We spent there a weekend with my boyfriend back in July 2013. It was absolutely fantastic, a real coup de Coeur! The hotel is located in quiet village with picturesque views, perfect for getting detached from city chaos and everyday life. Rooms are spacious and stylish. I totally fell in love with interior design, a great taste and warmhearted vibes. The owners are super friendly and hospitable, we spent the entire morning conversing with them. Highly recommended

We just spent a week with our 2 1/2 year old son and our parents in this great location and very friendly hosts. We did several day-trips to close (1-2 hours drive) sightseeing points (Carcasonne, Albi, Toulouse, Mirepoix, local market at Revel - all tips from Chris including maps). The hosts also gave us very good tips about local restaurants. At the last evening we ordered a dinner which was perfectly prepared by Donna and included wine at very good value. Our son was very happy playing with the three dogs who were very kid friendly and well-behaving.

I have just returned from a stay at this Chambre d'hôte.

If you are looking for somewhere that is relaxing, friendly and a 'home away from home' then this is it. The hosts Chris and Donna welcome you in to their home and nothing is too much trouble. Chris offered guidance on places to visit locally, the markets to visit - if you are there on a Saturday then the market in Revel is a must. He is also knowledgeable about local restaurants. We sampled Donna's cooking one evening which is an absolute delight and such good value. Aperitifs and canapés were served outside, watching the sun go down. The meal consisted of four delicious courses with drinks and it was so nice not to have to drive, just wander off to bed.

The rooms are very tastefully decorated, with very comfy beds and nice personal touches. They house is a refurbished pastel mill which is stunning, set on a hill top and one morning we could actually see The Pyrenees - the views are stunning.

If you are in this area of France, I would highly recommend this place - the welcome was absolutely first class. Even if you're not in the area, it's worth making a visit as there's lots to see in the area.

We very much enjoyed our stay with Donna and Chris.
The location is beautiful, and well situated a nice drive from Castelnaudary. We visited Carcassone and Limoux from their home also..(We recommend Le Belle Epoque and Cave du Canal in Castelnaudary.) The views from the garden/pool are very calming. Our room, the orchid room, was very comfortable. It was spacious and well-decorated. The bathtub was a nice addition, and we spent an evening relaxing there. Donna and Chris were friendly and engaging, with lots of helpful suggestions.
We did not have the opportunity to have a table d'hote experience but other guests seemed to enjoy it very much.
The only thing I felt could be improved upon was the breakfast. While abundant, the quality was mediocre. In France, it seems criminal to offer day-old bread or croissants. Coffee was flowing though.
It was also nice to receive a note from Donna after we checked out. She was the only host/hostess to send a "thank you and bon voyage". It was a nice touch.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, E & D. It was such a pleasure having you stay, and as you very rightly said it was like being with friends. We sincerely hope you'll return, especially as I will value your suggestions for my lame donkey sanctuary! All the very best.

Our stay in Le Moulin Pastelier was lovely. Chris and Donna were the perfect hosts. They made us feel right at home. When we arrived Chris and their three dogs came out of the house and gave us a warm welcome.
The bedroom was clean, nicely decorated and spacious. The bed was great, every night we fell asleep immediately, From the garden you have a beautiful view over the area. When the sky is clear you can even see the Pyrenees in the distance.
At breakfast we had fresh croissants with home made jam, muesli with yoghurt, fruit and muffins made by Donna. A couple of nights Donna prepared a delicious four course dinner. Donna and Chris joined dinner as well, which was very entertaining and we had a lot of laughs.
We stayed for five nights. During our stay we visited some nearby towns, relaxed by the pool or read a book in the garden. We also went for a walk in the area around the village.
In other words, our stay at le moulin pastelier was delightful and relaxing. We are certainly coming back!
