“Great holiday, go with an open mind and its got everything you will need.”
Reviewed August 31, 2014

Just returned yesterday, the horrible reviews are not justified about this hotel. For the people that say its dirty and the pool area never gets cleaned obviously aren't up before 9am to see the army of cleaners and maintenance guys hosing the whole area scrubbing and jet washing the beds and equipment.

We had a party of six in two rooms and the rooms are a little dated by UK standards, but are not dirty at all, everything is clean and functional, the electrics on the complex again are dated by UK standards but I didn't hear of anyone getting a shock so they cant be unsafe! We had a leaky toilet on the first night repaired within five minutes of reporting at 11pm, now that is impeccable service! just try getting that at home.

The pool! We read reviews about stones around the pool before we left so purchased beach shoes from Sports direct which can be worn into pools and the sea, great purchase, problem 1 solved. Pool depth! The big pool is deep but pools are for SWIMMERS. If your children cant swim they shouldn't be in there unattended - get off your sunbed and take them in - problem 2 solved.

You are on holiday, you leave money or valuables around and then leave your door open because its hot and things get taken. You deserve to be robbed, you wouldn't sit in any street in London, leave a laptop on a table outside a café or restaurant while you pop inside for a refill so don't do it when abroad, Just hire a safe and have a lovely holiday.

Staff are very efficient - not unfriendly or rude. In the restaurant on all inclusive we regularly tried multiple dishes and if we didn't like something we could try something else, this is very common practice especially for when you want to try a local dish for the first time, your plates will be cleared so you can return with your new plate of food. Because it is a buffet style meal you don't get a waiter or waitress assigned to you as you would elsewhere so there isn't the dialog between yourself and the staff this isn't unfriendly, just how the restaurant works! through the week their staff got to know your face and if YOU take the time to ask questions and have a bit of banter they are nice people and very Efficient!

The hotel is brilliantly located in the old town and seconds away from the marina and minutes away from super beaches for snorkelling!

Entertainment, this hotel isn't geared up for kids clubs so get off your a*$* and entertain your own kids. Martin does a great job with what he has and offers shooting, archery, darts and things during the day Bingo and other activities during the evening, he was superb with our daughter who wanted to try archery despite the bow being bigger than her and really encouraged her, We were the only family that wanted to try it and he said we could do it until we had enough, he was in no hurry to get rid of us. Great guy.

If you are going on holiday to moan about everything that isn't like your own home you will be spoilt for choice here. If however you go on holiday to make the most out of a time with family or friends this is a great little hotel with 'Character' laugh off the little things, and enjoy your holiday.

We will go back.

Room Tip: Hire a safe and keep valuables in there or with you at all times. Email the hotel before you arrive...

Just spent a week here and it's been absolutely bob on. We didn't go away to judge the staff, they were great, especially the restaurant/bar staff. We didn't go away to judge the room, it was functional and catered for all our needs. We didn't go away to judge the pool, it was cleaned several times in the week we were there and none of our party were injured whilst using it. We went all inclusive and I'm really glad we did as the food was absolutely great and the heat made us all drink loads. Our children are 11 and 13 and they made lots of friends and enjoyed playing in the pool and on the billiard tables and taking part in the activities provided. We did not get robbed or burgled or pillaged or buggered in any way and we didn't bother with a safe. The hotel does have steps, lots of steps but I think that that is largely due to Puerto Del Carmen being built on a hill. There are some little stones around the pool and around the resort and there are some broken tiles in there too but hey, thank goodness us humans invented those things they call flipflops. The location of the hotel is great, we used both local transport and taxis to explore the island, it's quiet enough for those who don't want boomboomboom but situated near enough to night life if you want it. All in all we've all really enjoyed our time there, that said we didn't go to Lanzarote to pull a hotel to bits, we went to Lanzarote to experience Lanzarote, we can all find something that doesn't fit the bill or could be better but for us, this little old place has been bob on.
Well done BellVue Aquarius.

