“WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2009

We were recommended to stay here by our friends Rod & Lynne and were very impressed by the place. Everything was very clean and the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The location is excellent being very flat making it ideal for people who like to walk. The beach is only a few hundred yards away. With the Spar supermarket also being very near. We are looking forward to returning next year and would highly reccommend these apartments for any one who wants a very quite and relaxing time.

Just returned from our 2nd visit this year & have not been disappointed. A very relaxed holiday in this quiet location. Peaceful lazy days & perfectly quiet nights so no problem sleeping. Happy smiling staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Great food from Ellie at the pool bar again & the island has improved it's bus services this summer which is an added bonus if you don't want to hire a car. Will be back next year & can't wait!

Have been going to Lanzorotie for the last 5 years and have stayed in 5 different appartments/hotels. Last year was the first year to stay in Marazul and we are back again in 2 weeks time. Lovely quite apartments, kids have the pool to themselves, staff excellent and very helpful. Its the first pool side bar which is not a rip off, even the icepops are near enough same as spar supermarket which is just 8 min walk down road. Beach is only 5 min walk away. Taxi rank is only 5 min walk away, just turn left as you come out the gate of apartments. Apartments suitable for families that want a quite holiday, Older people, people who have a mobility problem. Kids who cannot swim would need to have arm bands as there is no kids pool. THere is no need to get up early in morning as there is plenty of sun beds to go around and always loads available not like the Sol beside the Marazul,

We stayed for 2 weeks & didn't want to leave. A 24 bungalow complex in a peaceful location with delightful staff plus well maintained pool & grounds. Close to the beach & commercial centre so with everything you could want on hand. We had a one bedroom bungalow with kitchen, bathroom & enclosed laundry area at rear. Kitchen was well equipped & had very efficient ceramic hob. Bathroom had bath & shower - everything was spotless. New flat screen TVs were being installed during our visit, great selection of books to loan from reception which is open at all convenient times & run by Lily who speaks perfect English. The small pool bar is handy but not open late enough to cause disturbance. The menu is basic but just ask & Eli will delight in serving you something Canarian - we had some great octopus & Spanish Omelette. Pool & gardens well tended. Can't wait to return this September!

I stayed at the Marazul Apartment complex for the first week of July 2008. The complex is small and very quiet - good night sleep was had every night. It is right next door to the massive Sol Lanzarote Hotel, so it is well serviced for taxis into Puerto Del Carmen.
The pool is small and cold however this was refreshing in the July heat. The complex mainly caters for families and is geared for children. I was on a quiet break with a friend and didnt want party central so it was delightful for our purposes. The one bed apartment is large and airy with a terrace. The kitchen was small but functional and the bathrooms are large and spotlessly clean.
I would go back to the Marazul as it is ideally located close to the beach.

  • Liked — Location and peacefulness
  • Disliked — Sunbeds at pool are old and saggy and need replacing

We stayed in this quiet and relaxing complex for 2 weeks in July 2008 with our 3 children. Our 2 bed apartment number 24 was excellent, very clean with plenty of room. The pool was good for the kids, however it was deep for our 1.5 year old. There is no baby pool. Kids had the pool to themselves as the resort seemed to be more adults on a break from the kids. Very quiet at night. only 24 apartments all at ground level. No creepy crawlys. The bar opens from around 11am to 6pm, barbacue on Thursday night and closed on Friday all day. The lady in reception, Lily, is extremely helpful & pleasent. TV costs €3 per day, 5 channels BB1, Ch4, Ch5, Movies for men & horror channel.
Towels are changed each Wednesday and sheets at weekend. I would have no hesitation in booking this complex for our holiday next year. We booked through Sunway and the rep assigned to the Marazul was 100% helpful and she really couldn't do enough for us. The complex is located at the reception side of the Sol gates and 2 minutes walk from the local shops including a Spar. Very little passing trafic as its at the end of a road. 30 seconds walk to the beach through the Sol Lanzarote. First stop on the Sunway bus from the Airport approx 5mins. Taxi to the airport costs €5.

We've just spent a marvellous week at Marazul, there were four of us - myself, my husband and my parents. We stayed there on my parent's recommendation as they'd been a few times before and loved it.

As did we. The complex was immaculate, the bungalows spacious, the staff (Ellie at the bar, Lily on reception) were wonderful. Even Blanco (the pool-bar dog) was friendly enough to allow a tummy rub from a guest on occasion!

The pool bar is open from 11.30am to 4.30pm, 6 days per week (closed on Fridays) which offers drinks, hot snacks and ice-creams.

There are only 24 bungalows on the complex so it's very quiet, which is just what we wanted. You've got a 3 minute walk to a lovely beach and about 5 minute walk to a variety of restaurants and bars. There are 3 supermarkets in the same area which open late.

I noted another reviewer mentioned ants, cockroaches and lizards. The only ants we saw were around the hibiscus plants in the back patio, we saw none in the bungalow itself, nor did we see any cockroaches anywhere. There was one tiny lizard that came over the back wall for about 2 mins one evening, other than that we saw none anywhere either in or out of the complex.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough, I cannot fault it in any way at all.

  • Liked — Back patio, pool bar with good opening hours, hibiscus flowers everywhere.
  • Disliked — The fact that we only booked one week instead of two.
