“about to return for a second time.”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

My partner and I Stayed at this beautiful hotel in july, and have just booked a return for next week.
There is nowhere else in Lanzarote that we would stay in again, having stayed here.
Everything from the greeting in the reception on arrival to the hospitality during the stay is top class.

We will be in Lanzarote for a wedding and I think we are the only ones not staying in the appartments with all the other guests! we simply couldnt pass up the opportunity to stay here again!

All the staff are so helpful and the rooms are spotless.
The hotel entertainment at night is second to none.
The pools and the views are spectacular!

Can't wait to be back! :)

Room Tip: ask for a sea view room up a few floors!

Stayed at the Vik San Antonio from 3rd October to 10th October on a all inclusive board. The hotel is situated in a great location for walking. The food choice was excellent and the food was very tasty the only negative point to mention here is the food could could of been served hotter.
The room allocated was on the small side overlooking the sea not a big deal but the bed was very uncomfortable the mattress was too hard for me. The tv channels were great they have itv, BBC2, True movies, Sky sports 1. Great if you love watching football. I did not like the all inclusive system used at the hotel where you are given cards and you are asked to show the cards every time you wanted food and drink then asked to sign a receipt for every meal and drinks. A wrist band is a better system where you can help yourself. Unfortuately the hotel is not entirely all inclusive as they have guests on a half board basis. We found we were treated less favourably by the bar staff as they preferred to serve drinks to customers who paid and left tips. In the end we ended up getting our own drinks at the bar. I thought some of the staff were rude and abrupt especially the ones who worked at the pool snack bar and lunchtime dinning. The hotel really needs to consider sending them on a customer service course. All this was reported to the Thomas Cook rep who basically was not interested in my constructive feedback. The hotel left a bottle of bubbly and a plate of fruit for my hubby birthday celebration that was a nice gesture. Just a few negative points that let the hotel down overall it is a lovely hotel in a great location

Dear guest,

Thank you for writing your opinion, it is always very useful for us, in order to know what our guests think about the hotel.

Regarding your comments about the all inclusive system, as we have clients in bed and breakfast basis, half board and all inclusive, we decided to use the cards system, sometimes people with a plastic band feels different. We are not a typical all inclusive hotel, the guests have the option of coming in the board they prefer. We need to have a control of drinks and meals and this is the reason why we use the tickets anyway, but of course not for disturbing our customers, we are sorry if you did not feel good with this system.

We regret that this part of your holidays was not of your like, but we hope that the rest compensate you, and decide to visit us again in a future.

Best regards,

went to Vik San Antonio from 3rd Oct for 6 days. We booked a suite (Room 1326) which had a great location in the hotel- right by the entrance/reception, near the restaurant and lift (ideal as we had a baby In a pram) and had a lovely view over the pools and straight onto the sea. Only issue we had with the room was we could hear chairs being dragged across the floor early morning and late at night which woke us but we are not sure where the noise was coming from (maybe the main bar or maybe another guest room). The bathroom was clean and big with a bath with shower and a separate shower. The bed was very big and comfy, the maid was great and cleaned daily giving new towels etc. I do think that you should get free access to the fridge with a suite (if not all rooms) it is quite cheeky to ask for a few pound just to store our own drinks in the fridge to keep cool.

The staff are fab especially those in the restaurant, infact all restaurant staff in the whole of lanzarote are great- some of the friendliest people and they love babies- which was perfect for us as it was first time abroad with 6month old. There was never a problem getting a high chair or a table in the restaurant. The breakfasts were great and dinner too (we went out for lunch every day). The hotel does have quite old clientel when we went, being 30 seemed to be VERY young to be a guest here.

The shops in the hotel are nice and the man who runs one of the shops there is very helpful and went out of his way to help us with something. The hotel gounds are clean and spacious but they could do with a ramp going to the main swimming pool (not the salt water one) as we had to carry the pram up stairs, there was ramps everywhere else though.

