Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at the Cinco Plazas from 3/1/13 to 10/1/13 with my husband, brother and sister-in-law. Very clean all throughout the complex (pool, gardens and apartments). Staff and reps (Gareth & jazmin) very friendly. Very Good Central location. Had been to the same complex back in December 2003 (on honeymoon) and would stay there again.

Room Tip: An apartment by the pool is very convenient, either ground or first floor.

We stayed at these apartments 13-27 December. Accomodation was fine for a 2 key apartment.
Reception staff were very helpful and polite. The pool bar was fine for snacks and drinks. The restrauant was not what we expected.
it was only suitable for the scandinavian clientel The pool area was not big enough for the amount of people sitting around okay if you like to be familiar with somebody you do not no.
The entertainment was for all the scandinavians nohing in english. Because this was xmas we expected a little bit more for eveyone.Xmas gala dinner was on the 24th December as the sacndinavians celebrate this day as there xmas.No celebrations for the Brits.no one was interested in wishing us a merry xmas on the 25th there xmas had finished. This is a NORDIC HOTEL which is part of the TUI Group which is a part of the Thomsons Group Thonmsons shuold be working together for every one including the vey nice irish prople.
The good point is we had a fantastic rep called Jazz she could not do enough for us. very understanding of the situation..The TV was rubbish something left over from the eighty's no channels except for bbc 1 bbc2 NI. Location of the apartment very good.

This hotel is okay for a base to get to the beach.

We've stayed at Cinco Plazas several times. The complex is well kept and the apartments are airy and comfortable. There can be noise issues -depending on who is located above or below you. We had a very peaceful 5 days -followed by 2 disturbed nights by a young family with 2 rather uncontrolled children! If this had been our experience at the beginning of our holiday we'd have asked at reception for an alternative room. (They are usually quite accommodating if they have flexibility).

3rd week in October, 7 of us in 2 apartments, half board. The food was passable, the hotel
night life suited the majority of those staying in the self catering apartments. We guessed this was about 95% judging by the smell of bacon and eggs as you walked by the pools which did not open until 10, of necessity two of you had to be waiting by the sun bed stacks when the padlock's were taken off, to ensure you got the ones with backs that lifted & locked in place, few people had the hotel breakfast. you need to be able to stay up until the early hours, as the Irish & those from North of the Watford Gap do, along with their children, talking loudly, shouting & screaming up to 3am,This is our 2nd trip to the Canaries, it was the last, I much prefer the eastern mediterranean. group ages I'm 70, wife if 63, daughters 33 & 37, grandsons 6 & 10, son-in-law 42. The Cinco is a pleasant walk down to the seafront & nights life, which consists mainly of of places to eat ( not surprising), it is a slog back uphill afterwards. We did get up early & go to the volcano, another disappointment, silly of me I was expecting a volcano, not a griddle they were cooking chickens & sausages on, however, the coach trip was worth it, & the show on the rocks that demonstrated how hot they were, but make a point to get there very early, there is limited parking, we left @ lunchtime & the vehicles were queued back to the main road, at least a mile & was not moving. & yes the weather was good & hot.

this is our 4th visit to Lanzarote but this year we stayed at the Cinco Plazas from 6th Dec 2012 to 13th Dec 2012 and loved every moment of our holiday. We were at Puerto del Carmen in Dec 2011 too but stayed at the Plaza Palmeras through Thomas Cook,(see my review on the Plaza Palmeras) but for some reason or other Thomas Cook weren't flying from Newcastle in early Dec'12 this year so we booked through Thomson right back in Feb'11 for our December holiday at the Cinco Plazas with the added bonus of it being at a fantastic price of just £486.00 altogether for the two of us.(must admit I never saw it go as low as this again throughout the year)
Check in was good - reception staff very friendly and the Thomson rep at the Cinco Plaza was really nice. We had a stuidio (room number 2237) and knew before we went that these were not located overlooking any of the 3 pools but this was not an issue for us at all. Our very large balcony overlooked the road which is on the same side of the entrance to Cinco Plaza and it got the lovely winter sun later in the afternoon til dusk. The studio was spacious enought for the two of us and very clean with adequate facilities ie microwave, cooking rings, fridge, kettle, toaster, tv etc etc. We had no trouble with any noise and slept well every night of our stay.
we paid for the safety deposit box and it was right on the bottom in the wardrobe which was really awkward when you wanted to use it as you practically had to lie on the floor ! plus my ipad wouldnt fit into it so that ended up being hidden or carried around with me. also paid for the Wifi, that was 18 euros for the 7 days. it actually worked from our studio, though at times it was a bit tempremental, but worth every penny as I like to keep in touch with family at home via the intranet.
the hotel grounds were lovely and well kept - the pools all looked lovely and I can see the attraction for these apartments for families.
location wise these apartments are spot on and you had a vast choice from the many restaurants & bars within easy walking distance.
We went self catering and enjoyed picking when and where to eat. every where we ate was lovely and not really that expensive. The supermarket just up from the apartments was pretty reasonable in their prices too.
The resort was quite, but still enough going on to keep us entertained. We did the Tequise market ont he Sunday (4 euro each) and playa blanca market on the Wednesday(10 euro each) through Customer Travel just down from the apartments, no problems with them at all.
weather was just right - bit cloud at times but the sun always got out at some point during the day and warm with it. some other guests at the apartments were lying on loungers by the pools but we didnt as preferred to just go out and about during the day.
all in all we loved the Cinco Plazas, loved Puerto del Carmen & loved what Lanzarote had to offer. I would definately go here again (which I probably will end of 2013).

Room Tip: if there is just two of you and you want to keep the cost of the holiday down then go for the studio...

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Cinco Plazas, and must admit had to keep reminding ourselves it was December, the weather was fantastic, actually went up to 103 deg on our balcony!!!!!!!!!!
We had a great first floor room with brilliant views of two of the pools, overlooking the town with Fuertaventura in the distance and also the mountains to the right. You could watch the ferries back & forth and from the rooms at the rear could see the planes at hotel level just before they landed,BUT had non of the noise. We were up top this time, and couldn't fault the size of the rooms.
We were self catering and ate at various places including the snack bar,and also at Taberno Ninos, just down from the apartments on the opposite side of the road, the lamb was to die for and the service was excellent. We also liked it as you didn't have the hike back up Cardiac Hill!!!!!!!!
That is the main fault, especially if you have problems walking, people say 'its not a problem' and to be honest 20years ago it wasn't,but things change!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want a good night out try the Drag show,it was brilliant, very funny and suitable for kiddies, there were a few when we went but they show was treated with respect,I certainly wouldn't hesitate to take kids.We had the roast pork for eats & it was delicious, well woth the money.
Plenty of shops, most with the usual holiday 'tac' but amonst the those shops some rally nice ones,we did find the constant pestering ,trying to get you to go and eat annoying but just say you've eaten and that's the end of that.Plent of cash machines around so if anyone uses cards not a problem.

The Cinco Plaza Apartments are located a few minutes walk from the main strip in Lanzarote. Our apartment could sleep up to four people. There were three of us so there was plenty of room. The apartment was very pleasant to stay in, with a big living room area, double room and a good sized bathroom. The shower was good quality. There was also a balcony that you could sit out and enjoy the sun if you didnt want to sit by the pool. The apartments are really popular so it was really busy there. The bar and restaurant have really nice food and cocktails and offer entertainment for the children. The apartments are a few hundred yards from the office where you can book days out. Everything is within walking distance so its a great location to stay in. I have no complaints to make about the apartments.
