained a safe for which you could hire a key from reception. My only slight issue with the bedroom was that there was no drawers, did make it a little harder to keep things tidy. Personally I found the beds uncomfortable, but my husband thought they were fine. There was a window in here but it didnt let a lot of air into the room.

Bathroom - Was long and thin, but a good size. It had a bath as well as a shower. They also supplied some soap so you could have a wash as soon as you got in which was a nice touch, you always feel scruffy after travelling.

Kitchen - was part of the living area but separated off by a breakfast bar. It has everything that you could need including a coffee machine! Never have I had one of these when going self catering!! My husband is a coffee man so that really made his day :-) There was a microwave, toaster, kettle and a fridge with freezer compartment. Cuttlery, pans and utensils were all in good condition and they were great to cook with.
We like to cook ourselves on holiday if possible and this was one of the best kitchens we have had. I really couldnt fault it.

Living area - had sofa and chair which were really comfy, coffee table and tv. Tv had to be paid for extra if you wanted it.

Balcony - This was really big. It had a table and chairs, which we made use of for evening meals. There was a small expandable clothes line too. Balconies werent overlooked by other rooms so you had privacy for sunbathing if you wished. Ours had sun from 9am until about 7pm. There was a lot of doves, so you did have to wipe the table down before use - not the hotels fault as they cant control birds!

The decor was old, tired and tatty, but that doesnt matter to us - Im not on holiday to look at how tidy the paintwork is!

The maid came in to clean 5 times a week, towels were changes three times a week and bed linen once a week. Toilet rolls were topped up with towel change too.

The pool area was a bit on the small side, but there was only one day we couldnt find room to sit. Loungers were not available until 9am, then put away at 8pm. We didnt usually use the pool until the afternoon, and loungers were available. The pools were cleaned every day, at about 7am a man was methodically cleaning and water changing them. My husband watched him a few times and was impressed by him. They did get a little dirty towards the end of the day but you always get that with suncreams etc going in the water. The baby pool was a great place to sit and cool down - it was usually full of adults just sitting chatting! The pools were saltwater, which we prefer as saltwater is more hygienic than chlorine. The sea here is the cleanest we have ever been in (we are scuba divers so have been in a lot of sea!), so if the pool was filled from the sea - great!

There was a small bar/food area but we did not use it, as the supermarket under the hotel was incredibly cheap so it made more sense to do snacks etc ourselves. Also the bar didnt have free WiFi but both bars either side of the hotel did......

Reception was closed more than it was open, but to be fair we didnt really need it. Our only annoyance was it was easier for us to get out of the hotel via reception, but we couldnt do that most of the time. If you did need assistance then the receptionists were usually in the bar area when reception was closed.

All in all we thought this hotel was a great find, and have been looking at flights to come back next year. Its a 2 star hotel so dont expect 5 star accomodation, its rough round the edges but thats part of the charm.

Due to no lifts and the location of the hotel (up a hill), this one may not be suitable for those with health problems, the elderly or those with children in push chairs.

The supermarket under the hotel was amazing, the best we have ever found on holiday. Its know locally as being cheap too, so not just for tourists. They had fresh bread on site, loads of fresh fruits and a butchers counter. It had everything you could possible need, just like staying over a min-Asda! This kept our food bills down, cooking a few cheap meals in meant we had money to spend on other things.

An absolute bargain holiday, so pleased we chose this hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for 1st or 2nd floor to avoid luggage/stair issues!

Myself and my partner stayed here for two weeks in August. On appearance the hotel looks rather dated, and when coming up to the hotel it doesn't look very nice. When we picked up our keys, the receptionist had a baby with her which we thought wasn't very good, she paid more attention to the baby than us- the new arrivals. First impressions and all that. We then lugged our cases up to the room, there is no lift but we was only on the second floor so it wasn't too bad, good job we're both fit. Wouldn't be very good for pensioners though or those who have health problems. When we got into our room, we saw it was clean however dated- cracked tiles in the bathroom and kitchen, not modern at all. We got a free bottle of water which was great as we was gasping for a drink, would have been better in the fridge as it was warm.

The bedroom wasn't too bad, rather small for two people. The wardrobe doors didn't shut at all, the beds where very uncomfortable, the lamp by the side of the bed had dodgy wiring and kept sparking so we couldn't use it, the ceiling could have done with a lick of paint as it looked awful with marks on etc. The bedroom was quite small, a little walk way around the bed but not much room at all. There is a safe in the wardrobe, which we rented out for €30 and got a €6 deposit back at the end of our stay. There is a glass panel that covers the wooden slats that act as a window, it does slide open but not safe to leave open when out for obvious reasons. The bed sheets are awful, when you turn over they just disappear onto the floor, very slidy.

The bathroom was ok- as far as bathrooms go. Had a sink, shower over a bath, toilet, this other toilet type thing (you know what I mean), two lights over the sink (one which had dodgy wiring and didn't work so left us with one light), bathroom is quite small for two people. There are tiles cracked and broken, there is rust around the plug hole in the bath and at the top of the bath. The shower is awful, not powerful at all. The toilet seat was also wonky which led to me nearly falling off a few times when drunk. However the bathroom did the job.

The kitchen was basic, again dated with cracked tiles, but I guess it did the job. The fridge is rather small for two people, fitting water bottles in and food, it also had a freezer compartment which was tiny, the fridge didn't seem cold enough even with the correct temp. There is a dining table, plates provided, cups etc, toaster, a small couch which was very comfortable- better than the beds! There is also a television, which you have to pay for but being young we knew we wouldn't watch tv, so didn't bother. The balcony was good, spacious and had a table and chair set.

