The best thing I can say about this place is that it is in a good location for easy access to the old city centre. It has a sort of whimsical flair, which is not altogether unattractive on first appearance. However, the rooms are dated and in urgent need of some refurbishment. Our room was stuffy upon entering and pretty small, though clean, and the bathroom had a bathtub rather than a shower unit. There was a soap dispenser next to the sink, but no shampoo or soap by the bath tub. The worst thing, however, was the bed, covers and sheets, which all added up to make it a pretty uncomfortable night. The blankets didn't fit into the covers properly, seemed too small to adequately provide warmth and the sheet was scratchy. Everybody has a different taste when it comes to mattresses, but I just couldn't get comfortable. I opened the window to let some fresh air into the stuffy room, which helped a bit. (In the corridor outside there was a smoker's table for restaurant guests, I suspect the stale smoke drifts into the rooms.) However, at 6am the church starts ringing loudly, right next door, and continues to shake you out of your dreams every 15min. At 6am another church chimes in. Closing the window reduced the noise, but it soon got stuffy again. Rooms have flatscreen TV, phone and hairdryer. Not sure about WIFI - I didn't bother trying. Breakfast was mediocre and the coffee was absolutely awful. However, the staff was friendly. We didn't eat at the restaurant. We were only provided with one key, which may be fine for most people, but can be inconvenient.
