We were here to pay our respects to the people killed in the Dunkirk Repatriation.
The last two hotels (both French) were "dismal" and "a dump", so this one didn't have to be too good to beat them. The reception was OK. We were given a room and a key for the door. The bathroom was very good.
We used the restaurant, and devised a couple of vegetarian meals which fitted in with their menu, pity they couldn't devise something to offer their clients. The serving girls were very good, but the meals, which were very basic, cost more than we would normally have paid, had there been any other decent restaurants close by. Only one person spoke English, even though the clients were 50% English speaking. Par for the course in France, I'm afraid.
The location was very good and just over the road is a very picturesque lake, full of ducks and some swans. There is a walking trail around the lake, so we used that for exercise.
We were disappointed with wifi, which kept dropping out. We had to go into reception or sit just outside it, for connectivity.
I would not use the hotel again, so cannot recommend it to others. Similar to the other two in France, the staff simply had no time for people who spoke English. Incidentally, it was better than the previous two.More
