We wanted to try somewhere different and were very pleased we did. We made a reservation but when we arrived on a Sunday evening, there was only one other couple there. The owner came to greet us and and talked briefly about our choices from the menu. When we had finished our starters, he came back again and we had an interesting conversation about Madeira, his birth place and families. The food was delicious and we were very pleased we made the decision to go there. We would certainly recommend The Black Scabbard.
