I would recommend these apts to anyone. The apt i stayed in had just been refurbished to a high std and was absolutely brilliant. The complex is like a little community which is very safe and peaceful.Dont bother going if your very young as its litteraly dead but if you like it like that which we did, then this is the place for you.You dont have to get up and worry about getting a sunbed as they hardly get used. Its in a great position for the strip and the beach.could not fault and will def return

We've been to these Apartments in the past, and every two years since looked for them again and again. Great we thought, when we found them on the Co-op Travel website. We booked up immediately on the 9th April 2013. That was the easy part!

We received three demands for final payment within a month (April) and that was a month before the date due.

One week prior to departure, e-mailed Co-op Travel asking when we could expect the tickets, did we have a holiday Rep and what were the Transfer details. Had to put a chase e-mail and was told that the tickets had been dispatched (e-mailed to us on the 31st July) no they hadn't! They had in fact been sent to the person who originally booked our holiday and he had not forwarded them on.

Arrived at Atalaya Apartments just before; 2200hrs 22nd August, some one and a half hour late because Monarch ZB234 was late, to be meet by a woman standing on the steps. Greeted us by saying "You're not staying here, it has no reception, no pool and it's been fully booked since July." Hang on, yes she said July! Why weren't we in there then if we booked in April????

We were escorted to Aguazul which is around 200 yards up the road and around the corner. My wife followed the woman and I rushed to the Spar Shop to obtain some much needed water, guess what? They shut at 2200hrs prompt. We were put in a 2nd floor apartment and told we'd be transferred to a pool side apartment on Saturday. We managed to cadge a 2 litre bottle of sparkling water from the receptionist and managed to quench our thirst with a cup of tea. Investigating our apartment, there were no drawers to put clothes in, there was a wardrobe and a shelf (Which was hanging off the wall by a centimetre, so we didn't put anything onto it). We, therefore, lived out of our cases for the period.

Hunkering down for the night, it was then that we discovered just how loud the adjacent karaoke night was. The adjacent Apartments have a pool bar which just so happened to face directly onto the front of Aguazul. The more you try to sleep, the nosier it seems to be!

Saturday arrived, yes we got the promised Pool side apartment, it was the kiddies pool! Quite comfortable and with places to store our clothing it was a Palace compared with the one upstairs! We investigated the surrounding areas to the apartment, it seemed very strange indeed. We discovered that a lot of the ground floor accommodation was let to residential customers. As is Atalaya, wholly!!

Room Tip: Use another holiday company! If you really want Atalaya, as we did and are for 2014. Look for the pr...

If you want to relax and still be near the beach, shops, bars and restaurants then these apartments are a great choice. The Casino is your land mark on the strip and you have options to go up or down the strip as it is centrally positioned. Very clean grounds and quiet with a well maintained pool. You have a Spar 50 meters from the apartment. If you want to explore more than Puerto Del Carmen then you could take the local bus (61) outside the Casino to Puerto Calero only €1.35 each. This is a lovely harbour town with a marina and nice restaurants, it also has a Friday Market. Another must is the Tuguise Market on Sundays, but be prepared to haggle. There are a variety of buses available at €4 return.

I would highly recommend the Atalaya Apartments and I will be returning early next year.

Room Tip: Great views with a poolside apartment. Sun the whole day on balcony.

I have just returned from a one week stay at these apartments (21 - 28 May) and really liked the complex and in particular my apartment itself. The airport transfer is only 15 minutes in a taxi.

I booked independently via Owners Direct and my apartment (ref C4709) was immaculate, bright & clean. Situated on the 1st floor overlooking the pool, with a large balcony a view of the sea on the skyline, it offered all mod cons with a well equipped kitchen, t.v,and d.v.d.player, nice furniture, great shower and very comfy beds.! The grounds were very well kept and in particular the pool area. yes, the pool is not heated but that is Canary Island policy I think! I braved it several times and after the initial shock it was fine.

The complex is very peaceful and privately owned, there are no longer any tour operators involved, so there is no reception service or bar/snacks. But this was unimportant to me as the complex is kept securely locked at the front door, and I prefer to provide my own drinks and snacks from my apartment!

The location is great, it is in a side road only 5 minutes walk from the main beach 'strip' and all the bars/restaurants and shops you could want for and of course the massive expanse of beach. There is also a very well stocked Spar supermarket literally next door, 2 minutes away, a real bonus & not far to carry those heavy water/wine and beer essentials!

The resort itself offers something for everyone, it has lively places and also more low key places. The hilly harbour area is very attractive, and has many lovely restaurants that provide both good food and stunning sunset views. It is a bit of a walk (mostly flat along the prom) from Atalaya apts - (30-40mins) but only a few euros in a taxi.

I thoroughly recommend these apartments and in particular the one I stayed in! I have absolutely no complaints and would happily return here again.

The complex is clean, quiet, despite being close to the main strip, and and well maintained but does miss someone in reception. Security is mainly by all residents, many of whom are there for several months, having keys to main doors in the complex. Swimming pool well maintained, but as ever for this complex, cold. OK for warmer days, but we saw some cool ones! Seemingly on the cool days the hot water was never very hot, probably just solar heated.

You are near many of the main shops and restaurants.

Excellent price and breakfast at Badegan De Luan, bottom of the road, turn right and across from "Ola"
Turning left on the strip and a few hundred yards along is an excellent Chinese called Jin Long, Golden Dragons. Does a buffet but their specials for 2 or more can be easily changed, gets a free bottle of wine, is a good price and excellent food from this family run restaurant.
Excellent mixed grilled fish platter, with many delightful local fish delicacies, only 32 euros including wine, at Le Ponderosa, which is up near the harbour end of the main strip.
The Tiny Bar, is just what it says and serves beautiful, reasonably priced home made cheese cake, left on the strip and across from Antica Tratoria in a narrow passage leading to the sea.
Not forgetting the lovely hot bread and rolls from the supermarket on the edge of the complex.

One apartment advertised here http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/puerto-del-carmen/154287 with some excellent reviews on Trip Advisor.

Handy for the beach, handy for the nightlife, close to the airport, clean and well maintained - who could possibly ask for more?

Definately one to try.

Lanzarote is well worth considering when one considers that the cost of food and drink is far more reasonable than, say, Gran Canaria. Puerto del Carmen is much cleaner than Playa del Ingles, is more modern and has none of the tired 80s feel of Gran Can.

These apartments are kept very clean and tidy. Nice pool area although a little piped music wouldn't go a miss. They are in a good location for the shops, bars / restaurants and the beach. This is the second time I have stayed in these apartments and would definitely recommend them.
