We went to the Wild Horses Mountain Guest Lodge for a romantic get away and thats exactly what it was - absolute brilliant service and location.

It felt like we were the only couple catered for as the attention to detail from the breakfast to the dinner was custom made just for us.

This is a rare find in South Africa and we will return over and over again!

A precious gem right on the Sterkfontein dam, with the most fabulous view and 5 star service. We have been to Wild Horses four times over the last 6 months and every time has been truly amazing. The view is spectacular so even if the weather is not great there is nothing better than sitting on the patio with a drink soaking in the view and great company of our hosts, Esmeralda and Van Heerden. They are extremely accommodating even with my difficult dietary requests. Our last visit was to celebrate our 15th anniversary on 2 Nov. Wthout a request from us they went out of their way to make it special. After a gourmet meal from Van Heerden who could easily take on any top restaurant in the country, we were pleasantly surprised with a romantically decorated room with rose petals and candles. If you are looking for a romantic dinner ask for the quaint wine cellar which they decorate with flowers and candles and background music. The wine selection is equally impressive. On some occasions owners John and Trish add to the positive experience. We went out for the most amazing boat trip to Silent Valley with John. To add to this fairy tale experience, John's herd of beautiful Apaloosa horses roam freely and are the friendliest horses I have ever come across.
