we stayed at this hotel ,very nice hotel ,cleaned every day food we thought was better at lunch time and the beer glasses for al are a laugh we asked barman for a pint pot and he said that we could only have the smallest beer glass i have ever seen, when asked why they told us it was to do with the fighting, english i asked they laughed and said the spanish carnt handle the beer as it was them who where fighting with each other , hotel is mainley spanish and are so catered for ,we got 2 1/2 of the beer glasses in to a tall spirit glass so as you can tell we where at the bar alot, and you arnt supposed to get more than one glass at a time, the location is to far away from carman but a good hotel if you are not after a good night life as it is in a quiet area BUT GREAT PLACE TO SEE THE PLANES LANDING

Dear Jason W,

Firstly i would like to thank you for sharing your experience at Sol Lanzarote. We really appreciate every feed back from our guests, and in this occasion we are very glad to know that you enjoyed with us overall.
In regards to our location as you mentioned we are in a quiet area 40 mins walk away from Puerto Del Carmen. However let me say for future reference that you can get to Puerto del Carmen in less than 10 minutes by taxi and it won´t cost more than 5 euros. The beach that we have in front of us is worth to see.

Once again thank you very much and you are very welcome to stay again for future stays in Lanzarote.

Regards,
Guest Experience Manager

Just returned from a week's AI holiday booked as a late deal with T.Cook. Have stayed in the area before so knew that the position of the hotel was excellent. We had a room on the 4th floor(as requested) with sea view. Room was spacious, large bathroom, good shower and best hairdryer I've ever had in any hotel! Towels changed daily. Air conditioning working ok. The dining room was disappointing for a 4*, although the food was generally good with plenty of choice, it was more like a canteen(plastic tables,no table cloths) with tables very close together in the indoor section. Coffee absolutely terrible, whichever variation you tried. Most people complained about this!!
Pool area was always crowded and difficult to get a sunbed unless you were there before 9am. Also very noisy with the animation team constantly on the microphone, or shouting or whistling. To be fair, they were mainly trying to entertain the children(and doing a good job of this) but the noise just seemed to go on forever with 2 pools being used for different activities.
The evening entertainment was generally good with mainly the hotel's enertainment team taking part. I must praise them for their hard work and the very professional shows they put on. It's a shame that some of the parents couldn't keep their children under control(little ones allowed to run everywhere, with staff having to return them to their parents for their own safety!)
Reception staff were ok, perhaps not over friendly but gave advice when asked. Some people had a long wait when checking in, this seems to be a general problem unless you arrive by taxi before the tour company coaches!
They also seem quite keen with cutting your AI band off at 12, which is so unfair if you didn't get lunch on your arrival day. This seems very petty when so much food is obviously being wasted, they seriously need to address this!
All in all, I think this is a good 3*hotel for families with young children, with an excellent animation and entertainment team
In my opinion it is not so suitable for couples/ adults wanting a reasonably relaxed holiday in a nice 4* hotel. Of course, had I realised what a Flintstone hotel was and that this was one of them, I would not have booked this hotel, so can't blame the hotel for that!
Taxi from airport to hotel is €10. Bus stop 5 min walk away to Arrecife/Costa Teguise or to Puerto del Carmen. Ideal place for hiring bikes, cycle paths for miles along the sea front.

Dear Julieteilyr,

I would like to thank you very much for sharing your experience with us on the internet. Reading all reviews, with no exception, is for us our main tool to keep improving and providing the service that we strive for.

Please note for future reference that we will be opening soon our brand-new Chillout Restaurant Bar on the front line which will be aimed for adults as an alternative experience in the hotel.
Regarding the pool area, I have to say sometimes the noise can be disturbing if you want to relax for the different activities that we offer to our guests, however we try to keep times for everyone. Not to mention the lovely beach to relax that we have right in front of us!. Therefore I want to mention that I am glad you liked the room and the food apart from our great location.
Looking forward to welcome you back at Sol Lanzarote.

Yours faithfully,
Guest Experience Manager

Stayed here for a week S/C and had a great time. As the title states we found it to be very clean - maid in every day, poolside and other areas kept clean. Didnt bother with transfer from airport (taxi around 9 euro). Good location, right on beach with a few bars and resturants around (Spar and the likes). Went to the harbour a couple nights (around 6 euro taxi) and that was lovely nice places to eat and good to stroll around. Hired bikes for the day - very easy to get around as very flat. Only downsides would be 1. Certain reception staff come across unfriendly not great when first face you see 2. sun loungers can be tricky to get if you are later (this is a common problem most places though) 3. Requested a sea view room after booking through email and were charged 74 euro on departure (no biggy though as suppose would have been more expensive at time of booking. Overall a good holiday and great value for money hotel - would return!

Room Tip: Sea View is best but be prepared to pay

Dear AliG317,

Thank you so much for spending some of your time providing the public with your feedback about your stay with us. I am very happy to know that you had a great time!.

I would like to mention our location as you said it is one of our strongest points. The Matagorda beach and facilities right in front of us is simply outstanding.

In regards to your downsides please note that we learn positively thanks to these type of feedback, specially the friendliness of the staff that can be careless sometimes due to the amount of work. Nonetheless I am sure it was an isolated case and I will pass them onto the team for future reference.

