Just returned from a weeks stay using Monarch holidays who were first class from making the booking through to the flights etc.
As previous comments the hotel is clean and tidy, rooms are basic but I believe they are slowly updating the rooms with air conditioning. The staff were friendly and polite, the food was as expected, however the sweet selection is the same everyday, if the chef put as much effort as he do's with Pork it would be different. As previously mentioned the A/I package is really full board with drinks as no snacks or ice creams were included. There was 3 incidents we heard of regarding thefts from apartment's but if you leave the patio door open and expensive camera and phone equipment in view well can I say!!! Very little entertainment but was told the peak season is November to June.
Plenty of loungers by the pool, views across the harbour and sea were scenic, we got used to the hill climbs by the time we left.
We can recommend Last Minute tours especially the south tour and the Camel rides, well worth the money as Paul the tour guide was informative and humorous. Would we go back to Lanzarote, perhaps not as we prefer Tenerife.

Just returned (Sept 6th 2013) from a one week all inc stay in this aparthotel.
Rooms are clean, maid service good, but most rooms are basic, bit dated and no air-con, only ceiling fans. Also the hotel warned us about securing the room properly at all times due to recent problems with break ins. The refurbished rooms with air con were beautiful (we saw inside one of them) but it had too many stairs for us (approx 75). Pool area clean, tidy, plenty of loungers available. Pool too deep for most people, 1.70m deep to 1.55m (shallowest part) except for kiddies paddling area. Hotel staff friendly and always gave good service with a smile. All inclusive bar/food was good. Although the food was good to eat, some of the daily food menus were a bit repetitive and could have been more varied (vegetable soup and pork meat most days). Amount of stairs to our room (approx 40) - without a lift was a pain, especially carrying luggage etc. No help was offered but when we asked help was given. Beautiful location for the hotel and pool area, overlooking the little port.

Entertainment quite good, although the hotel was fairly quiet and people did not always want to take part, which spoilt it slightly. Full marks to Tony the guy responsible for entertainments who worked really hard to get people involved and was always very cheery/friendly.
Sightseeing opportunities were good, trips available were reasonably priced. Sunday morning market trip to Teguise (hill town) was worth a visit. Plenty Shops, bars restaurants etc near to hotel and along front in Puerto del Carmen. In town the beach looked nice and water sports were available.

Came here with my 15 year old daughter for 2 weeks from 12 August and had a fantastic time.
I emailed the hotel 10 days before to ask for a room with air con and we got one, there are 167 apartments but only 6 with air con would certainly recommend requesting one, we were s/c and tbh the equipment wasn't brilliant but we managed.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful (tip wifi is available for 20 euros for 7 days well worth it with a 15 year old!) Cleaners were ok sheets and towels changed regularly and rooms cleaned 5 days out of 7.
Tony was amazing working very hard, and always a smile and a joke. Didn't use the bar after the first night as it was so expensive, 2.40 for a small glass of wine and 2.20 for a small coke, we took our own drinks down in bottles and nobody commented!
Managed to get a sunbed and umbrella every day but I did get up for 8.30 to make sure of that!
We found that we chatted to loads of people by the pool and in the evening, maybe because it was only a smallish place and not much entertainment but that was a bonus and really made our holiday.
We went out for a wander round every night and ate out several times our favourite restaurant was El Ancla down by the harbour, excellent pizzas and pasta and very reasonable. Must mention Star of India on the strip as well, excellent Indian and again good prices.
We went to Paddys Bar most nights and Ann made us feel very welcome.
All in all a fantastic two weeks, I read the reviews about people getting burgled but if you leave your doors and windows open what do you expect?
We would certainly return there hopefully next year.
One trip I would recommend is the Texas Rancho Park, we went with some friends we made there and had a great day out, they swam with the sealions and it looked amazing.

Room Tip: We were on the 6th floor and it was 80 stairs to the room but the views were amazing. Email the hote...

