“good holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

Had a lovely stay here, apartment was OK everything you could need if self catering, we stayed HB food was good something different every day, I've noticed no matter where I've stayed in Spain all desserts are much the same. We had room at side of reception so we was near pool it could get a bit noisy if you stayed in summer months with the children playing. We like to get out and see different areas so don't stay around hotel much, no problems with security or staff, one of the days they started to dig patio of next door apartment and side of pool there was a blocked drain somewhere it was necessary work, took a couple of days but left everything as they found it. Definitely stay again.

We had a lovely apartment just above reception so only had a few step's to climb. The apartment was clean and provided everything you need if self catering. We stayed A/I - there was something at all meal times to suit most people. We enjoyed the food - it was well presented and always hot. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful - they all work hard to please their guest's - especially the staff in the restaurant and bar's. The only minor fault I would mention is that it should be made clear to guest's that if all the inside table's in the restaurant are taken you can wait in the bar area - when a table becomes available the staff will seat you. Unfortunately we weren't aware of this and we were marched outside and it was a cold night (end of November). It might sound petty but it spoiled the evening and I hate eating hot meal's in the cold. Other than that small gripe I must say we had a lovely holiday and would return again in the future.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 319 just above reception - lovely view and not many step's. It's a downsta...

Our first - and last visit to this hotel!
We asked for a balcony to have some privacy and I'd read that other guests had been moved with no problem. We were told no balcony rooms were available, although we doubted the truth of this as we could see which rooms were occupied. We were kept hanging on and asked to check back again and again for an available balcony room, wasting valuable holiday time
The only room with a balcony that we were offered must be one of the worst in the hotel. It had a sea view but also a view of a rubbish dump! Everything was old, broken or damaged. A throw covered the most disgusting sofa I've ever seen! It took 2 days of repeated requests to have missing items of furniture replaced.
We could see that there were much nicer rooms in the hotel but the management were the most uncaring ever. The couldn't have cared less and yet I read other reviews saying they were treated well. Why treat people differently in this way? We were met with grunts and shrugs!
It's not nice to be treated as if you don't matter by a so-called service industry!

Room Tip: Avoid room 221 - everything is broken!

This hotel isn't 5 star and doesn't pretend to be, but its very good value for money. We had an apartment starting with 6 so it was a steep climb (about 80 or so steps to the room) but the views are fabulous from that vantage point - you can see across the whole bay and into the town too - worth it for that view alone - trust me!

Worth mentioning though, that this part of town is on a fairly steep hill anyway so people with limited mobility might struggle a little.

Our room was big for two people - bathroom, bedroom, lounge/kitchen and a large balcony which is great for sunbathing all day long. We went AI so didn't use the cooker at all, although the fridge was handy. Its true that the rooms and the decor is getting a little tired - but it was very clean and the maid service is 5 days out of seven. I found the bed hard and uncomfortable which was a shame, because otherwise the room facilities were good for what we paid. There is a safe in the room. but we didn't bother with it. Not something I'd normally do or recommend for others, but the place did feel safe and nothing was taken from our room.

The paths and garden areas are immaculate - well cared for, mature and really pretty.

Staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. The AI drinks are all local as you would expect and AI runs from 10:00am until 11:00pm - you are charged outside of these times. The food was pretty good for AI - not too many chips and burgers but lots of chicken, veal, beef, pasta, paella and seafood. The food was hot and fresh. There was also soup - varied and good - and salads. I guess my only criticism would be that the deserts were fairly bland. Outside of breakfast, lunch and dinner no other food is offered on AI.

There was a good bunch of guests when we stayed - Brits, Germans, Dutch, Spanish and Norwegian to name a few - everyone was really friendly and prepared to spend the time of day - something I always think makes a huge difference.

Entertainment wasn't spectacular - a Drifters tribute band, an elderly singer who thought he was a lot younger and a reptile show - along with the nightly Bingo - but who cares, its free and its not so bad that a few beers wont make it seem better :)

Wi Fi is available if you pay for it - I think it was around €20 or so for the week but the problem is that it only allows you to use one device at a time so a bit of a pain having to log in and out of phones, tablets etc.

There is a good sized pool with a children's area and a lifeguard in attendance.

all in all I thought this was a pretty decent hotel for the money I paid - I've paid a lot more for a lot worse, and would definitely be happy to stay here again

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have patios and upstairs rooms have balconies - higher numbered rooms are higher...

I don't normally write reviews as I think they can be very subjective, but feel it is important for people to be aware that security at this resort does not seem to be a priority. We stayed in one of the high rooms and were broken into one night and items taken from the lounge whilst we slept. The hotel is on a slope, and it would be easy for someone to climb one of the trees behind the level 600 rooms, and get onto the flat roof - then drop down onto the balcony. This was evident by the bits of masonry and debris from the roof on our balcony. The hotel were not concerned and told us to report it to the police - however they will not talk to you unless you can speak Spanish or have a translator. We were not the only apt broken into that night. The apt was very basically equipped and in general needed a lot of maintenance - it is a pity as it is in a very good location and the views from a lot of the apts are very good. The pool was nice but very cold. We did not eat at the restaurant as there were so many good places on the doorstep.

very average, still enjoyed, but rooms could do with a real good clean and refurb, Service was quite slow and staff friendly enough, Pool absolutely freezing, only my granddaughter and one other went in it, Food was not very good and on all inclusive no snacks at all.

Room Tip: apparently higher ones are refurbished with good views but plenty of steps

To be fair first, the accommodation itself was OK. I stayed in Apartment 522 so this was high up with a good sea-view. I would advise to try and get a room starting with 4 or 6 as you then get an upstairs room with a balcony: the ground floor rooms with patio are in the shade until around mid-day. They are basically furnished but at least are clean. They were not cleaned every day however.

I would advise anybody to book the apartment on a room only basis. The food is dreadful, both at breakfast and especially dinner. Even though I had booked half-board, I only ate twice in the evening as I could not face the food nor the rather depressing small dining room. The cooked breakfasts were awful: really fatty bacon, undercooked eggs etc. The yogurt was fine so I stuck to that and the self-cooked toast.

The location is OK and there are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance.

Room Tip: Rooms starting with 4 or 6 are the best: upstairs rooms with a nice balcony and good sea-views.
