“Good budget appartment”
Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

Having just returned from this location I can honestly say it's well worth the money.
PDC (Puerto Del Carmen) is a large resort on a hill, this hotel is a fair way up it! It's about a ten minute walk to the front but a good 15 back, this gives the advantage of not being too busy but close enough to all the things to do.
The complex is clean and tidy but in need of an update, the aparments are in a square around the very clean yet VERY cold pool which has plenty sun beds. Due to the shape of the complex our room (242a) had sun on the terrace from about 09:30 until sun set. if you would like to take advantage of this rooms 1 to 20 and 40 to 50 get this but the rest are shaded on the front for a lot of the day. There is a supermarket next door and a spar 5 mins walk away, there is a pool bar on site that puts on some evening entertainment.
The room we had was a studio and was large enough for a temporary bed if required, the furniture was dated but capable of doing the task, there was T.V. Toaster, two ring hob, microwave and utensils. There is a safe at an extra cost of 13 euro per week.
The bath was chipped and the mirror tired but again generally functional.
The lower rooms and area has ramps and access for wheel chairs everywhere, best I've ever seen for wheelchair access!
Again well worth the money and I would recommend a stay but expect a walk and a three star facility.

Just returned from a short break to the bitacora apartments and was very happy with our choice. Nice, clean and bright apartments with a spotlessly clean pool area. Friendly staff in both reception and the bar. Maid service was every 2nd day and only got our towels changed once however this was fine as it tells you this on their website. Location was fine for us but could be a problem for people with walking difficulties. All in all though i would recommend the bitacora club.

It was our first time to Lanzarote. We were looking for cheap accomodation and as we were told at home, it's all pretty much the same.
Bitacora was fine, could do with a refurb, it is very very basic, but was ok for what we needed it as we barely spent any time there apart from sleeping. If I was to spend more than a week in Lanza though, I would definitely look for a place where you have something to do on a rainy day.
The pool bar has a very limited menu, nothing to reflect the local area at all, which is a pity and the food isn't the nicest, although the guy was friendly and helpful.
Couldn't fault the receptionist guys at any stage, very nice and helpful people!
Bitacora could be a great place with a bit more investment and an upgrade on the bar!

Room Tip: Go upstairs, if you don't want to be up at 8 am for your neighbours walking above you, 'cos...

we stayed from the 29th of jan to the 5th of feb we had such a good time im thinking about going back again in sept for longer. We were a young couple so we had our doubts about staying here but that was all cleared up once we checked in and the staff were so friendly, i found it very quite but at the same time it was relaxing i would give these apartments a 10/10 when we had 1bad day out of the whole week we could stay in and watch tv as they had rte it was a home a away from home.My only problem with these apartments was we barely had any sun light coiming into our apartments as it was on the lower floor number120 but next time i'll book for an apartment on the higher floor. All the shops and bars were only a 10minute walk which was fine as it passed the day away.I found the pool, bar, apartments, reception to be very clean and i could not fault them in any way.I would recommend the bitacora to everyone.

Room Tip: higher rooms have better sun light

We arrived on the 29th of Jan till yesterday the 5th of feb 2013, we found the staff very polite and friendly even the cleaners were lovely.
The bar staff were a credit to Jenny and all the team.
The complex was in a quite area away from the shops and bars about a ten minute walk down the famous cardiac hill or 15 minutes walking back up, we got a taxi most nights.
The Cheapist shop for anything was the spar , directions are turn left out of the front door, left again along the road till the end of the road , then left again for about 25 yards down a little hill , total time to shop about ten minutes.
The shop in the complex is double on most things.
The channels on the tv were all English ie bbc 1 and 2 , itv channel 4 and 5.
The safe was two euros per day and Rodri on reception was very helpfull and nothing was too much trouble.
We will 100 percent be going back and hopefully meet the famous Geraldine this time , because we do read the comments from the manager and love some of the responses the manager has to deal with as we cannot understand anybody not being very happy with there stay, the problem with a lot of customers is they find it very easy to complain but do not compliment enough when things are good.
Well done Bitacora.
Morgan and Sharon xx

We had a great time when we stayed, so much so that my mum has gone back and I will be heading back soon. Monday night is great value for money as Jenny and her staff put on a 3 course meal for only 10 Euro and there is also a drag show.......

Rooms very 5 years passed their refurb date, kids pool was that dirty we never let our kids anywhere near it, no kids club, no entertainment. Would definitely not go near this place. Don't want to appear negative, just being honest and don't want other people to be extremely disappointed on arrival.
