Reviewed January 16, 2012

Had dinner here one night and it was an ok experience.Service was good and attentive to our needs. We both had fresh fish ie sea bream and sea bass both of which were well cooked and nice to eat.Starters and sweets were both of a good standard. All in all a plesant place to have lunch / dinner with a nice view and attentive service with good food.

“very rude and aggressive front man”
Reviewed January 8, 2012

was walking past this restaraunt when i was very aggressively spoken to as i viewed the menu of neighbouring restaraunt.i was unable to read the menu as i was taunted by the food pimp of "el sardinero" as to wether i could understand english!! he began to insult my inteligence in front of other diners.TOTAL JERK !! to be honest i have visited other restaraunts in the old town but the service and standard of food do not always match the idyllic scenery.

“Lovely views, food to match”
Reviewed November 26, 2011

We ate here during November 2011 and had a great meal. The service was friendly and attentive and dishes were explained nicely when queried with some good banter going on with the other waiters at neighbouring places which gives you a smile. Can't fault the food at all, all components were served. Try the Bienmesabe with dessert though, it's lovely.

“Good food and friendly service”
Reviewed November 6, 2011

We ate here twice during our 2 week stay and the food was great, I had the fish platter both times and because I don't like seafood I was able to just have a variety of fish, which was different on the two nights. It is rather expensive but it's on the harbour, with lovely views of the sunset over the mountains. The staff were mainly friendly - some more than others. My only complaint is that on both evenings the white wine wasn't chilled, for some reason this seems to be a common problem in restaurants here. They brought an ice bucket but it took quite some time for the wine to be chilled enough to drink.

We noticed on our receipt that it says 'Cangrejo Rojo', which is opposite on an upper floor, so it appears that these two restaurants are now owned by the same people. I hope this turns out OK as Cangrejo Rojo has more bad reviews than Sardiniero!
