Owner description: The Embiez island is located in south of France, in the Var Department (83), between Marseille and Toulon, in front of Six-Fours-les-Plages. The "natural island" is accessible all the year from the Brusc Marina in Six-Fours. In summer, many sports activities are available (kayak, biking, catamarans, paddle ...) and sports competition (tennis, petanque ...), parties, entertainment, train tour, etc. The Embiez Island is one of the Paul Ricard Islands, acquired by the eponymous entrepreneur Paul Ricard in the 50s. Various accommodation facilities and catering are available on site.

We were really excited about our 'day on the island' and yes it is a very beautiful place. However we found (and maybe it was just us) that the staff on the island doesn't matter whether it was a shop, bar or restaurant had all worked out long since that anyone coming to the island wasn't going to be there tomorrow so - why bother!!
If I was going again I'd take a picnic and enjoy a day on the beach.

An extraordinary spot that has remained totally unspoilt. Crystal clear waters fantastic for swimming although best to wear water shoes of some sort as it is rocky. No cars outside the main area, but you can rent bikes which is a great way to see the island. The ocean museum is small but very interesting.

As Bendor facing Bandol, Les Embiez were laid out by Paul Ricard who created the Ricard anis aperitive. Thinking to his employees, he created several places in France to let them take holidays. He founded the Sea Observatory which is always working in Les Embiez. Close to the coast, a beautiful place to swim and walk. An hotel is there too.