PLEASE dont stay at this hotel. From the reception staff to the bar staff they where the rudest staff i have ever came across in all my years of travelling abroad. This hotel has no entertainment for adults or children and is not child friendly. In our two weeks there they had music three nights out of fourteen nights and than bingo for kids that lasted fifteen minutes. The mini disco only went ahead if there where 5 kids on the floor if not it didnt happen and when it did go ahead it lasted 15 minutes. We went all inclusive but there where no snacks in the afternoon for the kids but yet on the website they said pastries and savouries from 3.30 to 4.30 . when i asked at the bar i was told i would have to pay for them .There all inclusive drinks where watered down no taste of malibu from there malibu . The rooms are dated and not clean our sheets where changed once in our two week stay. The first day of our holiday we where told about 4 break ins we did not sleep after that as we where terrified that we would get broken into even though we paid for the safe for two weeks . we have two girls and every night we slept with one child each as we where terrified incase they would take our girls didnt care if they took anything else our children are more inportant us.As the days went on there where more break ins every day and the hotel staff did nothing about it and didnt report it to the guards. The people where told to go to the guards themselves and also they would have to pay for a translater. A lady from cork had no safe but had 650 euro in the drawer the cleaners where in her room while she was in the bedroom doing her hair she heard her opening drawers but didnt think anything of it till she was gone when she checked the drawer her money was gone. The hotel staff done nothing about this either. Her sister changed her flights and she went home the next day with her three kids as she had no money and was terrified. this hotel from start to finish was a nightmare. We where lucky that we meet lovely people there and made the most of a bad situation. ALSO we brought our lazers cards with us as a back up if anything happened but never used them they where kept in the safe for the two weeks but when we came home i got a print out of my account to find that my card was used in the bellvue aguarius at 4.55pm the amount of 41.88 was taken out of my account , i than went to my husbands bank and got a print out to find his card was used too for the same amount no pins where used they where by passed , so our cards where taken from the safe and used. it might seem to be a small amount but if this was taken from everybodys account it would add up very fast SO EVEN HAVING A SAFE DOES NOT MEAN YOUR MONEY IS SAFE, to me its a internal problem and im not leaving this go. also nina if you read this i have no number for you as i must not have stored it the night you gave it too me.. i cant find you on facebook either.

On arrival the male clerk was miserable but as we got to know him you and all the knobheads moaning for the slightest reason you quickly understand his demeanour . Treat people as you want to be treated people . Rooms are spacious and dated but CLEAN . Water comes out the taps the colour of urine but it's clean . Food for an all inclusive is pretty varied and about the norm , watch out for the Jeremy Kyle wannabes who moan cos they can't have chips all day and moan about the choice. Sun beds were not an issue but I am an early riser and most become vacant 12-1pm. The little pool was a serious issue whilst we were there with little ones cutting there feet , if they were my kids this review would be somewhat more negative .

If your stupid enough to leave windows and patio doors open you will invite opportunists.

The only problem is at nighttime , there is nothing to do , a few ex cruise ship artists one or twice a week but nowt else . Nothing for the little ones and no music on the quiet nights . A simple disco would've sufficed .

My wife and I took a 16 and 15 year old and they enjoyed there selves and yes I would go back because the area is stunning with loads to see and do .

It is a good example of a 3* hotel and all the staff are polite if you extend them the same courtesy.

Room Tip: All the same , all with sea views on a terraced basis ,some have walkways in front of them just keep...

Just got back from two weeks holiday here on 26th August . I'm not one for moaning but sorry to say here goes . Food rubbish if you sit at your meal table then get up to get something els the staff are clearing it for the next people, they rush you . Their are no lifts and we were on fifth floor had to carry cases it was a killer . As for entertainment omg . Rubbish nothing for children only the pool and that is all deep apart from a little small pool for little ones . They never tidy or clean round the pool and as for the pool dirty two of my friends who we met their .their children had ear infections docs said it was from pool. And all around the pool area you have to wear something on your feet cos it's full of little grit stone . Only good thing came from holiday met some lovely people .

Room Tip: Low floor cos lots of steps no lifts

Please please pleeeeease do not waste your money on this dump. All the reviews were accurate. horrible food, RUDE staff who hover around you whilst you're trying to eat asking you if you have finished. Miserable reception staff. daily robberies. couldn't sleep because ceiling fan was sooo noisy and looked as though it was about to fly off ontop of us. Entertainment, what entertainment?? More like a cruel joke. View from bedrooms of a brick wall. my child cut her foot on the MANY broken tiles in the pool on our third day. I insisted we be moved to a hotel who's pool was not a safety hazard. Thankgod we were transferred to lovelier hotel with smiling staff and edible food. I wouldn't stay at the Bellevue

Booked this holiday late as a surprise for my wife's 50th birthday. Booked through sun master and won't do this again as price went up £400 from the time I booked until the time they called me back. From the minute we arrived the staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful and we had to wait 2 hours as our room wasn't ready. As this was end of July we were looking for air conditioned rooms as promised but got ceiling fans that were in poor working condition and the rest of the room had faulty wiring and lights that didn't work, the shower was also poor and got cold after only 2mins (not a great problem as it hot ). Pool side was awful small stones which was a nightmare on route to pool ,and the pool itself was very deep all over. As we were all inclusive we ate in most nights food was not too bad, but the evening entertainment was non existent or very poor. The final straw for us was on the morning we were leaving we were due to be picked up at 8am I went next door to waken our daughters came back into our room and went for a shower while there someone entered our room taking my wallet , iPad (which had lots of photographs and videos of my wife's 50th birthday week),watch and my wife's handbag. I went to reception to report this and as there was no CCTV nothing could be done but get the police for a report for my insurance. I will go back to Puerto del Carmen as it's a nice resort with lots to do but not to this unfriendly and unsecured hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a balcony, air con and above reception.
