Although an older property, Atlantis Lodge gave me a wonderful few days at the beach. The place was clean, convenient and perfectly placed to enjoy the ocean views and the beach. Several things made the experience special. First the staff were warm and friendly and made visitors feel right at home. All of the amenities, such as the beach umbrellas and chairs, the beautiful upstairs lounge and the lovely landscaping, reflected their welcoming attitude. Although I didn't have a pet along I was really impressed with how the place was set up for dog lovers. Perhaps the best indicator of the friendly atmosphere was the invitation to stay and enjoy the beach and the pool even after you have checked out of your room. I plan to come back whenever I can

We were pleasantly surprised at the condition of this older style hotel. Attention to detail and obviously, love, has been applied throughout. It is a quality establishment, hands down. The location is grand. We were there for 5 days and still had plenty more to see and do around the island when we left. A heads-up: they DO recycle, there just aren't containers around for it. We found one by the ice-machine so it's easy to drop stuff there coming or going. Loved the private beach with chairs, umbrellas and toys for us to use! And the game room is wonderful. I hope you can get someone to fix your telescope. The pool is a gem. Everyone working there is nice and wants to please. Everyone staying there is nice too! A long drive for us - but we will return HERE when we want to visit the Crystal Coast of NC.

Wow, what a wonderful time we had at the Atlantis Lodge! This was our first stay and our first time taking our dog on a vacation with us. The hotel was lovely as was the staff. I agree with the other reviews in that the rooms are a little out-dated but they were very clean and I must say that I think that's part of the charm of the lodge. We were on the 2nd floor and had one of the large suites (end unit). We had an amazing view as did all of the rooms. The beach attendant is such an awesome addition to the amenities. We had James most of the week and absolutely adored him! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. I am planning my husband's 50th birthday celebration (family reunion) for the lodge for next summer.
