The rooms in the hotel Campanile Brussels Vilvoorde are really small and they are equipped with carpets and shower curtains, which are both an absolute no-go for me. The hotel is a non-smoking facility and has a fenced parking lot. It has even a restaurant downstairs.

The Campanile Brussels Vilvoorde is a very basic hotel located near the airport of Zaventem. The prices for the hotel can only be justified by the high prices near Brussels. The parking lot is fenced, which may be a big plus, the reception is efficient. However the rooms are small and the whole atmosphere is not comfortable.

Having travelled a lot in Europe, I got to know the 'classical' Campanile hotel. These are usually very simple constructions with very basic rooms, and outside corridors. This Campanile is just a level up from there : nice and clean inside corridors, and a more 'solid' construction.

No reason to come up with all kinds of small problems remarks about service / room / building / location : this is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. Some good points are the location right next to the trainstation, the fenced carpark, the relative proximity of the airport and the motorways, the multilingual staff. My room was correct and clean, not smelly. The bathroom is simple but was very clean and had all amenities, including a relatively powerful hairdryer.

In conclusion a good value for money hotel.

I stayed in this hotel once and said never again.

The first time a few years ago, the rooms were full of bugs and small flies!!! Anyway, after a few years, I said, I'll give it another shot so stayed 4 nights in January 2013. What a place!!! Staff is downright nasty. Food tastes like it just came out of cans and heated. Service is just terrible. The receptionist (a young woman with short hair) was flat out rude and actually sarcastic. Never seen something like this before in my life and I've been travelling for 15 years now... Bathrooms had no heating and was always cold. The water kettle was not for human use, the heating coils were heavily corroded and full of rust, probably toxic for humans. The lighting in the room is not enough, its always dark. The place is just awful and over priced!

Room Tip: Look for any other place just not this hotel.

My mum & I stayed here for 4 nights as I was having surgery in the hospital nearby. The staff were amazing from the minute we arrived & couldn't do enough for us. My mum was 2 days alone in the hotel & they were great with her & when I came back after my surgery they were amazing & even brought food to the room & provided extra pillows. Couldn't fault them at all!

Stayed here for one night in July and we were very impressed. Our room was small but clean. As it was sunny we decided to have our dinner on a terace and we were not dissapointed. The food was lovely and cooked to high standard and service was great. Definitely would stay again.

The outside does need to be made prettier and it does resemble a 70's hotel.

The inside is nice, the room we had had a lingering smell of smoke (the hotel is non smoking) and the only thing I can think of is that the cleaners use the equipment in other areas that allow smoking.

The room was ok, had a double bed, small amount of space for storing clothes, tv etc.

The bathroom was nice although the pressure in the shower was pretty high which meant the ultra thin shower curtain didn't really hold the water back!

We had breakfast one morning which was 11 euros. This was, in my opinion, overpriced for the food that was available.

The room description was a "city view" but this was not forthcoming due to the railway bridge in one direction and an office building in the other.

All in all, not bad, ideal as a last minute booking due to the closeness to the station and high street.
