It was a bit like being in the Caribbean - palm trees, a large pool, lounge chairs and bungalows. During a 3 week tour of Spain, it was just what we needed after experiencing urban life in small downtown hotels in locales like Barcelona and Granada. The grounds of the Huerto Del Cura were lovely, the outdoor bar service was much appreciated, and lounging and dining in the pool area was a fine experience. Everyone had the same idea of staying by the pool, so the dining area was packed for dinner. After a long, but understandable wait, our order was taken, and then everything went very smoothly.

The bungalow room was large, the bathroom was huge and gleaming, the a/c worked fine and the beds were comfortable. It's a too rare occurrence when this all comes together in a Spanish hotel - even ones that cost considerably more than this.

Great hotel, beautiful and modern rooms. Very clean hotel and staff quite helpful although make sure to pack a translation book as not many people in the area speak English!! Very untouched area of Spain and so easy to get to from the UK. Very relaxing hotel with lots of sunbathing in August!! Restaurants don't serve food till VERY late do be aware of this, we visited during the festifval season in August but very good value for money!

Room Tip: Ask for a room near to the pool!!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: we stayed Saturday and Sunday night. When you arrive you have a very good first impression: lush palm gardens, big swimming pool, nice decoration in the communal areas, garden lights and candles, not far from the center of town...
ROOM n°238, on the 1st floor of a bungalow ...steep stairs made it a bit difficult to get our big suitcases up + room is very small + no light in the corridor + smell of sewage that become terrible the day after + air conditioning control was malfunctioning and was only "off" or on "maximum" + lots of little black flies that seemed to come from the AC unit + furniture only 2 chairs and 1 cupboard, no desk, stand for suitcase or big mirror + but there was a mini-bar and a safe.
SWIMMING POOL is really big but a bit tatty and we got bitten all around our legs by numerous big flies (this is a problem in the region for the moment and not particular to this hotel)
SAUNA - was closed
BREAKFAST was very varied (choice more than usual) but not of quality (eg. cheap orange juice...) + flies on the food.
OVERALL this hotel seems to specialize in wedding receptions, there is a lot of noise on Saturdays till very early Sunday morning !! This is not a hotel for relaxation. But a good point is the girls at the reception that are very helpful.
WHAT A PITY - hotel with great potential... if only looked after !!

I was there for a conference and the place is very nice, but the hotel service wasn't very good. The most important (for someone attending a conference) issue I had was with the internet connection. Basically after 5 days, I was able to use internet from my room only for 3 hours. Asking for help basically pointless, since they just came to plug and unplug the router and the problem persisted. At the end they told to better go to the lobby.

It's amazing place near central part of Elche. If you have business trip or relax - this hotel is the best choice! Comfortable suites in nice houses, green area etc. 5 min to the centre of this nice city. Swimming pool works from April to September

Our 7 year old son loved this great place as the beautiful garden setting made him imagine life in the jungle! We didn't have the heart to explain there are no clean and comfortable bungalows, fantastic pools, bar and top end restaurants in a real jungle. A great start to our holiday. Can't fault the hotel and the town made for an interesting day's roaming about and night time tapas crawl.

Room Tip: The rooms away from the pool are near a little slide and a couple of swings. Great for a cheeky picn...

My husband and I have just returned from four nights at the Huerto Del Cura and must say the hotel was beautiful. The grounds where stunning. It really did feel like you were somewhere much more luxurious. The rooms were also very pleasant and had great air conditioning which could be left on when you were out; great smack bang in the middle of August.

The only thing that let our break down was Elche itself but this is no reflection on the hotel. There was not a great deal to do around the area so we used this as an excuse to relax all week and the hotel certainly helped us do just that.