Just returned from this Aparthotel, (August 29th) & travelled as a couple in our forties. We booked a package via Monarch Holidays. On arrival check in was quick & the Reception staff friendly. I e-mailed the Hotel prior to departure & requested a newly refurbished room (617) as these have air con. That's what we had & boy were we glad, as the weather was very hot, day & night! The negative to this was, although the views are stunning, be aware there are a lot of steps. If you're unfit go for a lower floor as there are no lifts here. The appt was fabulous, newly refurbished & if you were SC you'd have everything necessary (2 rings / toaster/ micro/ kettle). The non refurbished rooms are also fine but have ceiling fans. Clean (Maid service every day bar Thursday & Sats), bright, bathroom toiletries & hairdryer provided, iron & board too.
Food / drinks - We booked for All Inc but it isn't really. It's Full Board with all your drinks so if you're used to having snacks etc throughout day then the Hotel does not do this which is a little disappointing. However, the pool bar had full drink service & the staff were fab (special mention to Mickel). All local drinks included plus a few cocktails & coffee day & night. No complaints at all about quality. The food is typical 3 * & the choice is repetitive. Maybe they should consider more of a snack basis for lunches other than full blown meals but nevertheless the food was good quality & hot. Waiter service for drinks was quick & they are very friendly. We ate outside on the terrace some evenings which was great.
Pool - A negative here is its deep all around, fine for us as we're confident in the water but it led to a lot of people hanging around on the steps so getting into the pool was, on occasion, a little awkward. That said we had beds & a brolly every day with no "sun beds at dawn" rush! It was quiet & relaxing & you can see the sea & harbour - Lovely.
Entertainment - Tony works so hard & he deserves 5 Stars. There are activities throughout the day & you can chose to join in or not, he doesn't pressure you. The night was mostly quizzes/karaoke plus 2 x Cabaret nights (Robbie Williams tribute & a "swing night", both were excellent). The entertainment isn't great but we met nice couples / families & you have a laugh together. There is a mix of nationalities staying & it’s good to speak to people from other countries. The drinks stop at 11pm but they're happy for you to get in extras & drink them at the pool bar.
We felt very safe & overall the hotel is very clean, friendly & in a nice quiet spot.
Around resort / Out & about - The Hotel is in the old part & it is quite charming around the harbour with some fabulous restaurants. There are a number of bars (mainly Irish) that are friendly & some have entertainment suitable for young & old. We went out each night after the AI ended & had a few drinks, (2 - 3 Euros for a bottle beer / glass wine, pints 1.5 Euros) good selection are about a 5 min walk. There is also a shopping centre with a few designer shops around 10 min walk away. A couple of Supermarkets if you're SC. You can also walk right along into the new part of the resort where there are a plethora of bars / restaurants if you want lively! Cantina (a chain of restaurants) does really good Mexican food & you'll have a full English breakfast for 2.50 Euros. A taxi is around 5 Euros back.
Turn right out of the Hotel & take the coastal path to Puerto Calero, about 3 miles (market on a Saturday). A small but classy resort with some nice eateries & bars. Get the water taxi back (6 Euros each).
If you turn right out of the entrance by the Hotel laundry & walk up the hill (quite steep) book any trips with "Last Minute" (orange sign). Cheap & the guy is SO helpful. We went to Costa Teguise Market (Sunday) 4 Euros each & it was excellent as you get a lot of info about the Island from the coach guide.
We had a great holiday & are sure to return in the future.

Room Tip: E mail the hotel & request a refurbished room as they have air con but be aware they are on the...

The staff here are friendly and the food was nice. Our own apartment was very nice and my only problem was we had fan in our bedroom that didn't work properly so found it difficult to sleep.I did tell someone at reception twice about the broken fan but it was still the same? The view over the harbour is lovely and a small beach is 5 minute walk away.Would definetly go back if they got air conditioning as it was in the 30s all week.