You are very welcome to return anytime!

Just had a week all inclusive from 21 April 6 days were 28/30 lovely and sunny. Was worried about reports on food thinking we would have to eat out but very surprised, loads of choice food hot ask for omelettes well done amd eggs flipped over.Dining tables had just mats no cloths but much better if you have children. Some lovely desserts and fruit cocktails.Three pools middle one shallow but too deep for 4year old, steps or slope only to get in but tiles extremely slippy Beware...lots of children slipped over.Thought this one was heated but freezing cold and all activities were in this pool.Lots of improvements being done while we were there overall we had a great week, this is 4 not 5star so dont expect it for the money.Staff helpful and pleasant and checkin only took 5mins and staff on desk were always polite and friendly so thank you for an enjoyable stay.

The location of the hotel is amazing, its right on the front where there are a good selection of shops and cafes, it takes around 40 mins to walk into puerto del carmen. We went with jet 2 and I would say my complaints are with them and not the hotel, we arrived just after 10pm myself daughter and 2 kids aged 4 and 8 months, three large cases, plus buggy and hand luggage, there was no rep on the airport coach, we were told there was no trolley for cases or a porter to help which I find strange nowadays in a 4star hotel also there was no food available at this time. got to our room to discover no cot for the baby , after contacting reception it took over an hour to arrive. Room was large and airy which was great. FOOD was awful breakfast bacon was sometimes cold cooked ham warmed up - strange- sausages were hot dogs, we ate mainly at the sirrocco pizzaria to the left when you go out the back gate, risotto is amazing. drinks machines are aleays running out of drinks.Think they may have had alot of complaints as by day two a man in a striped shirt was giving out orders allover the place, trees being cut down, painting being done. these things should be done when the hotel is quiet not at the start of the season. Cleaning of the room was terrible, floor wasnt mopped or brushed all week, toilet not properly cleaned, glass doors not cleaned at all. Good point is that they chain the loungers up at night and don't open them until after eight thirty in the morning which menas that you don't need to be up at dawn to get a bed. we arrive don the thursday, no welcome meeting, and no visible rep until the monday until which we were more than half way through our holiday, Dont use the small supermarket outside the hotel it's a rip off we bought a pack of 16 pampers nappies and wer charged 11.80euros only to discover the price of 4.49 covered up by a sticker, queeried this and was told that they pay 9 euros a pack for them that's whythey charge this amount. If your taking ababy make sure u take everything with u milk baby food nappies as they are all very expensive and if you need calpol or suchlike u need to get a prescription. Every other 4star hotel i have stayed in allows you to use the fascilities until you are picked up for the airport, not so with the s/l you checkout at 12 and thats it unless u pay and extra charge for late checkin which u have to with 2 small children. The reason for the holiday was to give my grandchildren a good time and it did they loved the pool and fred flintstone and the entertainment was suited to them, would maybe go again with them but not if I was holidaying witah my husband, the bottom line is ,if it was a3 star its agreat hotel, but it's not a 4 in todays market

Room Tip: corner suites have a great view numbers end in 01 ie. 2401 etc

Recently spent a week early in April at the Sol Hotel on an all inclusive basis which was excellent. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We had an excellent room which was very spacious with a delightful view from the balcony. The evening entertainment was good. We loved the location with a great promenade. You could walk for miles! I think any hold ups booking in was due to the fact they only had two computers. All in all a great holiday!

Well we had just a week of being lazy, we arrived at the Sol Lanzarote on the 11th April. The hotel was very nice, we booked self catering as we had been to the area before & knew there was plenty of choices outside. The room was a nice size with a 2 ring hob & microwave so enough to whip up something quick. The down side is that you can't get a Sun bed until 09.00, they are all chained up & there are a limited amount of parasols, so you have to get there around 30 mins b4 & wait. The area is great for walking, we walked miles each day to different areas, also hired bikes which was brilliant, very reasonably priced for the time. We cycled off in different areas & had a great time, the weather wasn't brilliant but it was April & we did get sunshine late morn to around 5pm, when it got chilly we all went inside. Overall the hotel was good, reception ladies were not the most helpful, they could be booking someone into their room & the phone would ring, yes they answered it & made you wait or somebody would call them & they would go & again leave you waiting. So really a pretty good holiday overall.

Dear DebsieOxford,

Thank you in advance for your nice comments and sharing your experience in Tripadvisor!
We are very happy to know that you enjoyed your stay with us apart from the weather which I have to say has been very bad lately (for what we are used to). We will pass your comments onto the team!
Regarding the sunbeds being locked let me explain to you that we had many guests who used to set their towell at first time in the morning before breakfast and we were having many complaints about it. As the opening time for the pool is 09:00 o´clock we have decided to pile all the sunbeds and locked them to avoid unwanted reservations of the sunbeds. I hope you can understand this. Therefore I will pass your experience about reception. I am very thankful you mentioned it as this is our main tool to improve!

Let me say that lazyness is sometimes very good for brain-health!
Once again thank you very much and hope to have you back very soon!

Best wishes,