The hotel location is great, near to the airport and at the start of the main road into the town, we walked up the strip every day to meet family members and have lunch, its full of little shops and great food places (especially "dreams" and "café la ola" - next door to each other). I would recommend this hotel

Room Tip: get a sea view

When we arrived , we were offered two rooms.one which was a supplement room. We booked a pool and sea view. The room we got offered was facing the pool and the sea but you could not see through the trees, very dissapointing. We were shown the supplement room and accepted this . Then we were told it was 24 euros extra a night which we didn't pay due to the fact we had booked sea and pool view. The hotel is good , entertainment was good 10pm till11 pm. Drinks were very expensive. Nearly 3 euros for a bottle of San Miguel u can get the same at the liquor store for 60 cents.the food was mainly good . Some was cold but when you are catering for so many it is understandable. Bath towels changed and rooms cleaned everyday. Jonny the entertainment guy does a great job . Archery. Shooting. Darts. Pool and French boules. Also water aerobics. We had a lovely chap look after us in the restaurant Jian Wei li. Very pleasant and helpful.we would stop at this hotel again. Room tip we had 1320 . But anywhere between this and 1326 you will have a sea view.

Dear customer,
Thank you for sharing your experience, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us.

We would just like to inform you that we try to allocate our customers in the rooms they prefer, but unfortunately not always it is possible. You can book lateral view or sea view but not pool and sea view, this depends on availability in that part of the hotel, you are not paying more for this. There are also renovated rooms with supplement.

Your compliments will be passed on to the staff.

We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

Having just returned from a week at this hotel we are looking at returning very soon. From arriving at EMA to fly to Lanzarote there was not one issue whatsoever. Pre booked seats and on-line check in all worked perfectly so a big thank you to Thomas Cook for the very efficient service.
We could always locate sun beds together without having to helicopter them from one end of the terrace to the other. The salt water pool is lovely and warm but cool enough to take away the heat of the day from your body without removing the breath from your body!
You can walk, from the pool straight onto the beach and be in the sea within 50 metres and it is not busy. We were all inclusive and received prompt service at meal times.
One tip.........Let the ladies go to the bar for drinks as they always get served before the guys!
The choice of food was excellent and varied every day. The waiting staff are very efficient and greet you with a smile. The house wine is very good as is the draft beer. There is light entertainment each evening. There were very few kids around so if you want it a bit quieter then go during term times, though there is entertainment for them.
It is a 20 minute transfer so quite easy. You can walk to the old town in around 40 minutes and sit and take coffee whilst overlooking the old harbour. There is also a cycle track, adjacent to the footpath, that runs the full length of the strip from Puerto Del Carmen right past the end of the airport runway so if you like to be close to aircraft landing and taking then this is a must as you are around 50 metres from them.
I hope that this is helpful to you of you are considering a trip.
Jon

Just back from a one week holiday in the Vik San Antonio Hotel. We had a fabulous time. This hotel is excellent .We had a room with a sea view and the sound of the ocean was breathtaking. We were on a half board basis. The food here is excellent with such a variety of food and a different theme every night. The breakfast is excellent. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This hotel is spotlessly clean. Entertainment every night is very good. The pool area is very good and the supply of towels for a deposit of €5 is brilliant. Easy access to the beach is great. Very centrally located and lovely walk to all the shops bars and restaurants. Bar a bit pricey but plenty of pubs very cheap just across the road. The Harp bar do brilliant cocktails and have great nightly entertainment.
Really enjoyed the holiday and would definitely return to this hotel.

We stayed at San Antonio from 16th-27th. September, and what an enjoyable time we had.

Hotel is located on the beach, and less than five minutes walk from the start of puerto Del Carmen Strip.

Taxi rank and bus stops right outside the hotel.

Accomidation room is a fair size, rooms are cleaned daily, we stayed all inclusive, so
fridge, kettle with tea & coffee and use of the safe were all included.

We thought all the food was of a high standard, and very tasty, with the added variety of daily
themes, Indian, Chinese, Japanese etc
Following that the evening entertainment commenced with duo from 8pm till midnight,
with a break for John from Annimation (who did an excellent job each day with the various daily sports activities, keeping those who wished to participate well entertained ) presented the daily sports awards, followed by an hour of mainly good quality star entertainment -there was no need to leave the hotel in the evening., as we had the added bonus that most international drinks were included. We found the staff to be pleasant and polite - Will look forward to returning