The rooms were cleaned five times a week, towels changes three times a week- however this was done more than even needed which was brilliant, bedding changed once a week. If it wasn't for the maids doing a fantastic job, we would have found another hotel to stay at.

The swimming pool was average- don't be fooled by the picture of the bridge over the pool, it has changed since then! The pool itself was very salty and we realised it didn't get cleaned properly at all, every morning there was a hose pipe in it- salt water from somewhere, not properly cleaning and treating a pool in my eyes. The pool was freezing but it did get warmer towards the end of the two weeks when the weather reached 40 degrees++. Hotel policy is that no sun beds should be reserved, this clearly isn't being promoted and kept to as when we got up at nine every morning and go down to the pool, there was no sun beds left and towels on sun beds when it clearly states no reserving. This was very annoying as we ended up either sitting on chairs or going down to the beach, surely we shouldn't have to get up at 7am just to reserve a sun bed when policy says otherwise. The sunbeds are basic, and uncomfortable, so you can rent a foam mat for €1 a day which makes it better. The pool area is clean which is good.

The hotel is basic, and wasn't as good as we expected. We wouldn't recommend it at all even though it is in a good location- supermarket below and near shops, around a 15 minute walk to the beach. Not good for couples and would NOT stay here again.

just back from 1 week in La florida apartments. booked in April for a really cheap deal for a family of 3 SC £849. We normally go to cyprus but so so expensive this year plus the carry on with the banks we decided a cheap deal to Lanzarote.
Before I booked I checked on tripadvisor regarding the apartments and the location to airport etc. I was not disappointed. Only 15 Euros from airport to apartments. However, on arrival I could have died as it looked frightening as it is up an alley way as the main reception was closed so had to pick keys up at local bar. Nevertheless, we got to out apartment 309 (emailed previously for a "quite room" due to tripadvisor advise!). Apartments were very basic and dated but big enough and a great balcony. you get what you pay for! There was no air conditioning which at first was ok but during the night it was a nightmare, sweat was dripping off us. I recommend hiring a fan!
We booked B&B and the area where you get breakfast is a big crap looking but as previous reports on here it was SPOTLESS. breakfast was amazing, the woman cooked it fresh for you every morning, and there was a table with coffee, teas, toast etc. It was only an extra £50 for the 3 of us to go B&B and worth every penny.
The pool was spotless too and plenty of sun loungers around. My daughter had a ball and met lots of friends.
The location at night was good, a bit of a walk to the main Puerto Del Carmen strip (about 10-15 min walk) up hills too, but you didnt mind the walk your on holiday. I recommend Route 66 for a night out, cocktails to die for. and the Galleon down at the main strip had brilliant food, like curries and chillis etc.
Also near the old town harbour with amazing views and bars etc.
Would I go back? Probably but take a FAN!! Please remember it is a 2 star and it is basic but very clean and great location out the way of all the noise of the main strip.

Myself and my husband are just home from a week in La Florida apartments and we would definitely return!

We stayed in room 104 which was in a nice location, beds were comfy, huge balcony and spacious living area.

The housekeeping staff came in 5 times a week, we got fresh towels 3 times and new bed linen once. They always left the place spotless and we found them very trustworthy.

The pool was a good size, quite deep in parts. Plenty of sun loungers available, you can rent a mini matress for them for €1 per day.

When coming from the airport I would say get a taxi for about €15-€17.
We booked a transfer in advance for €9 each with a company called Viajes urbus, we waited over an hour to leave the airport and then after dealing with an extremely rude member of staff she said we'd be waiting a further 40 mins!
When we finally got on the bus, the bus and driver were fine but after a day of travelling you dont want to be waiting ages on a bus.. AVOID THEM!

There's lots to do in the area, only a 4min walk to the shopping centre and 8mins to the strip. I'd recommend a stroll down to the strip and a taxi back for €3. Plenty of free wifi available in the local bars and restaurants : )

we stayed here in June and was slightly and we were slightly disappointed with the room. we stayed in room 315, the room and bathroom had many cracked tiles on the floor making the room look dirty. the balcony had lots of bird dropings on the railings and countless cigerette ends in plant tubs. it was a shame because we'd stayed here year before in room 106 which was a lovely room with sea view. I believe they are doing a lot of the apartments up do perhaps we were just unlucky this year. the maid came almost everyday changing towels and bedding so overall it was clean. the pool area is very nice pool is cold but you soon warm up once your in our children were never out of it. pool bar is very reasonable €1.5 for large beer or a soft drink. breakfast there is very nice too €3.50 for a standard one or €5 for the buffet breakfast which includes as much toast cereal drinks and full English as you like. great location for getting to the harbour its only a short walk to the bottom of the strip or €2 in a taxi and overall for what we paid we cannot complain it's clean and staff are very friendly. we will more than likely go back :)

We have booked in here for three months. The appartments are nice mostly privately owned so all a bit different. At the moment there. Seems to be quite a bit of refurbishment work being done so dont expect a long lie in.. The pool are is really nice and if you get a top floor apartment you get nice sea views. The reception closes early so you have to pick your keys up from the bar next door if you arrive late. Tho apartments are in a nice location in the old town but it is half way up quite a steep hill and there are lots of stairs to climb to the higher floors.

Room Tip: Get a higher floor
