“Wonderful country retreat- home from home.”
Reviewed February 19, 2018 for a stay in February 2018

This is quite a find and a cottage complex that is hard to beat. The warmest of welcomes comes to all guests from its wonderful hosts Nicky and George who know what good looks like, and accept only the best for their valued visitors. We arrived to find the Grosvenor cottage (one of three) spotless and beautifully appointed with lovely welcome touches for our four legged friend too. The main house and grounds are stunning and provide a wonderful place to wear out the hound. It has a great location to walks and rural beauty (Symonds Yat, Ross on Wye, and only an hour away to the Brecons) as well as a few fab dog friendly gastro pubs- particularly we would recommend The Moody Cow where we enjoyed a truly delicious meal! Watch out- we will be back!

“Warm welcome, excellent property”
Reviewed June 24, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We stayed in this 2 bedroom cottage in the Forrest of Dean in June 2017.
Nicky, the owner, lives on site and gave us a warm welcome. Nicky was always available to ensure our stay was as good as she could make it, and for helpful suggestions for days out and directions.
The property is high end, spotless, luxurious and faultless.
The shared walled garden is beautiful with lawns, a large pond, fountains, flower beds and a huge furnished greenhouse if the weather gets inclement. There were two sets of tables and chairs on the lawns for meals, coffee or just taking in the view.
There was also a private walled courtyard behind the kitchen with a patio set and sun loungers.
We visited Symonds Yat East, Symonds Yat rock (for great views), The Dean Forrest Railway (steam train ride), several Forestry Commission sites for walks and the sculpture trail, Clearwell Caves, and Bathhurst open air swimming pool (Lydney) - there was a heatwave when we were there! I recommend them all.
Lydney harbour was a disappointment.
We had a great time.

“A gem in the picturesque Wye Valley”
Reviewed September 10, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We spent a delightful week in Harewood Cottage. Nicky and George were perfect hosts, always happy to help and give advice about the locality. They have an extensive library of books and pamphlets about the area.

The cottage was spotless and impossible to fault. We were fortunate to have a week of beautiful warm weather and sitting out in the lovely gardens was so relaxing and peaceful. Our little Border Terrier thoroughly enjoyed his walks in the fields and encounters with the sheep.

We can highly recommend these cottages and will be returning next year.

It was our pleasure to welcome you and thank you so much for taking the time to send feedback. We do think we are very lucky to be living in such an unspoilt and very much undiscovered area.... The best thing is that once discovered guests like to make a return visit.... we look forward to welcoming you again next year.... Nicky
