We were considering eating at Fu Gui for their set special menu of 3 courses for €6.50 per person. My wife and I were jet lagged and just wanted a quiet but enjoyable meal.

We were hesitating outside when a lady invited us in, not in a pushy way as we've heard others do but in a friendly warm and welcoming manner. So, we went in.

We asked for the special menu and were especially pleased with the half bottles of wine they had on offer, which were good brands and surprisingly for these days, the one we chose wasn't a screw cap!

The staff were attentive throughout the meal, and the waiting times weren't long at all. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. All in all, for 2 people, our bill including a beer and a half bottle of wine was €22.80 - which we thought was very good! Our holiday is a gift from family and we have only a little cash to spend so it was nice to get a substantial, quality meal with good service for such a price!

On asking for the bill, we were given a shot each of a lovely liquor on the house. And that is the height of hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend it.

This Chinese restaurant is situated in the centre at Matagorda and offers excellent food at a reasonable price, with friendly and helpful staff. Ask for the "special" menu though as it won't be given by default. It has three courses (although really a starter, main and side) for 6.50 Euro.

we ate here after being told about the food and we were not disappointed. . Portions were plentiful and the service outstanding. The bill for 8 people consisting of starters mains and drinks 140 euros..they finish off with a drink on the house which is not a drink but a bottle of ron miel (honey rum) to help yourself to..will definitely eat here when we visit the area again..
