Visited Bordi Beach with friends on 15th April 2017. Going through the tripadvisor reviews, we planned to stay at "Hill ZILL", but since that was houseful, Goolkush was the only decent option we had there.
we were 4 people so we opted for 4 bedded room
check in - 5.45 PM
checkout - Next day 12.15 PM

Our experience with Goolkush:

1. The lawn and the garden
2. The service during dinner by the helper Kamalgazi
P.S. - We ordered food from outside (Golden Hotel)
4. Bed was really good - specially the mattress

1. TV - 22" TV with TATA sky connection
a) Remote was not working and Tata sky was not recharged. On requesting the owner changed the remote and recharged the TV but with few minimum channels - Not a single music channel was accessible
b) After 12 in the night - Again channel stopped featuring. - They recharged only for the calendar day - Ridiculous
c) 22 inch TV is small for a 4 bedded room as the viewing distance is long - View was obstructed from the second bed due to presence of an Almirah

2. Food - We had to order from outside
a) They only have combo meal - veg and nonveg. as we were group of friends, we planned to have some starters with drinks and light dinner
b) They suggested us, we can get the non veg from Golden Hotel.

3. Behavior of the hosts: We really did not like that
a) Too much interrupting - We got Sprite from outside and they questioned us why we did not buy from them
b) if they are unable to provide us the food and request to get from outside - Questioning for 600 ml bottle of Sprite is really not expected

3. Payment - Cad was not accepted - issues with their internet connection. we were forced to pay part amount by Cash and rest was accepted using Paytm.

4. They hotel is priced high for the amenities provided. Though washroom was clean but the room was not that clean - Floor needed broomig/mopping

We had an extremely horrible experience at Anand resort located just a few minutes from Goolkush resort. After leaving Anand resort in frustration we simply walked into Goolkhush and were greeted by a very hospitable parsi uncle.

The place is decent with lovely people managing it.

While daily breakfast menu remains the same, it's a fair spread of eggs made to order, bread, butter jam, poha. Not a buffet mind you, you have to order breakfast and this is what you get.

Dinner for vegetarians can be somewhat disappointing but as a non vegetarian I was happy with it.

Rooms are basic with television, dressing table and a nice balcony to sit in.

In terms of toiletries please carry your own since you only get towels and a tiny soap, but hey this is a really good budget place which is maintained decently with room cleaning service daily.

There is a swimming pool, however it is charged separately in case you want to use it ( we really didn't). The pool looked clean though.

A side note: If you travel to Bordi just remember one thing, apart from a few hotels / resorts most places are a combination of a home stay run in hotel style so don't expect any fancy places to stay.
If you really want a weekend which you'd like to spend away from the city noise doing absolutely nothing but simply reading a book, walking on the beach, this is a good place which is also not heavy on your pocket.

The four us stayed at Goolkhush Resort for 2 nights. We had a wonderful experience from the great food they served us to the ever smiling and accommodative staff.

The highlight of our stay were the meals they served us, lip smacking tasty and in sumptuous quantities. The food was not only great for the non vegetarians but also great for the vegetarians....

The resort has a swimming pool and a sprawling garden which is a delight to the eyes. The several swinging benches through out the garden are a perfect spot for evening tea.

The beach is bang opposite to the resort.

We enjoyed walk through the weekly village market ( which happens to be on every Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm) and were amazed by the local produce of vegetables, fruits and seafood. A great thing to do if you are in the resort on Saturday.....

The owner Parvez Dastoor and his wife Hutoxshi are a warm hearted couple and very helpful and accommodative.

The rooms were decent with the basic necessities, air conditioned and a TV set with Tata sky (you cannot ask for more in the price which includes all meals). There is 24 hours running hot water and a generator back up in case of loss of electric power supply.

The coastal drive along the narrow winding road through the various small villages is quite a drive.

The owners are pet friendly.

A special thanks to the staff Geeta and Chotu for making our stay memorable!

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor are the best bet, you can directly walk into the garden

The resort is managed by a parsi family. Place is clean , has a small pool with limited access to get in and get out. Garden is good. Avoid having food at this place although home cooked. Stay wise it is ok. Don't expect good service. little on higher cost as compared to other resorts in bordi.

The size of the room is decent but the bed and other amenities are terrible. It seems like we are staying in a dharamshala. The place is not good for vegetarians as the fries smell of fish. The owner is very money minded and charges Rs. 150 per person for swimming !!
