What a little gem, beautiful garden and great rooms. After a long drive from Jo'burg I had to spend the afternoon with tea in the garden, very well maintained. Can see the owners green finger, so many birds. The rooms are very comfy and homely. I would stay here every time during my monthly joburg-Durban trip. Such an awesome breather. Well done Johlene!

My husband and I arrived just before 0700 on a Sunday morning after a horrific night at a nearby backpackers. Joline, our host greeted us warmly with a pot of freshly brewed coffee and a big hug. Our room was really nice, the beds were very comfortable and the outside patio was private and serene, and the self-catering kitchen was well equipped. The location is perfect for day trips to both the middle and northern Drakensbergs. The town is super friendly with lots of little shops and a few really lovely restaurants. We highly recommend this wonderful place.

VERY disappointed with management at Kingfisher! We arrived at14:05 rang the bell at gate (locked)phone all 3no's on board outside gate,NO reply, left messages saying we are there to check in!! Left after 15min, desperate for a bathroom, and after 5hours driving just wanted to shower and relax before meeting family.......we asked for available room at another lodge as we were worried we were not going to find other accomodation ,as the berg and bush event was taking place, lady at this lodge then phoned kingfisher as she said it was strange, but also no reply, we then booked and paid for a room, and shortly after kingfisher lodge phones and says they are sending someone to open!!! Not only did we pay our dep but settled the full amount (mistake) as I asked for a refund, and 24hours later still NO call or email from kingfisher!!!!!!

We stayed at this beautifull bed and breakfast. We had great breakfast and awesome beds. The free wifi was cool and johlene was just an amazing host. Will definitely stay there again. We had clean beds made up everyday, dinner is an option which was a relief and a life saver. The garden is something you notice at first, its just breath taking beautiful and have various interesting birds.

We stayed in Kingfisher B&B for three nights, and had a great time. Not only is Johlene a wonderfully friendly hostess, but the B&B is a real jewel. The garden is incredible, and one can sit there the whole day just looking at the birds and the flowers. The rooms are great and neat and spacious. It is a perfect spot for anyone who wants to stay close to the Drakensberg, but don't want to pay the CRAZY rates they are charging in the Drakensberg. I highly recommend it.
